I own a gf5 and had 1 out of 30 rounds light primer strike when I shot it for the first hundred rounds. I changed the firing pin with a polish surplus and measured both pins with a micrometer. The PSA pin was shorter by a small amount. I cant remember what the measurements were. It looked like the part of the pin that strikes the primer was peened and rounded. it might have been like that when I bought it, maybe not. 500 rounds later not a single problem.
I enjoyed your very informative video. I’d make one suggestion. Use a pointer rather than waving your hand all over the place. All the extraneous hand movements were making me dizzy. I’m looking forward to seeing more from you regarding your AK47. Cheers!
Haha, thanks for the tip gary! I do have a problem with that. However thank you for watching! I make these videos for fun just to try and share the passion.
I think I remember akou talking about how the ALG fire control can be hard on the firing pin. I’ll be interested to see if the new pin shows the same deformation. I’m waiting on my gf5 to arrive at my ffl. I have 2 gf3’s I’ve upgraded to ALG’s. I need to see if it’s happening to mine too. Anyway thanks for the video and nice job.
@@user-km5kj8xh1x there is a small step that started very early and has not bbn progressed. From my readings this is normal and should not be worried about
@@mitchell3042 oh ok i was just curious because this guy ak103 trunnion chipped and has the same AQ4340 trunnion so i was just wondering , he has a high round count though i think 10k ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Otey8JVjuwc.html

Thanks for watching! The main difference between the 103 and gf5 is that the 103 has a 90 degree gas block, 24mm threads, smooth dust cover, and folding plastic furniture.
