PS2 Hidden Gems 

You could probably make another 50 videos with this same title. The PS2 library is so vast and has a seemingly endless amount of weird and unique games to discover. Thank you, as always, for highlighting games in a straightforward and informative way.

I think it would be a great addition if you started showing the cover art of games while introducing them; I know I recognize a lot of games better from the cover art than just the name. Plus this would also help fellow collectors more easily spot games you've shown while shopping. Anyways thanks for all the great content!

FORGOTTEN REALMS DEMON STONE!!!! I have been trying to track down that game after remembering playing it as a child, literally this video has solved a years long mystery for me thank you so much!!!!

In terms of mystic heroes, there are actually a few characters going by their unlocalized names that appear in Warriors Orochi series. Da Ji is in every Orochi game, Taigong Wang (Tai), Nezha (Naja who is a guy btw) appear in Orochi 3 onwards, and Yang Jian who appears in Orochi 4 who all fittingly represent the mystic realm of the Orochi series. Mystic Heroes is actually the first Keoi Warriors Collab game pre-dating dynasty warriors gundam and other collabs as the character designs are directly from the game Fengshen Yanyi based off the novel of the same name.

Oh man, Mystic heroes is such a classic for me. Its music and the elemental attacks. It was one of my first ps2 games i played as a kid.

On the matter of hidden gems on PS2: Transformers, Van Helsing, Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, Blood Will Tell, Ring of Red, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Project: Snowblind, Extermination, Resident Evil: Dead Aim, Army Men: Sarge's War, KoF Maximum Impact 1+2, Operation Winback 2 Project Poseidon despite all of its shortcomings, Crimson Sea 2, Final Fight Streetwise is so much better than its reputation, Legend of Kay, ETHUSIA - Professional Racing never got the praise it really deserved

Magna Carta... I actually think it's probably the worst RPG I remember playing. I'm always down for an RPG grind, but there were too many sticking points that gave me an overall bad experience with the game. ---- Trapt is one game I don't know why they dropped the Deception name from the title. It definitely scratched the itch I had from the previous Deception games which I got into because of Tecmo and how they use their games as special unlocks in most of the Monster Rancher (or Monster Farm) games.

Macross? I had no idea this game existed for the PS2 and as one who was a huge fan of Robotech, I must look into this!

Saint seiya its not a hidden gem at least to me, just the opposite, it was one of the few reasons I wanted a PS2 and many of my friends had it. Damn I miss Saint seiya games.

I played a little of Saint Seiya: The Sanctuary and wasn't a hug fan. I think The Hades is a bit more smooth. I think it's cool that The Sanctuary has the French cast doing a dub though. I do like beat-'em-ups though so maybe I'll give the game another shot.

Saint seiya soldier's soul on ps3/4 wasn't bad but I want one where the armors break or tear like in the anime or the db games where clothes tear and fighters show bruises.

saint seiya was pretty well known. I also remember it looking way better on the screen😂 it was a simple but fun game, you could always smash buttons to try get back up when downed, there was a lot of cinematic combat, pretty cool.

PlayStation2 best systems era, where they can sell full ready games on dvd. Today's trashy players prefer digital downloads games. Today we have empty discs with installations, or not full games and you have to download the rest from the Internet. And some games without internet can not be played at all .... sick times for today's sick young players.

Love the content! Been subbed for quite a while. Some timestamps would be awesome! nonetheless keep up the good content. Like I said been subbed since like 2019, found a lot of awesome titles because of you!

Now this is a series that will have long legs! 2 of my PS2 hidden gems would be Shinkon Gattai Godannar and Ichigeki Sachuu HoiHoi-San. The first is a 3D beat-em-up that is based off an anime that aired in the mid 2000s and did a decent job of putting in the different mechas from the show into a fighting game, even though a couple are severely overpowered. Hoihoi-san is something really special tho. It was released in a bundle with a figure of the character in japan & the story is that in the future, japan has an insect problem. The bugs have become immune to all pesticides and traps so a company created a small robot which looks like a maid that comes alive at night and literally kills all the insects while you sleep. Guess who you play as in the game!!

ps2 is the system that keeps on giving, i havnt heard of a few of these. awesome list. this list with the super dimension and mystic force, couldnt help but think of dynasty warriors gundam (not super hidden game but also not super popular spin off of dynasty warriors i guess) but i used to LOVE playing that on my ps2

Such a creative time in gaming, and so many games. It was such a good time rummaging through PS2 collections at different gamestops like how album collectors and DJs dig through crates in record shops. If anyone can help me with a ps2 game I only played in a demo but still wanna play it. It was a weird and quirky action jrpg where you play a character with a lance type weapon i think and you had a sort of dog creature with you always that had powers of its own and could help get across obstacles. The game had a really nice graphics since the environments are small and compartmentalized into different sections and as such had a nice depth of field effect to the visuals. Anyone?

