Hi, just a recommendation for people. When opening the trigger mechanism you actually don't need to remove the black round gear since it does not obstruct the pin holding the trigger cap. Just leave it exactly in place and do not move its position, doing so will make sure you reassemble it correctly. Thanks for this video it's really helpful

I would have LOVED if you had actual closeups of the really detailed parts. Please do that if you ever make another video. I completed the controller, but not without a lot of hassle because these scenes were not zoomed in enough.

My controller is different than this one.. it doesn’t have a white piece at the top, only the clear plastic. Also no screws on the top portion where the mapping is for the buttons. The way the triggers are installed is way different on mine too. I have the BDM-020, can you please make an updated video

Thank you! Great video and was extreme-ly (sorry) helpful when replacing my buttons. I replaced my touch pad as well (had done this already on ps4 controller so I knew how) and all went well. Only problem is my controller is a bit different than this one and I had one screw left over, no idea where it came from 😅 oh well lol I'm sure it won't make a difference anyhow...thanks again 🙂

I purchased a couple of these kits months ago so i could color code my controllers. I purchased a new controller the other day and was wondering if there are any plans to make a kit like this for the new model. Thanks much and after 6 months of daily use the other kits are holding up great!

hey guys, just finished installing one of your kits. worked great. however you should update the video to work with the newer version of the dual sense. There are some differences in assembly I had to guestimate. All in all though, quality product, I purchased the translucent blue ones with the front cover as well for my light blue V2 DS5. Looks amazing now.

I have a question are the ps5 controller buttons similar to a psp? they look quite similar but do they feel similar?

Are you not supposed to put the tension springs back on the L2 and R2 buttons? I replaced mine and now the L2 and R2 buttons are kind of tight. When I press them down they hold in that position for a second or 2 before snapping back up to their normal position. Any advice or tips to correct this would be greatly appreciated.

I got some chrome buttons for my old ps4 controller a few years ago (not from you) and after a couple weeks the chrome finish started wearing off...I want the chrome now for my other ps5 controller but will that happen again with these?

I have a bdm-020 and the triggers dont work i got it on ebay and the package says extremerate and i noticed the black piece that goes inside l2/r2 dont sit well and the button gets stuck when i click it hard any fix?

Do all your button kits come with the l2/r2 pieces? I heard you have to remove them from the OG controller which isnt easy

I recently purchased your Lofty Remap Kit for my Xbox One controller, reading the manual and looking at all the circuits I see it has room for two extra K buttons (K3 and K4) but the back shell has no room for these, is there any backshell with 4 holes for the K buttons on this kit? Holy cow! I almost crapped myself doing this! Don't get me wrong, the instructions are great, easy to follow, and over all the process was a lot simpler than I thought it would be. My issue was at 13:47. I went to grab that pin for the trigger and... where did it go?... I laid it down with the rest of the items, but it was gone! I moved everything around even ended up cleaning my desk off thinking it may have rolled under something. I checked the floor, my pockets, and even my shoes. Couldn't find that sucker anywhere...! After 45 Minutes of searching I finally resigned myself to getting a new Controller, and began putting what I could back together and GUESS WHAT I FOUND STUCK TO THE HAPTIC MOTOR! That little sucker must have rolled a little and got picked up by the magnetic part of the motor. SO... Pay attention folks and check the magnets!

Cool thing is the r1 and l1 can come off easily and be changed just like the front faceplate can everything else of course you have to take the controller apart for

Would the metal buttons from the ps4 controller fit on the ps5 controller?

Triggers didnt fit and i had to force it back out sense the metal bar was jammed in there i was able to fix it and put the old black ones back on but now my controller does a constant click on the right trigger mechanism at all times when the controller is on

Do you guys make independent d'pad buttons for the ps5, Instead of it being one full piece? I play alot of fighting games that need precise inputs. The ps5 stock d'pad isn't good for that, if you push left you see the whole d'pad move. Please and thank you

If you just want to do the back buttons (R1,R2 L1,L2) do you have go right down to the mother board or can you just flip and change them

PLEASE RESPOND; so I did this with my faceplate like 5 times or more like that all day on online school, and the l2 button Is sticking and the adaptive works and it just sticks down snd the r2 button is clicking like tic Tic Tic. It’s annoying and i did this process and I have been watching this video a lot too and I commented a while ago on the other controller (touchpad) that’s fixed and I got new r2 and l2 shocks and that does not work. And whenever I close my controller (when I’m done,) the l2 button gets stuck when you press it snd you have to like pull it up. So please help me!

I reassembled my controller with no problems however now the controller has a weird clicking sound that happens at random? Not from any of the buttons like the controller itself just makes a click sound

I was hoping to find a faster method, but I guess that's as fast as it gets. I hate how changing the R2/L2 buttons makes the process much longer and a bit trickier. The rest is pretty quick and easy.

It took me a little time because I tightened the screws too much, but finally got the red chrome buttons and joysticks on mine.

4:35 shows how well these are put together when the masters even have difficulty getting them apart! 👌

For some reason the Clicky Trigger switches do not work with the L2 of this kit. R2 works perfectly though. Is this a manufacturing tolerance thing or is there any other known fix?

After getting mine in pink Everything fit exdcpt the triggers I literally had to sand them down in the back just to get then to fit in the housing I discovered the paint was the problem I thought the plastic was pink all the way through But sanding down the back showed me that its white plastic with pink paint Maybe go thinner when apply the coats please. Other then that the buttons work and everything fits

Does anyone know if there's a way to remove and re-use the black inserts for the L2 and R2 buttons, I bought a replacement button set but it doesn't come with those parts, so I'm up to the part in the guide where you swap those buttons but can't pull the inserts from the L2 or R2 buttons. Is there a tag or catch that I need to loosen? Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Just wondering if you sell the trigger ribbons at all? Tried replacing mine only to notice a slight split in it for some reason come to re assemble it and notice it wasn't functioning properly, x etc so come to open it again and notice the ribbon for the left trigger had completely split 😏

Can't I just pop off the actual trigger from the piece inserted at 11:21like in this video ru-vid.comP_2d6M-lw_s? Does doing this break it? Cuz it looked like it worked for him. It just doesn't seem necessary to take apart the entire trigger mechanism. I just want to replace my l2 since it chipped. And I didn't really want to take apart the entire controller to do so.

Just wanted to point out that there is a new PS5 controller revision that is not fully compatible with these replacement buttons. I just got my hands on a PS5 and bought an additional controller. The internals of the controller that came with the PS5 are slightly different. In particular, R2 and L2 have a new internal shape, so the replacements do not fit properly (The trigger will not be able to press down all the way). I struggled with my first controller for about an hour and then decided to open the other one and compare. The replacement L2 and R2 fit right away into the "older" version of the controller. The new revision has all silver screws instead of black, and does not have the white plastic bar shown at 6:55. If you have one of those I would recommend not even trying replacing the shoulder buttons. The face buttons come off exactly the same as shown in the video though.
