I'm surprised the instructions don't suggest that this would be a good time to replace the OEM roll pin (striker retaining pin) with the much improved PRP striker retaining pin.
You have to use a 3/32 punch. I learned the hard way that a 1/16 punch will fit INSIDE the retainer pin (which is hollow)....as I hammered on the punch, it simply expanded the old retainer pin inside the space where it was. Thus, my punch became stuck inside. I will now be making a trip to the gunsmith.
Same thing happened to me. But I put vice grips on the piece sticking out and twisted until it broke. then part of it came out with the striker and the rest came on through.
