No they had to change to a subscription because they were losing more money than they were making with the PS3. We had a good run, but business is business
@@joshuakeeton2000 you can buy it for 60$ for a year. so thats 5$ per month, not a bad deal because you get 2 games for free (even though they suck sometimes).
@@nott2337 you have not seen their video "10 console gaming myths debunked" then cuz that list they litteraly defended the PS4 online gaming payment shit (im on PC and dont care wtf it was called for that multiplayer PAY stuff). Edit: oh also on that video they also said "dont bitch about stuff you dissagre with we also did a pc one" now they DEFENDED online PAY and tell us to stop bitching cuz they also did a pc one xD....... Edit 2: so thanks for the likes. So just wanted to say some random shit they said in the video that is bs, Defended online PAY. Console aint holding the gaming a gen back which it is.... Its holding gaming like 5 years back mininum because devs gotta make it playable 30 fps at least, it has worse hardware. Ps games have 60 fps... Etc..... But even if its not and its 30 fps.... WhO cAReS?... (i couldnt even watch videos on my 60hz Phone when i first got a 144hz monitor without getting dissy in my head at first) That a controller is as good as a mouse and keyboard when it comes to games and the example they used it was RPG's, now a mouse and keyboard are better in 90% of games like FPS, RPG, RTS (i think it was RTS?, etc) but a controller is better in platformers and in assassins creed for alot of people (not me on the new ones but the old ones hell yeah). And other random shit and also STOP READING THIS AND JUST WATCH THAT TRASH LIST FFS
@@theheroofourtime3578 dude look at humble bundle, green man gaming which are game sellers online like steam where green man gaming once made a 30 games 30$ deal where they had 30 games and not cheap ones but sniper elite 4, metal gear solid phantom pain, darkest dungeon, etc and it sold like 10mil (not a few of that bundle sold) and 100% went to charity or humble bundle where they sell ALOT and 1/3 goes to charity (i think it was 1/3???? Correct me cuz a part went to charity). Or go back to PS3 where it was free for online. Now here we go and now you stfu idiot so. hey idiot They dont need the online PAY its just a extra fee you stupid fuck, they have other stuff they sell like headphones, phones, other random shit that makes them alot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and they earn money on the PS but they just want more money and idiots like you will buy it and dont care and say They NeeD ThE MonEY defending it.
@@theheroofourtime3578 lol ps3 didn't need money for online access. but since xbox 360 did it and nobody gave a shit, sony started doing it too. and not like it prevented hackers from stealing psn accounts. plus they're double dipping at this point. 30% cut from game devs. and then $60/year from players.
You have wrong. I didn't knew about rgb limited and full, also i didn't knew about png vs jpeg diffrence. For sure there is a difference but what difference exactly i didn't knew. So this guy did a greate work. Also i have a 2K pc monitor and a tv and lastly i connect my ps4 to my 2K monitor and i was seeing big difference in image quality, so this guy solve my problem and now understand what to do , to take the best quality from every of my screens. So stop being stupid like many many many other people in the world.
This video was full of useful information, some i already knew but im a massive nerd and pay attention to that sort of stuff... but screen sharing? I completely forgot about that... that's kind of a game changer... Now I get to push the "share" button for the first time not on accident! Thanks!
Another fun fact if you have a friend who has digitally downloaded games you can transfer their account to your ps4 and download all their games. Something I am honestly baffled by seeing as how Sony is usually really strict about sharing games and products
@@jacobross735 well see you didn't explain it correctly though... It's not just as simple as 'download games and play' whatsoever... You have to download the profile, activate your ps4 as the accounts primary ps4, then download the games, and any account on your ps4 can play that content, BUT, whoever the account belongs to can ONLY play the content on THEIR account on their system, no others, and that's also only while it's connected to the internet, otherwise it can't verify that you still have the license for the games since that ps4 isn't the primary.
The PS4 browser will remember the last webpage you were viewing and will show it when you open it again. So don't forget to close all tabs after your finish your.... browsing session. Also, you can take screenshots on your PS4 browser, which means you can google for any hent... I mean, picture you like and use that as your theme.
I found an expired Destiny code, I asked Activision for a New code, they sent me to bungie, so I asked bungie for a renewed code, they sent me to Sony, Sony sent me to the shop where I bought it, the store sent me to Activision/bungie...
1:53 "There are people who like not having the blackest black" immediately shows black guy (update) THEY ACTUALLY CHANGED THE PICTURE lol When i made my original comment i wasn't being serious obviously it was just coincidental editing but it is funny how they have obviously freaked out a bit over this whole matter
I lost interest after watching that... What's all that about....are you trying to be funny.... Whitty.... -_-. Make you feel good. I'm not triggerd, I'm just confused.... just why, this sure as hell isn't Jake's doing... His cool, he wouldn't do this... Right?
