If it was, I would have it. I’ve been downloading every PS plus free games for well since of PlayStation plus subscriptions you 100% or free has never been a free to play game. It might’ve been in the PS plus extra catalog probably as a matter fact, it probably was, but that doesn’t make it a free to play game.
NHL 24 is one of those titles where, I wasn't going to pay money for it, but if it's included with Plus, well, why not. The hype train for 25 will be lighting off soon, so a basis for comparison will be nice.
I stuck to my word and chose to allow my subscription to lapse since the price hike. Sony added $20 to the essential subscription and made it so they are the only distributors while adding no value to the plan.
I am okay with this month - I haven't played a hockey game in AGES so this is going to be fun to try. Borderlands 3 is an incredible game and at first I couldn't see the outrage but I see it was a PS+ game previously so yeah...I get the hate now, that is a bit messed up to re-use a game, but I suppose I kind of get it because if you don't add it in that month you would have missed out on it so for many it shall be a nice treat.
Probably the worst month ever. Borderlands is a 5 year old game. Among Us goes on sale for 4 dollars. NHL 24 - The season is over. The player base all quit months ago. It's almost July - The game is totally dead. Good job...
The base edition of a 6 year old game that goes on sale for les than $10 all the time, a $1 game, and a sports title... Weaker month? Don't piss in my face and tell me it's raining.
Borderlands 3 is cool cuz I didn't want to buy it but for free I'll take it, NHL...ain't my thing and I hated among us since it was "cool" haha. Thanks for the updates cross.
Here for the sports game tears. For essential its an ok month...nhl is a big casual win, ill give borderlands a go, especially with some friends...., haven't played hockey since ps1 so im definitely game...
why is any platform charging for Among Us when it's free on mobile? I like hockey and hate the high price tags of sports games (anything over $20 is high imo), plus I haven't played any Borderlands games yet, so this is an okay month for me.
More trash free games from Sony after the price hike. I’m just going to move on to pc gaming. Paying for online multiplayer is a joke when it’s still free on pc. Steam has the best deals on games too. My ps5 will only be used for single player exclusives now.
So every tier in PS+ got a 30-35% price increase and most everyone agrees the quality of the titles being added has gone down, which means Sony is spending even less money getting new games in. Probably equates to about a 50% increase in profit. Until about half of the PS plus subscribers (including me) just say f it and cancel, Sony is going to continue this. I think Premium has gotten a little better, but the fact that it isn’t standalone without having to pay for the other tiers diminishes its value greatly.
From what I am reading there are around 40 million plus subscribers. Absolute worst case assuming everyone is going the cheapest route with a yearly subscription to essential, that is 3.2 billion in revenue a year minimum. Add in more for extra and premium and the fact that some people pay by the month, I bet the revenue is north of 5 billion. They can give us better games than this

It makes sense that they would put borderlands out this month considering they are coming out with the borderlands movie, which i will just say looks terrible
I bet the sports games are some of the most downloaded essential titles so it's never gonna stop. Especially since the price of them drops as soon as the season for whatever sport it's for is over
Dont think its all that bad. Borderlands is a fun time. NHL 24 ... again an enjoyable game. Among Us is even okay. Problem is that i own all of them. If you dont however ..... Better than last month in my eyes anyway.
PS Plus Premium has been a joke. Give us Bayonetta or Seikiro. Hell Elden Ring is two years old, a free PS Plus base game download would have dramatically increased sales potential for the DLC. Don’t get me started on the Witcher.
