PS4 CUH-1215A Fan Spins Super Fast

Received this 1215A today from a friend who disassembled the unit in order to repair the blu-ray not reading games.
In the end. It was a simple task of reassembling the unit correctly. The fan was spinning too fast because the heat sink clamps where not installed.
I am not an expert and my videos are unedited but maybe this will help out a few of my fellow techs.

It was the APU clamp missing under the sheilding.the clue was in the bag of parts

Idk if you're reading the comments, but I've got a weird issue. I opened up mine after 4 years of owning it to clean the heatsink (from the power supply side, I didn't open up the top that exposes the motherboard) and the fan with q tips. I used a blowdryer at cool setting to clean off the dust and such. I reassembled it and I thought it'd be even better than before, but it started being obnoxiously loud with games. It doesn't turn off or anything. It's just the fan spinning at 100% speed when it doesn't have to. The PS4 even after hours of gaming is super cool and barely warm, but the god damn fan is mad loud and it's getting on my nerves. I made sure to not leave any screw unattended, but to no avail... Welp me

Try putting new thermal paste on the cpu, mine has the same problem I run bo4 and the fan bugs out spinning way to damn fast so ima try to add new thermal paste tomorrow to see if it fixes the problem

@@DaBossBigHead My thermal paste was completely dried out actually cuz I managed to open it up. I'm telling you the moment I change thermal paste, that shit will be flawless. I'll go buy CoolerMaster

I'm having a weird issue where I popped it open and applied new thermal paste, a replacement fan, and thermal pads for the nvram. but when the PS4 is laying flat down the fan is making a rubbing noise or a grinding noise. if I stand the ps4 on its side or put it in any other axis it is just fine?? Only when laying flat. guess I gotta pop it back open and I missed something?

Hey quick question ive clean my ps4 out and reassembled it. But the fan is now wayyy too fast and my ps4 just decides to turn off after like 2 min.What should i do?

Nevermind it was the thermal paste which needed a change

I took mine apart and cleaned it and now the fan speeds up really quick and it won’t let me start a game did u have that same problem?

ImRoyalDiamond its the thermal paste which needs changing, the fan only speeds up when it sensors the console getting too hot.

You need to connect to internet & try online that’s usually when the ps4 bugs out

Thats most likely what it is. Thermal paste only lasts about 3-4 years before it starts to degrade, and sony's stock thermal paste isn't that great in the first place.
