Ive had the TV2112's for over a year now , maybe more...Time flys with good bass! They continue to impress me with movies , music , video games damn near everyday!
Great review ,I agree with what you said about service .I've had my PSA sub for several years now and love it ! When I called PSA for information I spoke to the owner and described my home theater which had a M&K THX 350 in the front he talked me out of the ported sub that was being considered and into a down firing 15"sealed sub that was quite a bit cheaper but in his opinion would work better in my near-field set-up ! He also worked with me on shipping to Hawaii.I had to use a freight forwarder and had to ship it to Compton Ca. using the free shipping .I am getting the itch to upgrade again !!
Love these subs as well - have four of the same subs and they are beyond badass. Have had Velodyne, SVS, Klipsch subs previously and these are in another class
I’d just like to point out that those dual TV2112’s that rafcave sent back were sold in the outlet to another PSA owner almost immediately and he has posted over on AVS forums about how much he loves them and he’s not having any issues with them. I’ll bet whoever buys Shane Lee’s s2112 will have a similar experience. RafCave, just like Shane Lee, just had them set up wrong. It sounded like RafCave was clipping. Any subwoofer or speaker sounds bad when it’s clipping. And Shane Lee was just way over-driving his single s2112. He was almost 30db hot at 10hz. His measurements showed 118db at 9.8hz and down 20+db at 30hz with a huge null from 30-50hz. Had he set it up right he wouldn’t have had the issues he did. But you can’t tell him that. He gets offended immediately if you mention anything about improper setup.
How do you set them up properly? I ask because I'm debating getting PSA 1813m and from the review from shane and raf, it kinda has me a little concerned.
@@arckanum332 Follow the subwoofer calibration guide, and adjust your knobs so your AVR's room correction sets your sub to around -6 to -9 sub trim, so you can boost without issues, Then if you have a minidsp you can further tweak the settings and set a curve to further flatten the response. Also a sub crawl to find the most suitable position in your space (before calibrations). you can find some guides in avsforums under the subwoofer section
@arckanum332 is just like any other sub but ignoring trollcave clueless behavior Shane is only butthurt because he requested free product several times and was declines. Now he had a vendetta against PSA because how dare they not send him free gear Yep that's the kind of person Shameless Shane is
That’s nonsense and has been promulgated by fanbois. Debunked multiple times. Nobody was driving the sub 30db hot, that’s not even possible with the gain knob 🙄
@@conduit242maybe not, but he doesn't do room correction then plays edge of tomorrow's single digit sine wave at reference levels. It's a test of the thresholds of your amp limiters at that point.
I replaced 2 x Monolith 16's with a pair of these, no regrets. I have ordered a second pair of TV2112M's to replace a pair of Monolith 13's in a different system. These are great subs for the money and it's nice to support an American company.
To avoid copyright, you can disable your speakers except for the sub. You can also just run without audio to let us see the excursion and how hard it can hit.
I've owned a PSA w/ sealed Dual 15's (can't remember the model#) for more than 8 years and absolutely love it. Never had an issue and its fills my very large living room (16x 24ft w/ 12ft ceilings) with easy! Not well known and as you mentioned, not many reviews on their products but would definitely buy again!
Yeah I have an S1500, a single 15" sealed and it can overwhelm my 25x30x8 room if desired. No distortion either. I have to turn it down quite a bit not to annoy the family. Plus I prefer clean to boom so I don't mind it really.
Excellent! I might have been one of the guys that influenced you into buying them over on AVS. I have a couple of TV2112 and I'm pretty vocal about it. Almost two years later I'm still loving it like I just got them last week. I don't know how much time you've spent with room EQ wizard but I really think that you might be better off having one of those guys back where your SVS is and have them in opposing corners. That's how I ended up(opposing corners) and having all that energy behind you is awesome. Makes you feel like you're inside of it all instead of everything in front of you. Tbh, they are just too big to be sitting there under the screen. They disappear back in the corner much better. I just ordered 3x 210-m for my lcr. Tom posted a sale for them and I wasn't able to resist. Love me some PSA!
I know what you mean when you say it brought your towers to life, my PSA V3600i have brought my Def Tech PB2002 to life as well. I couldn’t believe my ears
I have to agree with your review. I have a tv1813 and have been loving it for awhile. Not sure what’s going on with some of these RU-vid reviews. There is another one by Shane on the s2112m and he also didn’t like it. However, he was testing it with the sub killing edge of tomorrow scene. Unless the sub is very heavily dsp’ed, no sub could handle that scene. He also had the gain set too high. Anyway, he didn’t love the sub. I came from a pb3000 and as much as I loved that sub, the tv1813 is in another class!
That “review” was a joke. The dude was running like 30 db’s hot at 9hz ffs! His in-room measurements showed 118db at 9.8hz. I don’t know if people understand what type of output that is. It’s insane! Even 110db at 10hz is excellent output from dual 18 or 21” subwoofers. Asking that from a single subwoofer is just asking waayyyy too much. That guy has so much expensive equipment. It’s a shame he doesn’t seem to know how to use it.
