Before the new consoles came out I had a PS4 Pro and Xbox and ended up purchasing too many of the same games on both consoles (playing with different friends). I decided I would not do that this time. After watching many videos trying to decide, hearing your idea of purchasing the PS5 for my "purchase" games and a Series S just for game pass has really got me thinking this may be solved. Thanks!

idk if you saw the recent showcases but x bobx has way more exclusives coming in the next 2 years. starfield is MUST! PS4 was the better console last gen, its flipped; series x has killing!

@@InfamuzCRS agreed bout redfall. but that was a disaster waiting to happen as it started out as a live service game. Im not arguing bout ps library atm, I'm talking the next 3 years this gonna be a lot of fun as this will hopefully get ps back to making hose bangers that defined the last gen as well. (Never personally was ever a GOW fan or comic book games, so that def sways my opinion as well). Salutes and enjoy!

I am one of the lucky ones to have both systems, but I must admit to thinking multiple times selling my Series X due to lack of strong exclusives, if Starfield doesn’t come through I’ll stick with my PS5 for the rest of the generation.

Great insight. I run a PS5 and Series S with Gamepass for the same reasons you point out. The only knock I have with the Series S is 120hz at 1080p

Also I think its good to mention a game like warzone 2 on xbox series s only gives you between 60-80 fps which means you won't really be taking advantage of the 120hz the console offers.

@@blame1991WZ2 is a very demanding game on hardware. Even for the Series X, the most powerful GPU of the this console gen, it struggles to hit 120 at 1080

I have all three: PS5, Series X, and Switch., and I love them all in their own ways. First time since the 6th gen that I've had all 3 current gen consoles and I love it. (Personally, I've just always counted Dreamcast, which I also had, in with the PS1, N64 gen.)

In my opinion each have their own strengths. The Switch for playing both TV and on the go, Xbox for game pass and quick resume and PS5 for best graphics and controller feedback.

I have a ps5, series x and a switch. I did this last generation as well and it spoiled me so now I play both. It just depends where the games are and which platform a game will run best on and I will play on that one.

Also you can play older games on the Xbox all the way back to the original Xbox. Sony lied to us and changed their minds about allowing PS3 games to be emulated on PS5. Pretty sad. Xbox is king this generation.

I love my PlayStation so much. First 6 months I never used it but been putting in hours on it recently. Also got the Duelsense Edge Pro it’s amazing. Don’t really like what they’re doing with Project Q though. Hope they have something planned for it. They also took an L making the plus exclusives for plus extra only.

I have a Xbox series S and 2 years of gamepass left, I also use Microsoft rewards credits to buy games. Basically I spent 450$ on the console and so far and about 200$ on games and gamepass, and I don't plan to spend any single penny more, I have the games I wanted to play and feels great. If I had bought a PS5, things would have been vastly different and I would probably be playing the same games over and over again because of not having a budget to buy the new game. With that said I still want to have a PS5 but for now Series S will have to do it.

Great review Tom! My system this generation is Series S only, I also think same as you it's the most good looking of the 3 consoles. As a casual gamer also think the Xbox is the most budget friendly. And day one releases is great also

Xbox is also the most budget friendly even if you buy the Series X if you earn points with MS Rewards. I usually don't have to pay for Game Pass, and that's one thing keeping me from going back to playstation.

GAh!!!! I currently have a switch and a PS4, and this week decided to start researching a next gen console. The PS4 was given to me by a mate of mine who got a PS5. Ive only played a few games Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead 2 and The Witcher 3 on it. I have a massive xbox 360 collection and a 360 sitting there (not being used really). Im leaning towards a PS5 with a disc drive but I feel like im gonna miss out on a lot with Xbox....maybe ill get a PS5 and a Series S with Gamepass down the line or would it be fun to get an Xbox 1 for cheaps?!

I have a PS5 disc edition on my 65” LG CX OLED and a Polk Audio Soundbar. I love it except I have started seeing some slight burn in on my TV. I will be sure NOT to buy an OLED for my next TV as I play a lot of video games. It’s an AMAZING display but burn is real!

@@HeyWaveyWayI’ve got them both and actually prefer the Xbox series X the ps5 has more exclusives but i prefer the Xbox for multiplayer games and game pass and i like the controller more because I’ve always liked the xbox controllers the ps5 battery is trash i got the play and charge kit and it last me over 2 weeks on one charge the haptic feedback back on the ps5 was cool but then the gimmick wears off lol both great consoles

Personally I like the feel and the design of the Series X much more but once you boot up the console PS5 feels much more premium. Series X feels like they’re using bootleg window 10. For a controller PS5 feels like true next experience while xbox stayed with old faithful.

I love PS5 for the exclusives, but I love the Xbox Series X for everything else. The Xbox controller is especially preferable for the ergonomics. PS5 controller haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are neat, but ultimately the placement of the left stick, d-pad, and overall size and comfort is inferior to the Xbox controller. If I could play PS5 with an Xbox controller, or Xbox with access to the PS5 exclusives, then it would be perfect.

