I have an Arsenal that does the same thing when you pull the charging handle back and let it ride forward. It’s getting caught up on the hammer face. I lightly dragged a file to round off the ledge and it made it a little smoother. But if I was you I would just shoot and dry fire the piss out of it and let it wear in naturally. If you go too far you’ll get light primer strikes and you’ll end up having to replace your hammer.
@gsGs-xb6um
@gsGs-xb6um 2 года назад
When you charge the bolt, it is getting caught on the hammer. That is normal and was actually designed that way to reduce the rate of fire when full auto. It’s a rate reducing feature. Custom shops will remove material off the hammer face to limit that but it’s normal of any AK under 1500

Use blue lock tight the rail won’t ever walk once tightened you can get it at any hardware store

Except it did. Blue locktite is not heat rated. Being that this clamps right on the barrel it gets too hot and burns it off

They are a 500 dollar rifle.. They are currently going for 800+ on the PSA website. I only have put 80 rounds thru mine so far but I'm not impressed so far need to shoot it more and see if it will hold together

@@bluedownC I have two. One the magwell had to be fitted a bit to fit any magazine other than the Magpul gen 2. My other one has had a couple of jams and it will occasionally fire two shots with one trigger pull.. Some of the parts will start to surface rust with any hint of moisture or humidity and I live in the desert and have never got it wet..

@@keatonjorgensen8793 Damn that sucks. I know PSA is known to send out lemons occasionally. I have dealt with them before and told myself I wouldn't anymore but I took a chance on their Underfolder AK. Always told myself no US made AKs but with how things are going now I decided to give it a shot. Hopefully I don't regret it.

Instead of a spring buffer, I think you'd appreciate a wolf recoil spring. It takes a ton of the recoil away too.
@flyinfr33domfreedom2
@flyinfr33domfreedom2 3 года назад
Heard about them but the idea of a stronger spring making the bcg slam foward harder turns me off
@philc.352
@philc.352 3 года назад
@@flyinfr33domfreedom2 I hear what you're saying about the harder forward motion of the stronger spring, but that force pales in comparison to the forces being exerted by the cartridges going off in that area. After reading that point I bought the ALG recoil spring and I'm not exaggeration when I say it works very well, and now my BCG goes home like it supposed too. I'm so impressed with the ALG spring I'm considering buying their trigger assemble as my next upgrade. Also to help calm your anxiety over the gas piston wobble issue I've had 4 AK's in my life time and all off them wobble (some worse than what you have), they're supposed to because when the the firearm detonates a cartridge the pressure wave causes flexing in the whole rifle body and as the piston moves back it need to be able to flex to deal with that issue. 3rd The BCG is hanging up on the hammer as it rides over it. It will wear in over usage or you can try polishing the hammer top to remedy that sooner rather than later, the improved recoil spring (mentioned above) fixes this issue also. Finally the front sight post issue I completely agree with you. It's 2021 and there is no excuse for canting on rifles anywhere at all, but be happy you got'er zeroed. All in all you have a very nice rifle and I hate seeing you stress over what's typical with AK's. Now, go have fun with her!!!! :)

Yank the buffer. If they needed them they would be built with them. And pull the bolt forcefully back, letting the end of travel "pull" the handle through your fingers, letting the spring's full force send the bolt to battery. Riding the bolt is counter to the designed operation.

Had the same issue with my gf3 front site. Had to drift mine almost all the way to the left, just like yours. Little irritating. Also having to work on gen 3 PMAGs to get them to fit. Thank you for this video.

I got a few AKs. That amount of wobble is fine, it's kinda above average, but my Vepr's wobbles a bit like that. Nothing to worry about.
@Steinbacker4001
@Steinbacker4001 2 года назад
WTF - canted front sight? It is amazing that something so basic is beyond the abilities of people who build the guns. Is it impossible to have the barreled receiver in a JIG and then put the front sight tower on in top dead center alignment? It is a straight line and why so idiotic that they are fine with "Meh, close enough for AK".
@tmartin3151
@tmartin3151 2 года назад
I don’t know why it’s like that, but even high end manufacturers have that issue. I’ve read it’s because the barrels are press fitted into the front trunnions, but you would think it wouldn’t be too hard to create an alignment jig of some sort.

I had a bolt hang up issue on my GF5. The ejector rail wasn't filed down enough at the factory. Simple fix. I also bought a NOS russian firing pin and extractor as a safe measure because the factory ones are out of spec and cause malfunctions. The piston wobble is totally normal. All imported AK's I've ever handled had that and my PSA is the first AK I've seen without it!

I have two PSA AKs and haven't had any issues at all except that both are very picky about magazines. I have 8 other AKs including: (VSKA, Romarm, Hungarian FEG, Zastava, Kalashnikov USA, and Arsenal of Bulgaria) and the PSAs are the worst for not accepting most magazines. Basically Magpul or nothing. One will fit a few KCI steel mags, but other than that, I really don't have any complaints. Not defending PSA as they are known to rush stuff out at times and sell some lemons, but mine have been really solid and have decent round counts. Finish is better than most of my other AK rifles.
@Rogue308
@Rogue308 2 года назад
Yes I’m seeing that with mine. Mine hates steel mags. Loves polymers or steel lugged polymers.
@SpaceHippo420
@SpaceHippo420 2 года назад
My GF3 and GF5E are solid. It’s people like this that hate on PSA because of super small easy fixes and because they are American. They have more than proven their track record on the gf3 in the last 3 years and the gf5 is the same thing with better materials. PSA are solid aks and make it to 20-25k rounds on the gf3 on the regular at shooting competitions and ranges, and the only thing they need is a new barrel because the older ones are nitrided. They are most definitely capable of going 50k rounds with the CHF barrels. So many people I have seen hate on them for the firing pin and literally send it back for weeks or months on end just to change the firing pin when it’s a 45 second fix and $20 for a real Russian pin. They are proven to hold up and take a beating and people just won’t accept it and pick annnnny little small thing to bash them for 😂 it’s quite sad really. If they were based in Poland and made the exact same thing with the exact same materials I almost guarantee nobody would complain and praise them to be solid imports 😂
@fishcars8078
@fishcars8078 2 года назад
@@SpaceHippo420 I absolutely agree. I like my imports as much as anyone, but these seem legitimately good to go for the most part. Since the original post, I have also picked up a GF5 build from Palmetto with surplus combloc parts. I'm unsure if they still have any of those left but it's an incredible bargain. It does fit and feed any magazine that I have and is incredibly accurate for an AK platform. It does have the FN barrel. I couldn't not have a higher recommendation for these. They initially had both Russian and Romanian parts builds but as of a few months ago, all I saw were Romanian and very few available at that. If I were going to a competition it really would be a toss up between it, the Zastava M90, or the Bulgarian SLR104.

My newly purchased GF5 has canted front sight. Same deal. Maxed out to left side of window for zero. Sent it in for repair. Been a week. I know its frustrating but are you gonna send it back again? They didn't fix yours properly so what now? I probably should have watched entire video but it sounded like you were gonna deal with it so I started typing. I'm not dealing with it. They fuck up so many orders it is hard to understand how they are in business. I ordered 520 rounds 9mm and got 70. I ordered AR 15 and it doesn't have handguard screws. I order XL t shirt for my fat ass and I get medium. Order GF5 and can't hit water if I fell out of a boat. Wtf?

I’m dealing with it. I only spend 800 all said and done out the door. with the increased prices they want to charge I would expect tighter quality control. I don’t know what psa will do that will satisfy you. It’s unfortunate.
