same. mines actually the complete opposite. I don't even use the controller to wake the ps5 back up, I use the HDMI features to wake up the ps5 from the TV's input instead. Maybe that's why I never have an issue.

I've had mine since launch. Have always had rest mode issues. I've tried everything including these things. A couple of months ago I changed the auto sign in to off, and fully shut it down. Then unplugged power source, unplugged HDMI, and also the LAN cable. Plugged everything in 10 minutes later and I haven't had a rest mode issue since. Not saying it's a fix, but it's worked for me so far, knock on wood.

@@Hingle_Mcringleberry That's what's up. Since I turned off the HDMI link my PS5 has remained issue free. If it starts happening again I'm going to try out your solution. Super glad that we're figuring out solutions to this problem cuz it was driving me god damn crazy.

Same case happens on PS4 also . Because of Load shedding in our country, power cuts off once in a day for few minutes but the problem is the PS4 can't start up again properly instead "Safe mode" screen show up , in which it tell the user to reinstall the system again thus loosing all the saved data and users.Which is so annoying and depressing.Why ps4 and PS5 so weak ? PS3 didn't have any of this issues .

You should never use rest mode any device. When you PC and PS5 is on the has fan but in rest mode the ni fan and just keep get hot with nothing to cold it.

May be better to just turn off the ps5. We don't have to leave downloads on overnight for a game (I improved my legacy router though for some reason my Xbox one is faster, but still it's 3 times faster like Char Aznable when I play gundam lol). I am glad people online are identifying flaws with the ps5, especially as we shouldn't toss out our ps3 when it can't run some ps1 games properly let alone cost more while lacking manuals. I'm Good with old-fashioned rumble without needing a silly default mic off to activate it and lock on triggers which get old.

Mine has power going to it constantly the plug is always in the wall . I use rest mode alot and it crashes all the time. The hdmi control is the only thing that could be causing my issue now that I watched the video. It makes sense that when the TV energy save powers off it turns the system off as well.

No. Who unplugs their system after putting it into rest mode or turning it off? This is not a power cord issue

Power outages, dependign on where you are the power can turn off briefly (or not so briefly) in the night or whenever. Expect it more and more as they keep coming after our energy grid, like in CA. And if they declare a you know what emergency like they are drooling to, get used to this.

Is the device link even needed at all? I mean what's the point?

device link sucks on the PS5, between other things, it should be supposedly useful to turn the tv alongside the console and vise versa, but it doesn't do any of that and instead turns on only when I use the device link on my series X. it's a real mess.

In my case, having it on did turn on the TV and system but it also frequently crashed when going into rest mode. Now it's back to the old days of turning each device on and scrolling through the input channels lol

This happens to me almost every time I boot the PS5. 4-5 days a week since forever. I give up on rest mode.

You haven't had issues with the UPS battery? I haven't got one yet but ppl are saying that since the power bank is 255w, it's pretty much useless to the ps5 since it consumes 350w. Do you happen to use a better one?

I only had this problem happen one time and it was the first week of release.. I really don’t think this is much of an issue anymore. I use rest mode everyyy day allll the time. I do have that hdmi device link turned off and that seemed to be the issue

I’m sure this problem isn’t as common as it looks. It’s never happened to me… but I have also always made my settings in the same way he said to put them, so maybe that helps too.

Hey. I ran into a problem today (the second day since I got my PS5). I had left a game to download and it probably went into rest mode and when I came back, the screen was blank and nothing I did (even long pressing the power button) was turning on the PS5/display. I had to turn off the power source for a few minutes and then switched it on to make it work. Have you experienced this? I will disable the HDMI link now, as the PS5 tis turning on with my TV

Not even 2 days later, after I put it in rest mode a green screen appears, and the console completely shuts down. As far as I have seen, Sony has not made rest mode safe for use on the current and past generation.

That's quite the uniformed claim there. I've been using it non stop since I got my PS5 in August 21. Please stop saying stuff based on anecdotal evidence, if it was unstable the majority of users would have issues with it. This internet of just saying shit because you got keyboard and fingers needs to stop, you don't have evidence to prove those claims, you don't even have the data on figures of who uses it and who doesn't, data of the number of PS5 digital or standard. Nothing, just baseless claim because early on after release it had issues. You'd get fired if you worked for a company and said unsubstantiated stuff like you're saying. It's easier to say, you don't trust it because "I don't think it's stable" you can't take your opinion and use it as fact, that's not how things work on life. Also are Astros you're using officially liscensed products, pretty sure if they are then they'd work more often than not when charging on rest mode, if they aren't then you know why, they aren't official and probably reverse engineered it and guessed the power draw from rest mode. There's always tiers, I've never seen any Astro A50 officially license for use with PS5 by Sony, so can you enlighten us all? Using unlicensed peripherals on the console is user risk, Sony has zero accountability when you do that.
