Looks great. You can tell this man enjoys his work and the results. Please do a video of you planting trees. What to plant, when to plant, spacing between trees, early care, maintenance, watering, etc. Would love to have a small forest like this one day.
PS Got 3 year old trees from Wisconsin Department of Natural resources for about fifty cents each...planted trees 10 ft. apart...planted in 2002...in 2024 will cut down roughly every other one to give the others room to grow...planted white pine every other row and walnut, red oak and black cherry in the other rows...planted in May...only care needed other than pruning was to spread a pre emergent in the Fall before planting...the pre emergent kills grass and weeds to allow the trees not to have to compete for sun and natural soil nutrients...hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks for making this video, I have some pruning to do and didn't wanna hurt the tree and luckily the information you just shared saved me from it. I would've done it in the summer and cut the branches flush, the correct way is always opposite of what I'm gonna do. Thnx! 👍
Do you have a video on how to trim back mature pine trees with branches that have grown to long? We moved to a house with lots of pine trees and I would like to trim back the long extended branches to 'clean up' the look. The branches are live and the trees are healthy. I've never dealt with trimming pine trees before. I see the time frame to trim is closing in and need to prune soon! Thanks
Hi Michele, Sorry but I do not have such a video and I do not do shaping. My tree farm consists with right around 36,000 trees…half hardwood and the other half White Pine in alternate rows. I use the Pine to compete with the hard woods for light which causes the hardwoods to grow straight up. After 25 years (in two more years) I will remove half of the white pines and 25 years later ( I will be 99) the rest of the pines and half the hardwoods will be removed. This will leave me with a forest of hardwoods. Sorry that I could not be of help to you. Thanks for watching!
@@grandpahere Wow, that's a lot of pine trees! Ok, no worries. We just have about 15 varies types of pine trees and some need to be trimmed back bc the branches are growing too long over shadowing other plants near them. I learned to trim when we have 4 days of no rain and trim before end of May. Thanks for your response and videos!
The lopers I use have steel cutting blades and aluminum handles. They were purchased from Home Depot for about $25. The steel blades can be sharpened. The cutters come with a Lifetime Warranty which I have never had a need to use.
It is best to begin pruning white pine when they are small. Don't take more than 1/3 of the trees green material. Spring is the right time to prune. Thanks for watching!
