I was underwhelmed with the 1st two yrs of the PS4, but ended being one of my favorite generations...and that didnt have backwards compatibility unlike PS5
@@bojackson6558 what??? GTA V had a significant upgrade on ps4 all sports title were way better. God of War Spider-Man and Miles Morales Ghost of Tsu, Last of Us part 2, UNCHARTED 4 PS4 had helluva great games😤
@@tgreg9542 Spider-Man Web of Shadows, and arguably Shattered Dimensions are more fun to play than Insomniacs Spider-Man imo and came out 12 years earlier and were developed in a year God Of War 3 and ascension are more fun than 4 and still hold up pretty well graphically. Uncharted 1,2,3 Infamous 1,2 Little Big Planet 1 & 2 PS3 was way better
I've been very underwelmed. Nonstop remasters and remakes. It just feels the entire industry is creatively bankrupt which is sad considering we finally have powerful consoles that we have always dreamed of but devs are too lazy or cheap to want to make use of all that power. They just want to cash in on nostalgia until they get bought out by MS. what a sad fate
You are the only Person I’ve seen who shares my opinion the ps5 almost doesn’t make sense to get at this point. I can barely tell the difference graphically, it’s no major leap or step up. I haven’t purchased one yet but I’ve been confused how so many people haven’t had a negative opinion on the ps5. Thanks for a coherent response that makes sense to me.