Which PS2 forgotten gems would I recommend? -Mad Maestro -Alien Hominid -Mister Mosquito -Ka 2 (Mr Mosquito 2): Let’s Go Hawaii -Singstar ‘80s (ALL 30 SONGs ARE CLASSIC BANGERS!, from Uptown Girl to Our House to I Ran (So Far Away) to The Final Countdown to Wake Me Up Before You Go Go)

Okay. So i was setting up my emulator on my PC like 30 mins ago. And I thought of downloading some games for it so I watched a video prior this. And then As I was watching that, I vividly remember a game I enjoyed playing as a kid (huge fan of Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Sengoku Basara games) but I cant remember what it was. And so, this video was suggested. And boom. There it is. MYSTIC HEROES! Good Lord! I was surprised!

This video is good and all but there are some things regarding Contra Shattered Soldier you got wrong or failed to mention. First of all it does NOT play like the older Contra games where you have run n gun sections with bosses in between, Shattered Soldier is almost ENTIRELY boss fights with very brief run n gun sections sprinkled between them. Also there are never any weapon pickups, you always have the 3 weapons with their respective charge shots. One of the things I think you got wrong is concerning the Hit Rate meter, it does NOT represent accuracy. Instead it counts the percentage of unique non-respawning enemies and parts/pieces of bosses and such that you destroy. It is tied to progression since you have access to the first 4 stages immediately and you can do them in any order, but to access stage 5 you have to beat stages 1-4, and in order to access 6 and 7 (7 being the final boss) you have to beat the rest of the stages while having at least a certain total ranking (i think it's B or higher for stage 6 and A or higher for stage 7/final boss). Getting good at and beating the game really comes down to mastering the controls (learning how to aim lock really) and MEMORIZATION. I've heard it said that Contra Shattered Soldier is a puzzle game in disguise and I would have to agree with that, but if you can accept the game's differences compared to the rest of the series I think it's a very enjoyable game. It helps that it has a FANTASTIC soundtrack done by Akira Yamaoka, most well known for the soundtracks of the Silent Hill games. It's a very nice mix of grungy guitars and alien sounding synths that fits the game very well.

Even if I always play it with pleasure, I don't see "Sait Seiya : the Sanctuary" as a hidden gem. You must to be a big fan of the franchise to apreciate it, and the mechanich to launch a Big Bang Attack is just horrible. Because you shine when you prepare the attack you can't take you're adversary by surprise, and you can't realy chose the attack you what Big Bang you whant to use

I really want to like Magna Carta, but the slow pace, unskippable dialogs, difficulty to press buttons to chain attacks, forced me to drop this game.

I have no clue what Macross is but the game looks like Robotech: Battlecry on the same platform. Given the first Robotech entry was nothing like this I guess they wanted to copy Macross?

The Macross game wasn’t released outside of Japan. The PS2 is region locked.

Macross Delta (Anime) was a huge poof. I couldn't go past beyond 3rd ep, but I digress😒

Super Macross looks fun! I never saw it on the shelves. We got crummy Transformers games, and boring Mech games with funky controls.

"Urban Reign" and "Crimson Tears" are two great beat-em-ups just make sure you figure out the crowd control moves and strats :D

A true hidden gem for me is "EVERBLUE" 1&2.... I love this game so much that I bought a brand new PS2 console just to enjoy playing it again😁👍

What is a good starting point for a long running series as Macross anyway? Always wanted to get in, but there are so many Movies, OVAs and series, it's kinda overwhelming...

Forgotten Realms & Mystic Heroes caught my attention, and Predator will be great if it received a remake with the Spider Man 2 engine

I find it hard to place Demon Stone in such a list, considering it isnt even exclusive to PS2 in the first place. It was an almost simultaneous release for PS2 and OXbox +PC release. Consider invalid

I remember watching an old video of Trapt or Kagero Deception doing a really cool combo, but with cartoon music in the background. It was hilarious!
