My initial PSA was 1830 with lesions on my spine and lymph glands .The leason in my vertebra actually fractured my spine .Gleason score of 8. After Chemo and new generation hormone therapy (triple therapy) my PSA is now down to 0.02 and PSMA Pet Scan shows no sign of cancer. I was diagnosed in Oct 2023. I am 68 . Important to eat healthy foods and exercise and have a positive attitude .Have blood tests now every 2 months.👍

There are so many men who had initial PSA above 1000....One man I know who started with PSA 3000 ..Once lupron and Abi started his PSA dropped to 0.1 within 11 months. He is alive and doing well now after 7 years.

My PSA started at 2600. Diagnosed 3/23/23. Lupron and Nubeqa, 3 Taxotere, 3 Taxotere and carboplatin PSA now 0.7. Also had 15 radiation treatments on spine T1-T3 last year and 15 treatments on T 5-T9. Starting on 6/3 radiation on prostate and spot on rib. It’s been a long ride but feeling much better and gaining strength.

My psa was 1300 hundred about a year ago. Now it’s .19. I weight 91 pounds a year ago, now I’m at 132 pounds! I do heavy weight lifting 3-4 times a week. I’m 5”6” and my weight is normal. I work full time. I would love to be inspiration to others. I was diagnosed in 2010 at the age of 46! I take Xtandi and Lupron and xzeva. I stated the meedication only on February 2023. I’m Vegan and drink 40 ounces of home made green juice! Most of all I give glory to my GOD, JESUS CHRIST for saving me.🙏

Amen, brother !! I am largely Whole Food Vegan as well...allow myself small potions of meat & fish at about 3 meals max a week. Bike & work out (some pickleball), hike and dog walk...nearly something every day. I am nowhere near this number....but know we all have a journey ahead...that we do have some control over...If willing to commit !

Thank you PCRI for this video on >1000 PSA. It was very informative for me. I started with a PSA of 1,300 in Feb 2012. First and second gen meds took me to 0.09 in about three months. Unfortunately, my oncologist says I’ll be on Lupron forever due to the extensive Mets but I’ll bring the subject up again in the future. Again, thanks.

44 radiation treatments to start off. Then a targeted on the spine then 2 spots with Cryoablation then 9 chemo treatments short lived remission then another targeted radiation then 6 Pluvicto treatments PSA undetectable for the last 4 treatments then after finishing that treatment 3 months later 4 small spots on ribs and spine now waiting for 4 more targeted radiation treatments. Going on 5 years of this I’m tired but glad to be alive still.

My favorite cancer video site. I am nowhere near here...at least not yet. Back down well below one PSA. But being VERY proactive. This channel CONTINUOUSLY not only addresses pertinent, timely factual info...but does it in a way that gives some hope & positive direction if people take the appropriate action. God Bless you for that ! One QUESTION I do have--I have seen NO one address an INTRADUCTAL feature I was told I maybe have with my Gleason 7. Can that be elaborated on ?

The pain and discomfort associated with a prostate biopsy is directly related to the skill of your urologist.

Dr Scholz am I missing something here…. if you get newly diagnosed with a PSA of 1000 you don’t need to do any treatment like radiation or focal therapy on the prostate just hormone or chemotherapy?

>>Undetectable levels of Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) have been reported from the first patient with metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) to ever receive two cycles of Clarity’s 67Cu-SAR-bisPSMA at the 8GBq dose level. PSA is a marker of tumour burden, clinical response to treatment and an indicator of the recurrence of disease for prostate cancer.

I hope you get an MRI before the biopsy. This is the standard of care now. Also, the MRI will tell you prostate size. If your older and your prostate is slightly larger than normal, it is very possible your PSA is normal even though it is considered "high." But, try and get the MRI first. Biopsies and significant procedures with significant risks. An MRI might tell you that you don't even need a biopsy

On Pluvicto for metastatic prostate cancer. 3 weeks after first treatment my dad went from psa 670 to 1400. Doc said blood work looks good so far and he might reduce dose due to extreme side effects (fatigue, weakness, weight loss). He says he’s less concerned about this psa jump right now at start of radiation. Thoughts?
@SeekingWisdom17
@SeekingWisdom17 Месяц назад
Results from trials before approval of Pluvicto: Pluvicto works very well for about 1/3 of patients. For 1/3 of patients it works moderately. And for 1/3 of patients it doesn't work at all.