I waited over a year before I finally got the chance to buy one, but so far it's been a good experience, the only hangup for me has been Plex which seems to have playback problems with videos already started, having to start playback from the beginning.
I'm very happy with mine, and with system updates have only improved it over time. There were originally some issues with crashes and lack of VRR support - but both have been corrected. Already some strong first party titles, IMO this is the best playstation relative to it's release date so far.
I don't really know how to put this but after two years, having a few couple of remakes and remasters as "showcase titles", three sequels and Returnal as an exclusive isn't really my idea of a 2 year launch of the PS5. I mean, heck, at this moment the PS5 has already outlived the Dreamcast, yet the Dreamcast had 248 titles released in the US during its short life. How come we we try to hype Sony's absolute failure on the software department?
@@stevebrown985 Seriously? So what you are saying is that Sony and Microsoft should release as few games as possible, because that's really how you create a thriving console generation? C'mon mate. You know that isn't the case, and it REALLY wasn't the reason the Dreamcast failed. I would argue that the opposite is true, this is the primary reason the Dreamcast still has a thriving community out there, still playing the games... I mean, I play on my Dreamcast at least once a week.
@@PixelShade no I'm saying when you throw out so many games you can't always put your best effort into it. Taking your time makes better games. @@stevebrown985 had nothing to do with them churning out games… Had everything to do with it being more expensive than the competition and every form and fashion … The Dreamcast was LITERALLY the PS3 of that generation
I have had my PS5 for over a year now and I can’t lie I’m still a bit disappointed hopefully some of the games coming out later this year changes my mind
I don't feel it is necessary to buy it right now , especially with all the games being released on the ps4 too , but after 2 years it'll be necessary and will be cheaper of course, personally i want to buy it for gta 6 and spiderman 2 and wolverine.
@@straightcash5551 yeah left behind with horizon forbidden west was released on ps4 and god of war ragnarok will be released on the ps4 and a lot of big games like hogwarts , yeah of course it'll be a better experience to play on ps5 , but it's not necessary to buy ps5, especially if you don't have the money or if you have other priority than buying ps5 , just don't act like a fanboy and clown , that you gotta buy the ps5 day 1 or year 1 to be a "real gamer" or a "real sony fan" which makes you a cash machine for sony
@Ahmad AlJassem atleast owning a last gen xbox I felt that way, like gta 5 getting cool new updates only on next gen for example literally just bought a ps5 today and can't wait to get home and play it after work
I have had my PS5 since launch and it has been worth it. Even for just the updated visuals compared to a base PS4. You can hardly get a comparable gpu for the same price. Yes, most of the games are available on PS4 still, but eventually they will not be. So, if someone is planning to get a PS5 eventually, then why wait? I prefer to get that top experience now. Even 2 years in, the value to performance of this generation is really good.
You must've got one of the good ones, got one on launch day too, but a few months later it's been having problems, it became defective, luckily I have the warranty, got a replacement, a lot of gamers were having problems with their PS5 as well, you're lucky you bought a real good one
I thought the exact when I got my ps4 I thought bang this is amazing and gonna stay that way till the ps5 comes annnd then smack to the face Sony bought the pro out and I just felt silly. I still haven't got a ps5 yet kinda feeling as soon as I do either Sony will bring out the ps5 slim or the ps5 pro
I was luck enough to get one but Its still in the box (my game room/guest bedroom is occupied by family ATM). Most games are basically super PS4 games and while I'm looking forward to playing it, it's not a huge deal because of that. Games like Gotham Knights will be next gen only so that will be a game to get excited over, but without the PS5 being readily available those games will be the exception not the rule.
Absolutely fantastic review! I was second guessing my pre-order of the PS5 for the end of October but now I’m suuuper stoked to receive it. Even 2 years later it still feels like you’re in an exclusive club if you can get your hands on one!
I suggest looking up cheap pc builds I couldn't get my hands on a ps5 since they where always sold out literally everywhere I looked so I looked up stuff about Pcs not really expecting to find anything affordable but to my surprise I found many cheap pc builds for gaming that run extremely well and the best part is most of them were cheaper than buying a ps5 and you can always keep upgrading your pc as you get more money.
Just got my PS5 finally a week ago and man I freaking love it. Dual Sense controller is amazing and Ghost of Tsushima at buttery smooth 60fps and amazing graphics is phenomenal.
Honestly we can’t really say that its an “improvement” from the nintendo switch since ps5 doesn’t have switch exclusive games, I would say we can’t really compare them like that.
Anyway, this Zippo lighter some dude had back in 87 looked like it had Spiderman on his driving a Harley but turns out it was just a biker with his vest blowing behind him. Looked like a cape tho. We all got a good laugh.
What’s better ps5 or the series X? I’m on the fence about getting the ps5, but I’ve seen a lot of problems with them just shutting off and pooping the bed. Input would be appreciated
I have both and haven't had any issues with either console. My only issue with the ps5 is the built in controller battery only gives about 10 hours of gaming before it needs charged. My series x controller lasts a bit longer and can use rechargeable or non-rechargeable batteries.
@@darkshadows8347 that’s what I noticed. I ordered another controller cuz I charge on at least once sometimes twice a day. I’ve had my ps5 for 2 months and love it
Im blow away how good the ps5 is. You get to play many of the top games from ps4 that run better and you get the latest next gen games that take advantage of the new hardware as well as play some very old classics too. Definitely my second favorite console ever. Ps1 is my favorite since childhood time it was the most funnest console. Definitely liking the ps5
i love my ps5 but i also have a ps4 that i want to play on since i have a playstation bro but my controllers won’t turn on any ideas how to turn it on, please help.
The only issue I’ve had w the 5 ps5s I’ve owned since January is that after playing a game or a few games for a while, if I wanna access the store or something like that, it says “error” and in order to access anything besides a actual game or media app (Netflix etc) I have to restart the ps5. Don’t know why it does that, if anyone knows why I’d appreciate it if u lmk

Its a shame to make such a good console for such crappy games. The memory does need to be improved, you should be able to instantly play a shelf full of games without spending the equivalent of the console on memory
I do want a ps5 but as of right now there is no point of me getting it until the new spider man game comes out. That and my p4 is not that old so it still works good as new.
Anyone know if playstation exclusives will stay on Psplus Extra for ever. I've held off subscribing because they are removing RDR2 and WCR10 a month or so into the new Psplus. Not too bothered about none exclusive game's.
Yeah Naruto games available for the PS five that you mentioned are worth buying the PS five yet there’s still nothing that’s only available on the PS five that makes it worth purchasing for that reason

