Today, I have a quick look at some games that came out on the PS2 & then got ported to the Game Boy Advance!
I love my GBA & back in 2003, it was my life thanks to the games available for the platform! At the same time, my PS2 was played a lot & I noticed some games for the console had ports on the GBA! How did these ports turn out?
I have seven games for you that I decided to try out to see what developers did with the GBA hardware!
The results might surprise you!

I wanted to make something different today & see how PS2 games or ports fared when they were put onto Nintendo's Game Boy Advance! The results might surprise you!

I used to see my friends play Game Boy games so seeing the console ports & what they tried to do with the hardware is very impressive! Thank you for making this video :)

I find it fantastic when we see ports that get a successful transition to another, especially on a low powered handheld :D I appreciate the kind words :)

they post almost all nfs for GBA, including Porshe Unlished from PS1 and PC

guilty gear was VERY well ported on gba max payne was an excelent version 007 was magical (it was amazing the actually ported a very functional and playable version on the gba)

While I don't think May Payne was an amazing port, I do appreciate the developers trying to bring the experience to the GBA :) The rest of your points I agree with :)

You should compare Guilty Gear Advanced edition to the first Guilty Gear on PS1.

Maybe xD I think a better idea would be to compare PS1 games that saw a GBA port, that could be very interesting :)

It is the final track from Shin Senki Van-Gale: The War of Neo-Century for PS1 :) The song is used in all my Affro's Curiosities videos :)

Guilty Gear X Advanced Edition could've been way better than it was, the graphics and audio are so disappointing

Hmmmmm audio yes but the graphics are not that bad :) The gameplay is where the game shines and it shines brightly despite being for the GBA :)

@@AffrosCuriositiesOfficial It was considered one of the worst ports to the platform, back in the day. The tiny faceless sprites and bleep bop rock were near Game Gear quality. But agreed that it's great fun if you don't mind the hits to looks, sound, and enemy AI. It's just that Street Fighter Alpha 3, Tekken, and King of Fighters EX2 had already set the bar higher than it aimed for.

@@juststatedtheobvious9633 Bit harsh calling it a poor port considering the GBA is nowhere near as powerful as the PS2 :) While the graphics and sound are disappointing, the gameplay is fantastic, the moves are mostly intact & the experience is well recreated on the GBA :) Guilty Gear X is up there with the best fighting games & this port is more fun than the GBA ports of those games :)

@@AffrosCuriositiesOfficial You've got an opinion. So does everyone else. Everything that isn't the core fighting engine is far below the GBA standard, by most measure. I don't see why it needs to be denied. There are games like Gekido Advance with beautiful sprite work, and endless repetition because those beautiful sprites ate up all the ROM space. Guilty Gear Advance is just further proof you can't judge a game by first impressions.

I don't disagree, there's amazing looking GBA games out there & I also agree that Guilty Gear X might give someone a bad first impression compared to other fighting game ports :) Just saying in a gameplay perspective, Guilty Gear X nails it & it was a very good experience compared to the console version but, as you said opinion varies and I haven't played every GBA fighting game at this time so my view could well change as a result :)
