Are you team Thiccc boi or Slim Jim? 🤔 Edit: Let me make something clear. The slim IS more efficient and uses less power than the LAUNCH PS5. However, It has the same silicon as the revised ps5 with smaller heat sink which at the time of recording I even forgot they had a revision. I’m not purposely spreading misinformation. Context is key. 🔑
I think that if you're not getting the disc version of the slim which I'm going to do you're getting fucked over all around. the whole point of them producing the slim version is so that they can make the console at a cheaper cost and pass the savings on to the customer, which they are obviously not doing in this case
@@Mrporker9268first of all why should I have to make it vertical? The slim versions will always pack better temp and sound, I used ps4 slim before I got ps4 pro so I know also I had PS3 super slim. I been waiting for a ps5 Pro but this one is actually looking smaller than the ugly of ps5, will definitely buy this if there's no hope for a ps5 pro
@@Mrporker9268u don’t have to put it vertical😭 it’s an option, even tho it looks nice I’m still getting the ps5 slim because it’s smaller more quieter and uses less of the electricity I pay for
Someone needs to make a modern PS3 with new hardware it would be able to run new games I wonder if you could put the PS5 processor inside of a PS3 we could be paying next gen games online for free I miss Sony being free online 😭🤣
just sold my og ps5 due to the power outage, i'm honestly amazed at how slightly small it is, but one thing i hate is the vertical stand they sold separately, should've been included inside the box.
@@leirurock504 It's a tech reviewer with long or curly hair, I forgot his name because I don't even watch him. But I tested it if it's quieter but it's not, the og Ps5 is a tad quieter than the Slim according to my tests and other people's test I found on RU-vid but not as loud as a jet engine.
Bro I just copped the slim myself it does the same shit the original does lol the vertical stand ain't a con cause you can still have it sit horizontally it's the same exact one with a little extra memory that's it
Waited 3 years for the slim, now got it under my TV and pimped it out with black covers and a black controller, lookin slick and I'm made up with the upgrade, well worth the wait 😁👍
@@nee7895 It doesn't use less electricity bc it has the same nm chip. Slower? No, still the same tech as the Og Ps5. Less fps? That's true if it was overused or too hot.
Yeah well the slim is basically just the slightly better version of the normal one (1TB of storage instead of 600GB) and replaces it‘s previos version in the market now… The stand is not delivered with the PS5 anymore because of the cooling liquid dripping when in vertical position, so it doesn‘t promote future Issues. So lay that thing down…
ima go with the slim because its so light and u can take it anywhere even in ur backpack but the old ps5 is very hard to take with u and is very heavy and u can barely fit it in a suitcase (i tried before) and the slim fits perfectly and u can even take it on vacation
@ratchet2007 Cap. Heats faster. Looks cheap and trash. No vertical stand. Weaker and more chances to break. Prone to scratches. Disc drive is only there to break obviously. Yes the full 1 TB is good but 200GB is just good enough for 1 AAA game. More chances for Dust to get jammed. Im happy I didn't choose that trash. I'd rather buy a Xbox series S.
I'm still rocking the ps4, do you think I should get the original or the ps5 slim? Disc versions... the pro is probably too far away for me to wait now I'm getting bored 😂
I own a ps5 slim digital edition and tbh its awesome and came with 2 stands which are quite diffrent to adjust and i set it up yesterday today i played spiderman on it for 4 hours and it didnt heat up ur anything it was running smooth highly recommend everyone to buy it its worth the money. 🔥🔥
@ibi123.. I’ve owned a og ps5 & I’ve been having problems with it recently & i noticed how much it gets hot or heats up or whatever.. how’s your ps5 slim doing now? Does it stay cool or heat up
@@bandup_c its been a while it doesn't heat up much bro but sometimes when I play a heavy game like cod or fortnite for a few hours straight it heats up slightly but tbh heating up a little bit is not a problem bro if it heats up like a toaster than just put ur ps5 in to sleep mode and let it be for 10-15 mins and it will cool down.
$30 for a useless piece of plastic is wild. I Remember my Wii came with a stand for free. But fr though that stand better have something to make it worth it
Remind me of a time I bought an overpriced washing machine(LG). They said it was "Bluetooth." I said "I don't need Bluetooth, I just needed to wash my laundry!!"it was the only machine I could get within one week.
