A couple days ago my kids turned the PS3 on and it went to a black screen that says to connect the controller via the usb cable. What do we need to Liz this problem?
Got a better way while the game is off take out the hard drive. Than turn the game on, while 15 seconds in put the hard drive back in. Than some thing is going to pop up just turn the game back off then power it back on. hope it work for you.
For the message on the screen push the power button to turn off, second, hold the power button till you hear three beep sounds. It the screen goes back to the message then hold the button on the PS3 till the menu of the restore and rebuild links come up.
I found out how to fix it. all u hav to do is goto the side of the ps3 (if its superslim) or the bottom of the ps3 (if it is slim, look it up on utube, it is too complicated to explain) and slide it up and the side case will pop it (it will hav hard drive if it doesnt then idk how to fix it) remove the hard drive case with a screwdriver (it will be a blue or black screw), after u remove the hard drive, turn the ps3 on WITHOUT the hard drive! U will get a blank screen, then put the hard drive back in WHILE the ps3 is ON, u will get an error, ignore it and restart ur ps3, and voila! It shud work, keep in mind to screw it back in tightly after the ps3 works, and this fix MIGHT take a couple of tries, i had to try it abt 5 times to get it to work. Happy gaming!
all u do is check on the side or the bottom of your ps3 to see if u see the hard drive if u do open the case and there should be a blue or black screw unscrew it and take the hard drive out boot the system and it will give u an error then put the hard drive in and restart:)
omg thank you so much ive had this problem for so long and literally couldn't find a fix anywhere and really couldn't be bothered to buy a official ps3 controller ik this is a year old but honestly thank you so much
@@SucCoxInHelli uninstalled my hard drive and opened the ps3, then a messafe said that it cannot restart due to unsufficient system storage then plugged in the hard drive turned it off and on and still i cannot plug my controller
I had this issue just now, all I did was do a hard shut down by holding the power button to turn it off with the controller plugged in. Then when it restarted it recognized the PS button and could reset.
May be a little late on this and I hope you have figured it out by now, but all you do is make sure everything is off/PS3 off, plug your controller up to the system in the front as if you're charging it, then leave it that way for several minutes. Now turn your system on like you're going to play a game with the cord in the controller, try to move and select some things and when you see it move, turn the system back off. Now press the PLAYSTATION button and it should turn your system on. Mine is a super slim like yours but a 500GB. Hopefully this works.
i have this exact screen showing up but i only have a ps4 controller that i can plug into the ps3 anyone know what to do? or do i just gotta buy a ps3 controller
Look all you have to do is pick the back button for ten sec and plug the usb cable but press it hard inside the controller make sure your ps3 is off when u do it then when it gets to the health issue thing turn the controler on and it should work.
@@ridvanvejzagic2887 I turned everything off. Reset the controller. Connected the controller. Turned on the PS3. Got a message saying I should press start and select at the same time, but it didn't do anything. So I turned off the PS3. Started it back up again and it started working.
OK. this how you fix it . first off if your light is green when it turns on this will work if it is red its dead. ok you will need to charge your controller on your pc if it is dead . step 1 turn off your ps3 in the back . step 2 put your usb cord in the left side it will not work on the right side make sure that it is the only thing plugged in .step 3 turn your ps3 back on with your controller not hooked into your usb cord yet . step 4 get a toothpick no metal pins at all and turn on your controller still not hooked in to your ps3 and reset your controller with the toothpick in the back tell the light goes out then plug it in to your usb cord and you should be good . I hope this helps
@@MrTomemac are you giving your ps3 a hard restart meaning turning it off in the back of the console then going through the steps i put in my post .but you half to give it a hard restart before resting your controller .and try leaving you console off for 15 to 20 mins when you turn it off from the back you should see no lights on your console when you turn it off that way and make sure your usb cord is in the left usb slot
@@peterl1647 I have a PS3 Lite model so there is no switch. I pulled out the cord in the back and waited a bit before reinserting it. Even after having done that though and following the rest of the steps all 3 controllers still refuse to sync. This includes the controller that came with the system.
@@MrTomemac so you unplugged the power right . and are you sure your usb cord is working ? and when you reset your controller you have it on but not plugged in to the ps3 ? and it is flashing all red dots and when you put the tooth pick in to the reset hole in the back of the controller you leave it in tell the lights stop flashing ?
