Thinking of the same - but never ordered from UK for USA delivery. Were there any other fees in addition to what Anderton charges? Also, was delivery a smooth experience? Thanks in advance!

Bought one of these. Also bought a set of PRs Se locking tuners, graph tech black tusq nut, Fishman classic pen core pickup/ pots combo, and a switch craft switch. This guitar actually sounds good as is, but I have a project in mind. I plan to make a more aggressive voiced companion to my SE 24-08. Very nice “budget” guitar. Excellent craftsmanship also.

cool project man! Sounds like that 245 is gunna be a killer guitar when you’re done with it.

@@evanheathguitar I hope so! The one I got is the same color. I had an Se 245 custom in tobacco burst, but had to sell it as I needed the money at time. Great playing! I love the Se line!! It’s my fourth, but alas, third in my collection. The standard line seems just as well built as the custom line. Maybe someday I can afford an S2 version, or Coreline🤤

Quick update! It’s done! Feels the same, of course, but… the tones are unbelievable! Not sure how much the updated nut did to it. But recommend the locking tuners! As for the Fishman electronics…👍👍👍👍👍!!! Turned out rather we’l! And yes, I’m planing on using the stock pickups in another beat up workhorse guitar.

@@timothyweesner6286 that sounds incredible! Congrats man. I plan to put some of those locking tuners on my SE as well. I bet to the nut upgrade could help tuning stability to some extent

Love this guitar. I have a PRS SE ONE which is also lovely. I have the single cut se in tobacco finish too. I would trade it for a 245 if I could even though that has coil split.

Yes all mahogany is good but I like having the maple cap too. Speaking of alnico pros I put those in every hb guitar I gig with just for consistency, and run my amp a little brighter. Congrats on your semi hollow!

Rookie cuestion but If I own that guitar, should I sell it? Ias it price, in your more wiseful opinion, will go up let's say in 2-4 years? I understand it's going out of production. Thanks much love!
@evanheathguitar
@evanheathguitar Год назад
That is difficult to say man. It’s used price in my estimate will still be depreciated even after 2-4 years have passed. Perhaps less depreciation. I’d keep it if you like it ;)

@@evanheathguitar Thanks my friend!Might I ask (I love my Gibson Les Paul Classic 2014 125th aniversary). What PRS guitars have this 24 or 24.5 Les Paul Style? Precisely the new SE Mctharty models? WHich one would you recommend? Much love my friend.

Nice review but nothing said about the neck.....some people say it is very chunky compare to slim profile such as Standard 24 or 24 Custom, is that true?
@evanheathguitar
@evanheathguitar Год назад
It does have a chunky neck compared to the SE custom 24. The SE 245 has a neck profile which they call “wide fat” and SE Custom 24 and standard have a “wide thin.” I would say the difference is noticeable. Personally I’m at home on the wide thin neck but still really liked the wide fat on the SE 245 as long as the action is set to my desired height. Here’s a link about PRS neck measurements too support.prsguitars.com/hc/en-us/articles/5841437925659-Neck-Profiles

Super Smooth playing there! Color is also just beautiful, one thing I would love to know is about the neck itself.. Is that as prs say "wide fat" a kind of chunkier than most c or d shaped other brand guitars? I would love to have a chunkier neck that my small fingers feel better on big necks (I know usually it's the opposite for small fingers but I somehow feel more comfy on big beefy necks) so my wrist don't cramp any longer after few hours.. Greets from Germany
@evanheathguitar
@evanheathguitar Год назад
Thanks man I appreciate that. the 245 does indeed have a deeper neck profile and I enjoy it. Was tempted to buy this 245. That’s coming from someone who plays a wide thin PRS SE and another US made PRS with pattern thin neck (similar to wide thin.) I don’t think the Wide fat neck is as chunky as the 50s style Epiphones/Gibsons but I haven’t compared side by side. The 245 has a shorter scale length and this really contributes to its ease of play especially if you get that action dialed in just right. If you’re looking to get into chunkier necks I don’t think you can go wrong with this one because it’s deeper but not a log by any means. Of course the best thing to do is find one and try it out.
@Chris_OConnor
@Chris_OConnor Год назад
@@evanheathguitar Thank you for your reply!! This helps me a lot, I guess this is the best like you say to grab one and try, but at least I know then that it would be an good idea especially because of the shorter scale as well! The only problem is that here in Germany it's not longer in Stock especially not at Thomann, and I can't find any Infos if prs quit building and shipping them or if there's anything else going on... Do you may know what's up with that? Or is there a new 245 on the way and that's why they don't ship or restock them??
@evanheathguitar
@evanheathguitar Год назад
@@Chris_OConnor unfortunately I couldn’t tell you for sure but I doubt PRS quit building them. I remember last year I was wanting a PRS cu24 SE, but even guitar center was out of stock for a while and had to wait a little bit before some came.

@@Chris_OConnor SE 245 isn't easily available. Also, I heard on Anderson's that 245 model will not be there in PRS 2023 line up hence Anderson's has put their stock on a huge discount. You should check that out. 2023 we won't be seeing anymore 245s. In India I found one 2022 model of this guitar and have ordered it. Love the bridge pickup on this guitar. Neck pickup will require some work/height adjustment I think as it didn't sound great. I had trouble with the tuning as well but that an easy fix I think. Guitar looks beautiful for sure.
@Chris_OConnor
@Chris_OConnor Год назад
@@KartikSharma-yr9lm hey nice I'm glad you have found one there in India! So as you say the Andersons video was my warning also to be fast on them.. It's just that in my town there's not an guitar store who still have them, so I'm not sure because I haven't felt the neck so that's now the only thing that's holding me back a bit... I know it's a bit chunky but great for being a 24.5 inch model that's what gives me the reason at most because of my small hands.

Can i ask a question? I'm having a hard time picking between the custom 24 with this, Any advice?
@evanheathguitar
@evanheathguitar Год назад
If you are going to want the option of getting a single coil tone I would stick with the custom 24, since it has the push/pull tone pot. The 245 doesn’t have that ability. So based on versatility ide go with the Cu24. I also enjoy the neck on the Cu24 over the 245 personally. Both are pretty awesome though so of course it comes down to which ever one you can’t walk away from

Great guitar, but the 245 “Standard” is not standard. It’s the upgrade with a veneer top. The all-mahogany model costs considerably less and is just as good.

Can you please tell me about the difference in weight between a SE 245 and a SE 245 Standard?
@evanheathguitar
@evanheathguitar Год назад
I know that the SE 245 has a maple top and the SE 245 Standard is all mahogany, so I would think most SE 245’s are a little heavier since maple is heavier. Unfortunately I don’t have first hand experience comparing the two in weight

Hard time deciding between this and the Psr se custom 22
@evanheathguitar
@evanheathguitar Год назад
Tough choice. Can’t go wrong with either but I’ll add that the CU22 probably can do coil splitting which can be useful for getting more tones if you know your going to need them.