@@actual_doge3221 at first i was around when the virus started but i didn't get it it's to big heavy build like a big fish tank the ps5 slim is going to be 30 percent less smaller and easy to carry so i'm good
I had the OG PS5 digital but ended up going for the Slim with a Disc Drive. Honestly it is an improvement to me in the sense of not having to always buy games from PSN. Which can be pretty expensive at times. Plus, I also get to extend my physical media collection and play them any time
Yea it doesn’t come with a vertical stand but it comes with horizontal stands and if you have your ps5 standing vertical it will melt a chip inside the console because it retains more heat standing up
Not a fact anymore maybe even a myth mine been standing for couple years now no issues along with my friends no issues were gonna keep letting the stand that was beginning batch of ps5 consoles if it was true
A myth said that it would 'melt' the already liquid metal. What's more is that this issue affected very small amounts of PS5s that had previously been opened fully, or modified
This is a fact I bought my PS5 when they first came out at 900.00. I had it up on the stand and it stopped cutting on. It just beeps with no operation. Put all your PS5 horizontal trust me.
@@igotbored-minecraftit requires Internet to set up, not to play. If your disk drive breaks or something, you can replace it easily. Good luck doing that with the Old PS5
I like the old model 100 times better, is quiet, works well, I like the design, it comes with the vertical stand, the only bad I can really say about the old model is that is huge but gladly have enough space in my gaming area so is not a problem for me personally. Old model THE GOAT !!!
I just bought an OG one as well, cuz it has the same exact specs as the Slim and I prefer the design of the OG model. Also runs a bit cooler and quieter since it has a larger fan/cooling system. 👍🏻
@@Bird-w7f Yes. Sony stopped production of the og model in October. When the remaining og models sell out, (which will be soon) the slim will be the only PS5 model available.
For reference, PS5 slim use cheaper materials to reduce production cost and they also removed the grills protecting the cooling fans thus more dust gets inside the covers. First design PS5 is better.
that’s a cap, mine has the grills and the materials aren’t cheaper at all. You’re just a guy who can’t accept slim is slightly better in most scenarios.
@@Perasfield What? I'm not saying this because I care about the Slim vs OG. I'm saying this because others on Reddit and RU-vid has stated with facts that the redesign PS5 are usually made with cheaper materials to increase profits for Sony. You can look it up.
Same here I had the choice and I just like the design of the original model better I can always add more storage later on down the line and I also like the fact that it has its own dedicated stand that you don't have to purchase separately, let's be honest those lil clip on feet were a horrible idea like someone at Sony forgot that some people like to lay their consoles horizontal and it has no vent gates dust and debris have a straight shot at the fan especially if people have it vertical
@@dannyrivera8300Same here, waited and debated between the OG and Slim model and decided on the OG model. Same specs and I like the design better, and it also apparently runs a bit quieter and cooler than the Slim
@@dannyhuynh7998 the design of the new PS5 scares me like I said there's basically no protection when it comes to Dust because there aren't any vents protecting it when stood vertical everything is pretty much wide open you can actually see and touch the fan while it's running I would suggest laying it horizontal and not vertical ... I do like that the plates are basically clip on and they just pop off easier than the OG what I don't like is that it has a smaller heatsink and a more complicated airflow system then the OG if you couldn't find one and you wanted one then I get it ... The main drawback of the OG is the size and less storage but honestly like I said add an SSD and you're golden ... With the new model you just have to be a lot more vigilant when it comes to cleaning your console and I'm sure Sony understood that because the fan can be easily unplugged to be cleaned while the OG is a little more complicated...
