The Pandyan assassins gather once again to destroy the Chola dynasty. Now the mighty Chola princes must fight the Pandyas, the Rashtrakutas and other Chola enemies who have joined forces. Powerful acting by ALL the actors. நான் பொன்னியின் செல்வன் நாவலை ஐந்து முறை முழுவதுமாக படித்து முடித்துள்ளேன் இந்த படம் எடுக்கப்படுகிறது என்ற போது மிகவும் ஆர்வமாக இருந்தேன் ஆனால் இந்த படத்தின் டிரைலரை பார்த்த உடனேயே புரிந்து கொண்டேன் இந்த படத்தை பார்க்க கூடாது என்று இப்படத்தை பார்த்தால் நான் கற்பனையில் நினைத்ததை இது கெடுத்து விடும் என்பதற்காக இப்படத்தை இரண்டுமே நான் பார்க்கவில்லை

Very true. எங்கே ஆரம்பித்து எங்கே முடிவு என எடுத்து இருக்கிறார்? யாரும் இங்கே படம் directorஐ யோ ,நடித்தவர்களையோ , குறை சொல்லவில்லை. மதிக்கிறோம். எவ்வளவு கஷ்டப்பட்டு இருக்கிறார்கள் என புரியும். அதற்க்காக ஒரிஜினலாக எவ்வளவு பெரிய காவியத்தை கொடுத்த ஒரு பெரிய எழுத்தாளரின் கதையை சரியாக எடுத்து இருக்கலாம் என்று தான் சொல்கிறோம்!!?

I think Kalki wrote the book ps to erase the fact that a Brahmin killed a great warrior karikala Cholan , Maniratnam went a step ahead and portrayed the great warrior as a coward who took his own life for a lover. As usual instead of raising concern and calling for a ban, majority of Tamilians loved the movie. It was disgusting to see Bharti Bhaskar going ga ga about the movie in sun tv

கேரள நம்பூதிரிகள்..ரவிதாசனும் அவனது சகோதரர்களும்..அவர்களுக்கும் பாண்டிய நாட்டு ஆபத்துதவிகளுக்கும் எந்த சம்பந்தமும் இல்லை.இவர்கள் எப்பவோ சோழநாட்டில் ஊடுருவி குடியேறி இந்தப் பயங்கரக் கொலையைச் செய்தனர். அவர்களுக்கு அதன் பின் மதுராந்தகர் ஆட்சியில் அமோக வரவேற்பு..நிலம், வீடு,சொத்துக்களுடன் சோழ அரசியலில் முக்கிய பொறுப்புக்கள் வகித்தனர். பாவம் செய்தவன் பகட்டாக பதவியில் அமர்ந்தான் மதுராந்தகன் ஆட்சியில்..ஆனால், பரிதாபத்திற்குரிய வந்தியதேவன் கொலைக் குற்றத்திற்காக பத்து ஆண்டுகள் கிட்டத்தட்ட சிறையில் தண்டனை அடைந்தார். திரும்பவும் ராஜராஜ சோழன் பதவி ஏற்கும் தறுவாயில் தான் அவர் நிரபராதி என விடுதலை செய்யப்பட்டார். ராஜராஜ சோழர் பதவி ஏற்றவுடன் இந்தக் கேரளத்து நம்பூதிரிகள் யாவரையும் பதவியில் இருந்து நீக்கி அவர்களின் சொத்துக்களை பறிமுதல் செய்து உடுத்த உடையுடன் குடும்பங்களோடு சேர்த்து நாடு கடத்தி விட்டார்..பின்னுக்கு ராஜராஜசோழர் காந்தளூர் சாலை மீது போர் தொடுத்து அதனை நிர்மூலமாக்கி ரவிதாஸன் முதலியோர் கொல்லப்பட்டனர்..இது நான் கூறுவது நிஜ வரலாறு..கற்பனை கல்கி எழுதிய பொன்னியின் செல்வன் அல்ல. நந்தினி என்ற பாத்திரமே வரலாற்றில் கிடையாது...ஆதித்தகரிகாலன் கொலைக்கான சதித்திட்டம் கேரளாவில் உள்ள காந்தளூர் சாலையில் தீட்டப்பட்டது. அன்பான நண்பர்களே...ஒரு நாவல் என்ற வகையில் கல்கி கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி எழுதிய கதையில் எந்தத் தவறும் இல்லை.நிஜ வரலாற்றை அப்படியே எழுதினால் யாரும் படிக்கமாட்டார்கள். எனவே ,நிஜ வரலாற்றில் சோழ அரச குடும்பத்தையும் ஆதித்த கரிகாலன் கொலையையும் வைத்து கற்பனைப் பாத்திரங்களையும் கற்பனை சம்பவங்களையும் படைத்து எழுதப்படுவதே நாவல்.அதனை திரையில் காட்சிப்படுத்துகையில் இன்னும் மாற்றுவார்கள்.நிஜக் கதை தெரிய வரலாறு படிக்க வேண்டும். இல்லை எனில் கோகுல் சேஷாத்ரி எழுதிய காந்தளூர்ச்சாலை நாவல் படியுங்கள்..இது நாவல் ஆயினும் உண்மை என்ன என்பதை ஆராய்ந்து காட்டும் விதமாக எழுதப்பட்டது..இதனைப் படித்தால் சதியின் பின்னணி உங்களுக்கு விளங்கும். நமச்சிவாயம்

I still think the way her character being so vengeful, ultimately she felt self-guilt and had remorse for he actions after finding out the truth surprised me. I am fine with her going under the river but would have preferred if Mani changed a few things to show her in the court for a showdown. She deserved to be heard.