Got both SX & PS5. Honestly they are both worth buying. I prefer to play on the SX though as the console is quiet and the controller feels better (besides the trigger buttons of course). The PS5 is quieter than the PS4 Pro but still sounds like a starting engine compared to the SX.

Bought a series X last year when I couldn’t get PS5. Enjoyed the experience of Halo, mass effect and EA library. But always still missed my PS exclusives and of course most of my friends game on PS. Big thing is if you’ve played on one or the other for a very long time. Switching platforms messes with your muscle memory for controls.

@@clkgtr12 That is absolutely true, but I like the convenience of a console and it is more comfortable, also my TV is bigger than my monitor and I can play at a distance by sitting more comfortably on a couch than a chair, but yes this also depends person to person, and I think you should consider all factors and only then make a decision. Though there are still some games which I'd prefer to play on PC rather than console, for example shooter games with joystick I just don't like , like PUBG etc, I am comfortable with a mouse shooting than joystick shooting. But yeah I do get your point, if there is any game, I would actually play it either on PC or console, I wouldn't play it on both. So after thinking, yes I still need console but I won't say it has to be xbox anymore, it depends on your liking.

I’ve always been on Xbox since gta4 first dropped. Had a ps2 and loved a few games but killzone was my favourite. I don’t prefer one over the other but I wasn’t buying both especially since even getting one of them was very difficult.

i have a ps5 and Xbox series x and a PC (risen 7 3700x 1650 super) nothing crazy for the PC. not having much fun gaming now as I'm more on xbox but not enjoying the games to play and PS5 exclusives are great but its dry until spiderman 2 comes out. debating if I should just sell my xbox. Cant tell if I'm maturing to the point where I no longer find games fun or if there just isn't anything enjoyable atm. very fortunate to be where I'm at in terms of consoles though will never deny that

I have a PC and a Switch. While I grew up more towards Xbox, I went with the PS5 this generation, mainly for it's exclusive single player games and so I have something that's more powerful than my Switch that I can play couch multiplayer. PC will always be my go-to for online multiplayer and anything that isn't on PC, but I'm impressed by the PS5.

I own both consoles I enjoy both worlds I had my PS5 since launch day & I got my son a PS5 for his 13th birthday in September 2022. I got an xbox series x in October 2022 it’s my second xbox ever my first xbox was the xbox one s I only been with xbox for five years but i’m mostly on my PS5 it’s where I have most my friends at plus I grew up on playstation.🥂😎

@@SunHobbit My PS5 is holding up extremely well since launch day I just need to increase my ssd storage. I have a 5TB external hard drive for the PS4 games along with a 1TB wd black sn850 with heatsink internal ssd for the PS5 games. I recently upgraded my xbox series x with a 2TB expansion storage card it’s still doing great with the 4TB external hard drive as well.

I've got an Xbox series X and a PS5 in my living room and a Series S in my bedroom. Firstly, I must say the Series X is much better than the S - worth spending more money. Secondly, Game Pass is (for me) way better than Sony's options. The only advantage the PS5 had was its controller, which it lost when I bought the Xbox Elite 2 which, IMHO, beats the sh*t out of the DualSense. In a nutshell, I only play the PS5/PS4 exclusives. I came from a PS4, but am way happier with the Xbox Series X which, for me, seems faster, stronger and has a better interface.

Go with Xbox, microsoft has a lot of upcoming games in pipeline. Microsoft has the software so they have a upper hand. Sony is a hardware company mostly, so you cannot get the best experience, ofcourse you get better hardware like dual sense controllers, but then again what is more pereferable? xbox has more variety of games and also wider audience, third party developers prefer xbox more because the games are easier to make compatible with PC because microsoft operating systems running in them. Yes PS5 does have some advantages over xbox, but it ultimately comes down to your preferences, if you like more variety and value for money, better software, more updates, more games, should go for xbox blindly, MS is one the biggest company in the world.

@@christopherlindloff8331 Well said, I agree to all your points. The only advantage microsoft has is that is has platform called windows on PC, so you get the best of both worlds. I personally have a gaming PC too, so I prefer xbox as you can just buy gamepass which should be enough, although I do have some paid games but yeah. For developers also it is easy to backport games to PC from Xbox, and it is only going to get better in future. Right now yes Sony has the upper hand on consoles, but that will soon change in coming years.

I own both consoles. The Xbox gives me a better overall experience and a better service such as cloud storage without the need for online subscription. On the other hand, the PS5 exclusive games are way better while Microsoft chosen to pop up with a new controller every other week rather than focus on games.

There are 3,454 used ps4 cd games that all end up in a second bargain bin sooner or later for cheap . I found a used Horizon Forbidden West cd for $40 Canadian ($28US) . Try that with a Xbox.

I just kept my ps4 pro and moved over to the Xbox x and the s in the bedroom. You can still play all the new Sony games on last gen for $60 instead of $70. The xbox model works better for me this gen. It’s just much more cast effective with a family of 5 gamers and infatuation.

