PlayStation and PlayStation 2 had game start ups, what were they thinking of? What makes the system better without the "Game" start up sound? We need to get the word out for sony and playstation to put the game start up back. Make an update for it. Also fo the same for the PlayStation 4. The start sound for the PlayStation commercials should be the PS4 start up sound. PS4 is dull right now.
I used to be really kinda stubborn on how it started up but the ps4 was right on time when I was starting to not care as much about how it started up, but I still like to look at the old PS3, and ps1 and satan (formerly known as ps2)
I'd recommend removing that beginning annotation. I really don't know what the original conversation was about since the other guy's comments seemed to have disappeared, but my first impression is to assume that he got under your skin and that you couldn't handle whatever argument you got into. Not only that, but you're essentially using your platform to target a particular individual which makes you look like the bad guy in a way. Also, it's probably amusing for the other guy to see that the uploader of a video is now publicly giving him special attention over a petty internet argument. Like I said, I'm not really taking any sides in the argument and these are the first impressions that I get after reading that annotation...
yup you can go to the theme settings and choose the classic background. But the glitter and the thick bars are the only things that get removed. Everything else stays on. Personally i like the glitter effect. Nice tough. Dont let the glitter put you off from buying one (if you dont have one). Ultimate Gaming and Multimedia Machine.
@MrLeoBT Thats just your opinion. I liked the Spiderman font. They should have kept that or at least given people an option for those who invested early in the fatter models. After all it matches the font on the console itself. Also, I loved that logo. Was very classy. PlayStation have ALWAYS had a gameboot. Its a shame they've decided to remove it. Its a very sad break in tradition. I'll agree the lighting looks alot better but it doesnt mean that the gameboot had to be removed.
its debateable but i would imagine so because although it comes with more ventilation ports than the fat ps3, its form factor is alot smaller in theory restricting the airflow to the components.
@KenMeister1357 1. No, nothing will happen if you insert a PS2 disk into a non backwards compatible PS3 system. It will show up under the 'Game' icon in the XMB but wont be recognised as a game, just a DVD as I recall. 2. The reason the tool to create PS2 Internal Memory Cards is present on all PS3 systems is simply because of firmware. The hardware in the BC PS3's use the firmware to create the memory. Sony would have to create bespoke firmware for each BC PS3 which would take alot of time.
@usavichvich I plugged the component wires from my PS£ (Red, White and Yellow wires), into a DVD recorder with a blank DVD and set it to record. Simple as that :)
I have a fat original 60gb, but my brother recently got the 120gb slim. Overall feature are mostly the exact same, but the slim has twice the WiFi power the fat does. compared the 2 in the same position, in a concrete house, fat got 30% on a good time, slim stays at 70% and above.
Well, the Spiderman logo was a horrible break of tradition. We've seen one of the most innovative inviting and unique logos replaced by a glorified, hardly casual movie font. I'm sure it'll be back with the 'PS3' start up soon, but replacing the 'PLAYSTATION 3' logo on game cases is higher on their priority list right now imo.
In 2009, they changed the brand name from PlayStation3 to PS3. It's stupid though because they could've kept the old startup and the game start could've said PS3.
@littlelaurence well, im sorry you feel that way but when youtube gives users the ability to watch in "HD" it makes for decent advertising and views. There are many videos which use the same process as me but I was generous enough to let the fellow commenter know how i recorded this footage.
i personally have a fat 40gb model with a 1tb hard drive im really lovin it lol. IMO the fat looks soo much better than the slim and many agree. Ken Kutaragi FTW. shame he left
probably because of the reduced casing. Sometimes it could be interference from other signals like a mobile or bluetooth or even if somebody is standing in between the signal. btw what router do you have? i could do with a new one. Only get around 40-50% 60 on a good day
i have the PS3 slim 250GB, it is good but what sucks is it has no third party OS install and no b/c except for PS1 games and even that is somewhat limited
@heloimutube you need to go to the far left of you XMB till your on "Settings" the nthe first option should be "System Update". After it is installed, the bar should automatically show up when you start the PS3.
it depends on your needs. If you dont have much room or you download demo's alot and transfer movies get a PS3 slim and if you nnot too worried about it get a fat ps3. You could always upgrade the hard drive of a fat ps3 and it would save you more money.
well for you it does.... and im not sensitive, im just pissed that you made a big deal over something which didnt need a big deal to be made over. Also the word "comparison" doesn't seem to be in your vocabulary which clearly means to anybody 2 or more. And didnt you think once you saw the orignal startup that "oh this is the original startup maybe the new one will be after it...." and if you do own a ps3 then even worse.
@ADDMEONPSN Yah im annoyed with the gameboot removed and the new sound is a little bit annoying but along with the "new updates" alot of features have been added or updated. To be honest, id like to have all the new/updated stuff but like to keep the old startup sound and gameboot. It was just really classy.
@brooklynSYCO dont worry dude, it has internet...do some research first before you ask people on youtube these questios. So many websites which sell the PS3 and on PlayStations website tell you what each model comes with..
@WrestleByte803 ya you can havei think 10colours. Its a shame you cant make them change colours automatically like every slow colour changes gradually throught the XMB menu.
well the PS3 fat 1) has a lot more features, (model dependant) than the PS3 slim. I mean just because its slim or lighter to me its not an appeal, nor does it improve its performance. I mean making it slim, is it that useful? its not like your gonna carry it around with you.....doesnt break down like the Xbox360 so you wont need to. The only "real" feature i can think of is the bravia sync which is only useful with those who have a bravia tv and using the ps3 is all they do. a gimmick to me
i liiked the first startup better cuz the first one it had that music and then u go to the gamemenu and when u pick ur game it says "playstation3" with a ding lol.the new one it has a terrible music startup and it says right away"playatation3" and it brings u to the playstation network so when ur not online u have to go to the game menu and when u pick ur game poof nothing. y the hell did they have to change evrything just because there's a new one i like the first starup better
ps1 games only. If you have a fat (better) PS3 60Gb PAL/NTSC or the older 80GB NTSC (only) PS3's then you're lucky and you can. However no slims WHATSOEVER can play ps2 games...=(
@tutubrain I meant, I liked that Spider-man font..they should have sticked with it! hehe...actually I just liked you vid so just put some comment there...if you want to know what it means then google it and prolly first link will have answer... :D