I've now done a hard reset on my console, and followed every recommendation for syncing the controllers, and they still won't work. They worked fine for the past two years, and overnight just stopped working about a month ago. Can't find a solution... I get no error messages at all, and the controllers work on other consoles, but not on mine.
me too one day i hooked it up and it said connect controller with usb cable i have usb type no wire i plugged it in nothing happend its been like this to this day hard boot did not work so your not alone
Yeah mine has the same exact symptom so I was a little optimistic that this would work and bought a wired controller, but mine is still stuck on that message plus still has to be unplugged to turn it off. I'm glad yours made it though👍. I believe mine has a motherboard issue.
Mi PS3 super slim was acting as if it has a broken WiFi module which was not the case because when i've upgraded (via pendrive) the system software to 4.89 voila! wireless internet conection was back... but and that's a big but... my perfectly functional and fully charged original controllers are not syncing (i'm using orignal USB cable)... any suggestions? i've already tried reseting the controllers with a clip.
the thing is that when this after market controllers think that there is first player and u connect another ps3 controller and u make that one the player the after market losses it's mind and blinks alot I had that problem too. the way I fixed was finding what controller number the one with all lights blinking was on. and try the controller setting and changing them
@@austinrussell7242 you could check if it's the controller or the wire by bringing it to a place like gamestop and having them check it. If not you might have to buy a new one
@@NunyaBiznes100dude I just wanna say 4 years later. Thank you!! I bought a “refurbished” ps3 on Amazon and they screwed me over by giving me a shitty afterglow and I couldn’t connect at all. Thanks dude now I have to spend more money on a real controller lol
I actually have the blacks PS3 and Mike says connect controller using USB cable and press the PS button exactly like yours and I've done everything you've done and mine still is saying the same exact thing when I plug the controllers in that light turns on but it still doesn't work
Yo turn off PS3 take out hard drive then turn it on then u get message no hard drive then turn it back off and go ahead put it back in the PS3 then turn on and you are set.. promise works flawless
@@doaballer Yeah im glad it worked out bruh for u you . I've tried so many ways to get it to work and about gave up but it must be a flaw in the system.. Cool name tho lol
Doesnt work. There is pop up :"connect fhe controller using usb cable. And press the ps button " i dont have original controller. I have giotech wired controller. So wo can i skip this without original ps3 controller??
sahan tharinda ours is Minecraft theme instead of camo but otherwise I think this is it. www.walmart.com/ip/PS3-Wired-Controller-Camo/45394463 Here's the link to my other video explaining what I did for the fix to my issue. What worked for me was taking the hard drive out, turning in the ps3, it said error, turned it back off, put the hard drive back in and turned the ps3 back on. I have a 3rd party wired controller and It started working perfectly
A year late, but hold ur power button for a couple seconds and it'll turn off. Turn it back on and it will be back to normal, just work on the screen settings and ur good to go
Thanks man it worked for me but after that I got sent to another black screen thats says system software cannot be run correctly. Prese the PS button to try restart the system. If the system cannot be restarted you must reinstall the system software.
Just take out your hard drive turn it off and take out your harddrive turn it on with your had drive out till it doesn't recognize the hard drive turn it off and put your hard drive back in and turn it on and it works here's the link to take out the hard drive ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v_mTCel6dC4.html Hope that helped guys
I turned on my ps3 and it was on this I don’t know how it got to this because I played it yesterday now it says plug in my remote useing an usb but the only remote I got for it is a wiered one is there something else I can do
I did everything you did but it’s telling me that I have to connect storage media that contains update data version 4.82 or later , and then press the start and select buttons at the same time . I don’t understand it lol
I had this issue just now, all I did was do a hard shut down by holding the power button to turn it off with the controller plugged in. Then when it restarted it recognized the PS button and could reset.
@@zyambozimba9904 This absolutely works. Turn off the system, remove the hard drive, turn the system on again with the hard drive removed. It will show no storage found. Turn the system off again, and insert the hard drive. This time if you turn it on, it will start normally - no safe mode. If you don't know how to remove the hard drive, look it up on RU-vid.
@@arnavkaushal588 is this a permanent method? my problem is that it goes back to normal when i press the ps button on the controller, but this will go up randomly even when im playing games.
you can also try this way, while it's off take out the hard drive, then turn it on while it's on push back the hard drive and turn it off. when u start it back on it may come okay! it work for me!
Hi guys! I have the same problem, I don't know what I have to do anymore. How do you fix it? Yesterday when I was playing the game freeze. And after this my PS3 stuck on boot screen.