Performance is very similar with only small differences shown on each game. If you want the absolute best console experience for GTA 6 then maybe wait for the PS5 Pro to launch next year.

i have both and this i my take..playstation 5...no bluetooth, no battery pack for controller, one USBC drive already having to be used , the batteries die fast...very few ports...and you have to use the usbc wire to recharge it more frequent.. the wiffi take over the hardline connections.

I have both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S. In my opinion the Xbox Series S is actually better because it is smaller, has quick resume and is cheaper for next gen gaming. And I use it for Microsoft Flight Sim especially Concorde. However while the PS5 is unfortunately bigger, it is more powerful and has a better controller not to mention it is the better console for next gen gaming especially graphics.

I don’t really understand the console allegiances. I kinda want a PS5, but I really hate the left thumb stick positioning. Each time I play a friend’s PS, all I can think about is how uncomfortable it feels. Aside from that, both have their own exclusives. I’d love to be able to play a Spider-Man game with an Xbox controller without buying a PC 😭

Had a series X , even with game pass I didn’t play often because they just don’t have the titles I want. Sold it and added the difference to grab a ps5.. so happy with my decision , now I can play the exclusives I want while still enjoying my multiplats like madden & CoD.

Street Fighter 6 can be played on both. However xbox is preferable more by 3rd party developers due to .Net Framework compatibility and easier development.

It does have exclusive consoles but they are exclusive to Microsoft ecosystem. Anyways sony latest exlusives are also released on PC so Sony do not have 100% exclusivity for their games anymore.

Even if you turn off the console and disconnect it...that's a hard task (i'd say imposible in fact) even for a gaming pc. QR is amazing and almost hard to believe for a console...

I would argue it all depends on personal preferences. If you are someone who prefers single-player experiences, then get a PS5/ If you are someone who prefers On-line multi-player, then get an X-Box Series X.

@@jortega61924 Sony offers more & better single-player games when you add all the Playstation exclusives, its not even close. X-Box offers better On-line features with their X-Box Live service. That's NOT to say that you can't play single-player games on X-Box, but you are then missing out on the Playstation exclusives. Nor is it to say you can't play On-line with Playstation but Sony's On-line services lack many features that is available on -Box. And again, it just boils down to preferences, as maybe some aren't interested in Sony's exclusives...or maybe some don't care about X-Box's extra On-line features. It always boils down to preferences. Just play whichever you prefer, or play both. Its totally up to you (each individual). I personally have a preference, but I always tell gamers to do their research and get whichever appeals to them most. Having choices are a good thing.

I own a xsx, i dont like the xclusives of the ps , i thought maybe god of war is the game, but its to much cut scènes which you cant skip and all the others are to much japanese style and thats not my type of game. Also there are so many who hyped about the new final fantasy, but also never played a final fantasy which i like so. And i played on both ps5 and xsx, and xsx looks better on most of the games, so for me its a easy choice.

The problem i dont buy playstation is i hate having two button at the bottom cause my thumbs and hands not that big to reach the thumbstick i was trying to try different ways but my hands are small so i chose the xbox and wow it was much more comfortable on my hands and i can reach the thumbstick no problem since the move button is on top and the controller is small so thats the reason why

I have XSX and PS5. I only play on the PS5 just for the exclusives. My main console is XSX. XSX supports Dolby vision and Dolby atmos while ps5 doesn't support any of them! If you have a decent tv, you will understand how amazing Dolby vision and Dolby atmos are. XSX is the best console in the market for gaming and Microsoft has done a great job this generation. However, Sony exclusives are amazing and they are the best.

I think starfield might actually be a huge boost in xbox sales. Weather you like bethesda or not, if your a fan of rpg open world style games, ur gonna wanna play starfield. Trust me I understand ur disappointment but playstation does have a bunch of exclusives themselves. Spiderman, last of us, and many more. Id like it if both companies would abandon exclusives. But it’s going the opposite way

@@toxicgracie3772 yes it will be. The great thing about gamepass is that all microsoft owned game studios games will be day one release on gamepass. Then studios that have a publishing deal with Microsoft their games come to game pass I believe after a few months. I don’t know the exact date.

I have a Nintendo Switch and a PS5. Together they give me the exclusives I want. I prefer single player expriences so Xbox doesn't have what I want. Plus I've just never been into their series. Not into Halo for example. I owned an Xbox One but I wish I had gone PS4. Does mean though I have a whole libary of PS4 games to explore now.

Dat gebeurd niet als ik op de xbox series speel dan gaat ie niet op game mode . En en over de controller vindt ik die van de series betere dan die van de ps5 met die grote knop on het midden als ik takken speel altijd per ongeluk op druk . En bij de ps5 microfoon en speaker in de controller 😢 wie verzint dat ?? . Maar toch denk ik voor de gewone man die af en toe wel eens gaat spelen is de ps5 de betere de lay-out van de 5 is ook veel duidelijker