No need to upgrade my ppl … These things do the same exact things they just make them look different..For instance, the new Spider-Man edition that just dropped is simply a $40 skin cover you can buy and put on your standard ps5 and all they did was customize the controller.. Don’t give them the illusion to waste your money 🎉Hope I saved someone’s pockets today 🎉
@@Undeathwulf it technically is the same the console takes a couple hundred gbs already for console storage at the end of the day who cares about storage u will have to buy storage anyways 1tb is a lot in your head
Why do you prefer the old ps5? You already got more storage than the old one and it has a better design and the best thing about it that the disk drive can pop off, which is very fixable somehow you disc drive broken and you can’t pop it off as the old one. You can just pop the disk drive easily and fix it
I think the redesign is nice looks like how it was probably intended instead of the big one which I also have one of them but there’s really no difference other then size and a little more shine on the slim also the front USB on the slim is now a USB C port and no side grilles I like the slim down but if you have an OG I’d just keep it no need to replace it ❤😂😊
They moved the hdmi port away from the motor because the regular 5s kept frying them and added a not only removable but replaceable for 80 bucks if needed disk drive. Considering every playstation I've ever owned from the 1 to 4 has only ever had disk error problems and cost me atleast 100 bucks to repair I'd say the slim is the better choice aslong as the rest of the system holds up decently. The only only downside is the stand options and skins really.
I brought the Ps5 slim digital. It runs really well but I have to admit that I will be getting the disk drive soon but other then that it is a really good console
As someone who doesn’t have the ps5 (still rocking the ps4 pro with SSD and 2 TB storage.) I think the new slim is awesome. Couldn’t stand how big and bulky the other was one. This new one is gonna make that old phat model so dated. It reminds me of a big VCR haha I love how my ps3 , ps4 pro and when I get the new slim will all have a cohesive size next to each other. 🎉❤
Ikr bro, all these ppl who made the quick decish to buy ps5 are all attached 😂 i didnt get it bc of how ugly it is. Switching from PS4 Pro to PS5 Slim as soon as i can
@@dannyhuynh7998 both work basically the same same. There might be a difference here or there but nothing I will actually notice while playing. It’s just the slim version, not the pro one.
@dannyhuynh7998 but they both work exactly the same lol so it this case it is about looks and size and why do alot of gamers get upset when people care to much about how their console looks lol
As an person who just bought the original ps5 i think it has a better design, i wanted the slim but it looked ugly to me so i just bought the original.
I prefer my old one I love my PS5 I bought a hard drive for it on Amazon I don't care how the graphics looks what matters is now that I got the PS5 and it's over and done with I got the hard drive I got all my games I'm all set so I'm staying with old is there any new games coming I'm going to play with my old PS5 I think I had it for like 4 years and it's better I'll buy a stand on Amazon I'm completely fine with my old one thank you
I just got my ps5 almost 2 weeks ago and during the near 1 week mark of me having the PS5, not even that, Sony releases the slim. Imma stick with a traditional launch model
It still has 3 fans like the ps5 and it's quieter and more customizable and you can put it vertically and horizontally unlike the ps5 which they say is that you better put it horizontally because of something dripping on the motherboard and it has more storage and it's smaller and less expensive. To me that sounds like a great deal @@xPremiumRabbitx
I just prefer the old design. More pronounced collar, imo looks sleeker with more flowing lines and less harsh lines. So glad i got the old one a few days before they took it off sale
@@afronautexplorer144you don’t know what the heck you’re talking about the ps5 slim is made with cheaper parts so do the math smaller size and cheaper parts it should cost less however this was all apart of Sony plan to make more money it’s that simple
i picked up the Slim as my first PS5 after i got sick of waiting for good titles on the series X, bestt hing ive done in years! the games have kept me busy all holiday season. GOT is insane! now jumping into GOW. Then ill head over to last of us part 1, oh man! so much content! P.S5 slim is nice looking and quite, looking forward to the ps5 pro however!
Get slim . No one tells about it but OG ps5 had 7 nm chip. Slim has 6nm chip, which is more power efficient and that’s the reason it’s smaller in size as it doesn’t need those complex components.
I just got a lightly-used original PS5 disc version, a vertical stand (which has fans for the PS5 and two charging docks for the controllers), with 2 controllers and a _nice_ HyperX headset (and all the wiring needed)... all for $400. I've been playing AC Origins on it for the last week or so, and I gotta say... I love the thing, and I love watching videos and learning ways to make it better. The next step for it is either an external drive (way cheaper) or an SSD upgrade (way more sleek).
I feel more tempted for the slim than the first model tbh, and i say tempted cause i still don't have one but planning to buy one to play Dragon'a Dogma 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
I don't recommend the Disk version, my disk reader messed up in about half a year. But if it's $50 more, buy one of the disk and you can just take it out. It's super easy. You don't have to unscrew any screws or anything
