Is anyone going to tell him that it’s not an AK101? It doesn’t have the 90 degree gas block or the rear side folding trunnion which 100 series AKs have. He has an AKM chambered in 5.56. These can be found in the WPB Jack 5.56, the WASR 3, and the very inexpensive Pioneer Arms AK sporter in 5.56.
The problem is, it IS called an 101, straight from PSA's website. Apparently they are naming any of thier AK line in 5.56 as a 101, reguardless of the gas block, stock, or internal specifications.
@@brucecamparmament3728 Yes they do call it that, but it’s really a WBP Jack 5.56 kit. I’m sure there is some legal obligation that caused them to name it the AK-101AKM. Similar to the Galil being renamed the Gallant. Honestly the WBP Jacks go for 1000 to 1200 and are great rifles, so if they call it the AK-101AKM you get to save 300 to 500 bucks so it’s a win for you. It’s just a little misleading for PSA because they sell the whole 100 series.
Wheres your video backing the claim? You seem to know a lot about this AK! You should make one! Or wait you just mad someone knows more about this gun than you😂
@@let_freedom_ping gf3 got me started..solid rifle for sure..but the Euro shines on experienced machining..just picked up. New RH10 WASR filed and polished it to real smoothness..trigger and muzzle upgrade..AK addiction is for real LOL
WBP is good, probably the best you can get. Beware PSA, they don't dimple their receivers into their trunions and they don't use swell-neck rivets. Very bad.
Not sure if id trust the psa ak build process over AOA. I've learned more about swell neck rivets and how important they are on the front trunnion. Which is something i dont believe psa does on their aks.
Yes, one could argue the parts are a little better because of quality control. WBP is a Polish company that makes AK’s. I don’t know much about PSA’s AK parts. But I have toured a factory where AR parts are made for Aero, PSA and other brands. PSA is more of a budget company. Their focus is getting their products in the hands of everyday Americans for the cheapest price while making the product function as intended. I do believe you get what you pay for. I think the extra cost for the Polish parts kit is worth it.
@@Chronikpain That is not correct. Yes, it would be true for real Russain Ak101's.... but PSA produces what they call a 101 with fixed stocks and internal AKM spec parts (I have one).
@@BERGQUISTARMAMENTthe barrel is gas nitrosulfurized if its original WBP Polish barrel. A different animal than standard QPQ you see on american barrels.
If you want a 5.56, get an AR. The AR is vastly superior in every respect. The AK is a WW2 era rifle with horrible ergonomics and is totally unsuited for upgrades. Enjoy the AK for what it is. Enjoy shooting a piece of history in 7.62X39 & 5.45X39. There will be imported 5.45 on the market again this year. So enjoy your antique AK's. 🤠
So WW2 ended in 1945. The Ak was first adopted in 1947. So, no its not a WW2 era rifle. And no the AR isnt "vastly superior", It may be slightly superior, but the AK is still fielded by many Nations around the wrold and has been modernized and upgraded many times. AKM, Ak74, AK74M, AK12 are just a FEW examples of modernizations and upgrades from the origional AK47. There has been enough demand for 5.56 AK's that Russia produces it for export as the AK-101. And Poland adopted it as the Beryl, as well as South Africa with the R4, and Israel with the Galil. While I personally own over fifteen AR's, my last three purchases have been 5.56 AK's, which I rather enjoy shooting.
I've purchased around 60 of various types of AK Variants over about the last 35 years, so do enjoy them. About 10 of my AK Variants are in 5.56; two are Saiga conversions, but my very first AK was a Chinese BWK 92 Sporter, (5.56 AK) now converted. It's an adventure finding spare bolts, and parts, and Magazines are a PITA to corral, and that can be fun, or irritating depending. The Radom 5.56 Beryl Magazines fit the BWK 92 just fine, and it is a shorter mag front to back than some other makes of 5.56 Magazines. One of my Saiga's is a conversion, done by a licensed builder from 7.62X39 to 5.56, and ONLY takes Galil Magazines either Orlite or Metal. All the Saiga Rifles in calibers below .308 utilize AK 74 Receivers. My other Saiga 5.56 was a custom conversion designed to take Bulgarian waffle mags in 5.56 however the AC Unity 5.56 mags fit and function just fine. Every time a new company comes out with new 5.56 AK Mags then I purchase a few and try them out to see which of my 5.56 AK's will take the new mags - and then I order 10 or more at a time. Now about the AR-15; Cannot disagree with you about that rifle, and I now own lets say an even half dozen, which I know is pathetic. It is an excellent rifle, and before the Balloon goes up I will be acquiring a few more examples in various barrel lengths, and or the Uppers to match and switch. Just a fantastic rifle. Spent "Many Years" in the Army and do have a bit of experience with the M-16. Have cleaned them "many" times - and swore that I would never have one, up until about seven years ago when I got the PSA Bug, and have shorties and carbines and mostly Mid-Length and quite a large number of spare Bolts. They, like all of my own rifles and pistols are tools - tools of freedom. I need not explain. The AK however is a unique Rifle type, and I do encourage firearms owners to own one or more, along with a lot of spare mags, spare parts, and a shit ton of ammo. Just plan well in accordance with the spirit of Army Special Forces Cache Techniques to keep most of one "assets" safe into the coming years.