@@tgreg9542 I know this from working there. So many Xbox elite controllers were coming back with regular xbox controllers 😂 They made sure after that happened. To let the younger generation or people that know what to look for. They even went as far as making sure we check the serial number on the controller was matching the one on the box. That’s why it’s better if it’s an old ass lil lady working the counter cuz you could put a ps2 controller and they wouldn’t even know lmao
His conclusion was not time to make it all it was emotional gas at what it’s going on in there it couldn’t mean it just the absent it could mean that the new calling system is shedding more heat instead of staying inside the console

No, not yet, it's ridiculous. It's happening since ps4. Playstation is losing quality lately while MS Xbox is buying bethesda and other gaming companies. I think PS will die pretty soon if they don't sort their stuff out.
In Sweden you still can't buy it for shit, I lucked out just last week and got one for the normal price if you want one it's 30% more to get one, honestly 2 years in, and its still impossible to buy one if you wanted
For the games that are actually out, totally worth it, they play amazing. But it's an extremely slow trickle of games. Like this is the slowest roll out of games I can recall.
I think one problem is PS5 came out before the new game engines like Unreal5. You need new game engines to make next gen game graphics. Then it takes 3-4 years to make a good game like Red Dead Redemption 2, or GTA5. They can reskin old games, but Unreal came out in 2021, and it might be 2023-2025 till we see any new stuff. With Unreal5 you can reskin any games graphics that was made with Unreal4. So expect reskinned re-releases sooner than new games. Fortnite has updated to Unreal5 in 2021 with reskinned graphics.
Every console was like that when it was new. We are only less than 2 years into this console generation and already have gt7, soon another final fantast.. im liking the lineup of games so far
Bro get the 2 year warrantys at places like Best buy and gamestop. Make sure to always get the same color. And then when you get drift you take it back for a new one. They dont know which controller is which

I would only get it if you don't have a ps4 pro. No point on spending $500 or more on a base model console since the slim is going to reveal sometime this year.
100% did Performance: Delivered Ray Tracing in AAA games at 60FPS, 120FPS in selected games, Native 4K Support VRR High speed SSD Games: Ps5 is the only platform with Next gen games period until 2023 atleast. UI and interface: Truly next gen with good quality, no menu lag. Controller: Haptic feedback, Adaptive, build in Microphone. And most importantly third party games... Of course with the best performance on Ps5! It indeed lived up its hype
Ps5 is only missing two things.... Freesync and 1440p support..... Sony truly failed with not adding these.... with Freesync non Hdmi 2.1 could take advantage of VRR(even hdmi 1.4 displays support Freesync) Now only hdmi 2.1 user can take advantage of VRR which is roughly only 20% of all Ps5 users.. Up to this day I have no logical explanation on why Sony still didn't support Freesync and 1440p
I’m a PS guy since day one with the PSOne and I have to admit I’m a bit disappointed with the PS5 at least me I still find myself playing PS4 game and the “update” version of GTA5 but that’s just me or I’m probably getting old
If you have a Ps4 Pro and a PS5. Just return the PS5 or sell it. The slight performance upgrade isn't worth it. Supersampling alone on the PS4 Pro makes it worth keeping. Both have graphic and performance modes. And you'll get your 500-700$ back. Yes to me, the slight performance upgrade is not worth the hype. Use that extra money to spoil yourself on a dinner night out by yourself or a weekend vacation with the significant other.
Had it since day one. Am completely underwhelmed. Spend most of my time on it watching RU-vid because the games are just low dopamine. I can't wait until stuff starts getting made with unreal engine 5, then maybe we will get that "next gen experience". Or when developers stop handicapping production with last gen in mind.
NO, that wont happen. You forget that people has to put these games together. The more advanced programs the harder it becomes to do. It's not profitble.
@@youareacoward8459 The programs aren't getting more "advanced". Not for the developers anyways. They are advanced in the sense that they are making creating games easier. They are getting EASIER for developers to use. Allowing them to spend more time on important things instead of things that used to take ages, like textured and lighting, that can now be done with ease thanks to unreal engine. It does a lot of the work for the developers. Also machine learning helps and AI. So I have no idea what you are talking about.
Pandemic has really slowed release schedules--not just for Sony, but also Microsoft. I view it as an affordable entry point to next gen graphics and experiences over the next couple of years. And if you haven't played some of the PS4's stellar titles, there is some performance improvement from those games, too.