That doesn't happen. Turning on your TV with the TV remote will NOT turn on the PS4 if it's off. Here's what will happen: -Turning on the PS4 will turn the TV on (if off) and change to the PS4's input (if not already there). -Changing the input to the PS4 while the PS4 is off will turn the PS4 on. -Turning off the TV will also turn off the PS4, but NOT Vice-versa. ...and that is all.
@@PowerStar004 My guess is the hdmi link setting prolly should check on that and i think if you left your tv in the hdmi channel that connect to the ps and turn the tv on again it will also turn ths ps. So if you change your hdmi input to something else it shouldnt turn on the ps.
This is why I only buy physical disk games anymore. If something happens at the end of the day I can still sell that disk and recoup some money. Or I can share a game with a friend.
You can share a lot of digital games too. This requires total trust between users but if you set their ps4 as your "primary" system and they set yours as their "primary" 95% of what you download in store can be added to both systems. So I buy a game digitally and my brother can then log in on his system as me download it then go back to his profile and he owns the game as well. Down side is if my internet cuts out I lose access to my digital games and in some bundle situations dlc won't be included with the "free" game. Plus side is I buy a game or dlc and almost every time he gets a free copy. We can also play the same game together co-op or competitively.
@@Psykoskull1 you can do the same on XBox, which is where I believe that originated. It's the same setup as PS pretty much, just go to settings, personalization, my home console and there you go
Thank you ever so much for this video! It made my life so much better now that I got rid of the lag that my TV produced. I had no idea... This should be turned on in the TV settings by default!
Now I know, that my TV has a game mode. Not the image only but the SOUND became so much better! Thanks, Gameranx, now my Bloodborne re-playthrough became even better!
Kuroi Kitsune I found it! It’s in the foldable piece that says “The Best Place to Play” and tells you about PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, Spotify, PlayStation Vue and the store. It’ll be on the store page
THANK YOU! I had no idea you could change the color range in the settings. I have a color-accurate display for my freelance work and when I switch the color range it blew my mind. Ni No Kuni looks even more incredible than it already did. Thank you so much! :D
The first tip was so helpful!, I didn’t even realise the RGB setting was set to limited, and since I use a monitor I changed it and it looks 1000% better, thank you!
Fun fact, server maintenance costs money, and they have to pay people to moderate them. PS3 didn't make you pay, and it also had hackers within a month of a game coming out
@@sithstalker6936 I like how Steam makes you pay for their servers. . . .oh, wait. . . . This is just part of the "gaming as a service". The other part is them shutting the servers down and you losing all of your digital games (the ones that require you to be online in order to play, at least), since you don't own them and only paid for a license to use them under the $ony banner.
Here's a tip. If you want to share a game with a friend, you can set their ps4 as your home system and your ps4 as their home system. When you buy a new game, they can log in as you, download it, log in as themselves, and they can then play the game for free. My wife and I do this for all our multi-player games. Saves us from having to buying the game twice.
Maurice Weathington no I’m saying I brought the disc then I put it on my PS4 it starts downloading and it finish then I can do the same thing in another PS4?
Also you should link your PSN account to Sony rewards, you get points for earning trophies! I got a total of 11 platinums and I had completely forgotten about it until I saw hollow knight was on PS4 and it was on sale for $7.50! So I went to Sony rewards and claimed a $10 gift card and I got hollow knight pretty much for free! Incase your not to sure on how the point system works I believe it’s 10 platinum trophies = 1000 points 25 good trophies = 250 points 100 silver trophies = 100 points A $10 gift card is 1000 points.
its vidu I forget, I set it up a while again when they first announced it. I believe it ask you if you have a PSN account when you first make an account or just use the same email as your PS email and they link automatically I believe. And I should add it’s U.S. only FYI.
You help me a lot with the image quality i was saw in my 2K monitor and in my 1080P tv. Really i was seeing big difference in quakity every time i change my ps4 from TV to my 2K monitor. Also i didn't knew about png vs jpeg differences, again you help me a lot. And other things i didn't knew and i learned them here. So you did greate job.
1:59 hey I have that same TV in my room, love it. If you adjust the TV's video settings just right for a game console , oh my gosh, the quality is amazing, much better than a flat screen TV with the same red, yellow, white cords connected. I just plug my Wii in it and play Gamecube games
3:24 HDMI device link , think this also allows you to control the ps4 with your tv remote! Obviously not play games but for using apps like RU-vid and Netflix without draining your pad battery is a huge bonus 🙌🙌
Thank you for your information this video was very helpful especially for us seniors that are not as Savvy as certain people are with the PlayStation 4. Keep on gaming!
Thank you for making this! You just helped me solve why it was always so dark when I played something like minecraft. I haven’t been able to figure it out for YEARS. Again, thank you soooo much
I just hope the Ps5 has full backwards compatibility for it's entire library... as honestly when the physical game's go by by for digital copies of everything only, my days of buying the latest systems will have come to and end and I will just build up my library of physical games for the last system to have them. A variety of launch colors even if just 3 or 4 would be fun too......
it's not going to be. because 1) the Emotion Engine in the PS3 had poor emulation and could not run every single game properly, including PS1 titles. and 2) they would have to make it available on both disc and digital, and licensing issues could prevent many old titles from being supportive.
Sony has been working on a new patent for BC to run every generation. Even if the PS5 isn't full BC then it will obviously will be for PS4 at least which is obviously more than fine.
Gunshy yeah. I was like mhm digital copy’s would save me so much space and money but then I realize if I get ban I won’t be able to play the game that I downloaded digital or I can lose those games forever etc. With disc that will never happen so yeah
Thats true. When your account gets perma ban. ALL of the digital games you owned will be revoked on the account and you will never play it on the ps4 same goes to xbox to some players as well. Digital sucks when it comes to that but the only benefit of having it is getting the games through sale only.
Need to add that PSN Store content isn't Region Free. So if you try to buy DLC for a game you got from EU, make sure you go to the PlayStation EU Store. Importers probably know this, though.
I was due to renew my psplus last year so I did so with my taxes. Not 4 days later they had a sale for 3 extra months when you purchase a year. Figured I’d contact customer support to see if they’d do anything. Pleasantly surprised that they sent me a code for the 3 months. Love it!
Thank you for the rgb tip I moved my ps on to my monitor about 10 months ago and it looked really dull but I put rgb on full and it looks so much better
I'll literally never understand the kind of person who buys a PS4, a new phone, or a new piece of technology of any kind, and doesn't turn it on and immediately spend the _5 lousy minutes_ it takes to go into 'Settings' and look through everything the device is capable of, first thing. What are you, some kind of NPC? You bought the thing. Learn how to use it! How is this something you're not excited to do with your new device?
The HDMI device link is honestly just a fancy name for HDMI CEC. It can called something different on each device. The Nintendo Switch supports as well, and it not only allows the TV and game console to turn on at the same time, but it also will cause the TV to automatically change the input to said game console when it's turned on.
You missed game sharing. The primary account on the PlayStation will share all their games as well as PlayStation plus online play benefits with the other users on the same system
I had been wondering why the colors looked washed out when playing my ps4 on a home theater projector. Dynamic range tip number 1 fixed it.. Thank you for that.
You can also use your tv remote to turn on your PS4 (and PS3 Slim) it used to be called HDMI-CEC It’s also useful for watching movies and stuff like that
Hhmmm do I want to use the Sonicare toothbrush earpiece or the Castro a50.... So many choices. Lol good vid btw mate. I always look to you guys before I get a game. Keep it up and much love.
I know I can switch it to .png but if you share the picture with yourself through a message where you're the only recipient, it'll be downloaded as a .jpg through the mobile app. I think the only way to get it as it is on your PS4 is to save it directly to a USB or to your phone if possible. IDK if sharing it to Facebook or Twitter preserves the format.
Here are 2 things many of you might not know: 1) You can't access the PS Plus monthly free games once your subscription is over, EVEN IF YOU DOWNLOADED AND PLAYED IT BEFORE. The game just becomes locked and remains like that until you renew your subscription. (Like Final Fantasy 7 remake from last month). This however, doesn't apply to the games you buy from PS Plus discounts. 2) A lot of crossplay games like Fortnite, Minecraft and CoD Warzone support Keyboard and Mouse inputs. The only downgrade is that you have to keep the controller near you as well if you're using headphones. P.S. Some games like Warzone doesn't automatically take K&M as input; you'll have set it manually.
so when my Sony KDLX5200 has an option in settings to set game/text mode on or off, what does it mean to set on or off what does it do? I notice it stops me using motion enhancer
Once you conected the HDMI link between the television and the PS4, not only the PS4 can turn the TV on, but the TV can wake the PS4 up, and you can use the arrows on the TV remote to control the PS4, this is great when you want to use the PS4 as a media player.