@@markroze3641onestly when I saw 118db at 10hz going to 6hz I was super impressed by how capable they are before they start to clip. Its huge spl so low and considering they are PA they are extremely fast and light as well. Im currently only doing diy but this subwoofer looks like one of the expections that I would love to have. Also its impossible that this driver has less output at 30hz up than it has bellow. He clearly placed it in wrong spot especially that he claimed that "no amount of dsp can fix that"
Are you happier with your psa over the pb16s? I have two pb 16s and was considering trading up to either the new 17 model coming out next month or some jtr 4000 ulf
I watched your video when I was deciding on Arendal Sounds, JTR, and PSA speakers. I decided on PSA after communicating with Tom. I ordered 3 MTM-210Ms and 2 TV2112Ms this week. I'm hoping to have them by this weekend. I'll wait until after the new year to swap out my surrounds and atmos speakers. I have no idea how to setup these speakers, but I'll ask in the AVSForum as you suggested. 😎👍🏿🔊
I got the speakers and today. I posted a quick video. I haven't setup the subwoofers because my LFE cables are too small for the Pioneer VSX-1123-K Receiver's pre-outs.
Please do. I am also interested in these exact subs. I know Tom doesn't play the RU-vidr "Gimme" Game but I would love for someone to do a complete "legitimate" (dirty-shot at Rafcave-smh) review of these subs. My account flags this review automatically--that's how often I search for reviews on the TV2112s. Look forward to seeing your review also.
I have two TV2112M'S on order, hope to get them late May or early June. In the meantime, I picked up an EV1813, and it pounds. My current subs are Monolith 16's (really 18's by measurements) and I do love them, just thinking the TV2112M'S might give me a bit more and PSA has top notch customer support which is something I value.
I would have loved to run these but they are just too damn big. I’m too ocd with aesthetics and I don’t have the ability to raise my drop down screen. Awesome theater and thanks for the review. Not a lot of reviews on these things.
PSA Subs are great. I have older generation. One XS-30se and two S3000i. I want to upgrade to the S2112s but then I watch a movie and think why? I feel the skin prickles and watch my curtain shake and feel gunshots in my chest and my seat rumble with explosions. How much more do I need?
Try turning your subs on its side and you might not have to raise your screen. I did this with my dual TV2112's. I agree they sound great! I'm 12 feet away on concrete slab with tile and an area rug and I can feel them on my recliners. It handles blade runner and EOT with ease. Ready player one sound amazing.. It is worth the money..
Great video! I'm considering either the SVS sb4000 or the PSA TV 2112. This would be a single bass setup. Do you feel there's a greater than a 3 percent difference in bass with the PSA TV 2112 compared to the svs? Do you feel the difference could be noticeable to the average person?
Thanks for the review man😊 I am most interested in punch and impact from my sub (now I have dual Definitive Technology Supercube Reference, short and easy name🤣, and a small 10 inch as nearfield, and it is good, but, as with this illness🙊, I always want more🙈). Question is, how are they for punch/ midbass? Btw: there is no point for you to set the subs up as two different subs, they are too close to eachother for that to make a difference😊
Yeah about the youtubers, Shane wanted to get a discount and Tom does not play the influence game so he started taking shit about the sub. The trollcave guy is just simple stupidity though lol
I was wondering who Tom was talking about in the forum . I guess spare change can't afford full price makes sense . I bought 2 when they first were released for 4400 shipped which was a good deal yes alot of money but why not . I still would like to try JTR..
Put one nearfield behind your listening position. Night and day difference. I will never run a system without nearfield again. Time align with rew and set 1.5db lower.
Love this video💪🏾 new sub! I just purchased dual Perlisten D15s for my theater and posted some videos on YT. I’ll definitely have to check out that song. Thanks.🙏🏾
@keneths I have two monolith v tens in one of smaller set up and they are all business. Monolith may have quality control issues but anything I purchased from then has been phenomenal. I will send u video clips in dd Dolby atmosphere and Dolby vision
I had the older versions of the EV1813s , the V1801s. They used a different driver and maybe tuned slightly higher than the Ev18's , but they used to pound in the midbass! I would imagine the EV's offer similar performance. They wont go as low HZ as the TV21s , but unless you use BEQ or something , there really isnt a whole lot of content under 20hz IMO...They will handle about 99% of the content thrown at them , save for a few seconds of sub 16hz content which is hard to come across...So unless you are really chasing 12HZ extension with subs , the EVs will probably do everything needed while saving a few bucks from the TV series of subs...
Room is 20x17. I did look at the EV...personally I didn't think it would be an improvement over the PB16 and that's what I was after. I am installing a theater for a neighbor and they went with the EV1813. I plan to post my impressions.
@@kenethswait a minute! Are those real pa transducers? I prefer soft bass over those hard mid bass😢.. Rythmik, Genelac, REL Acoustics, Velodyne Acoustics, Perlisten etc is my way to go bro..
I'm interested in PSA subs too. When you say better than the SVS PB2000, are we talking about straight clean bass or are we talking about vibrating the house kind of bass that my wife would hate? Lol. I'm just curious.
There are lots of factors that would contribute to house shaking. The PB2000 is a 12" sub that does well and you may even get away with using it in an apartment without seriously disturbing the neighbors. The PB16, on the other hand may cause a disturbance with it's 15" Woofer. The PSA TV2112M'S are 21" subs that pack a serious punch...far above the aforementioned SVS subs. They are tight and controlled. Any sub may cause wife issues depending on how hot you run them!
My ported PSA subwoofers have some of the cleanest bass I’ve heard. It’ll destroy any notion that ported subwoofer are “sloppy” or “muddy”. Those B&C pro drivers stop on a dime. The best way I’ve heard it described is that it’s like going from regular bass to high definition bass. You hear new notes in songs you never heard before. Don’t ge me wrong, they can totally shake your room too if you want them to. But they are known for how clean they are.
Glad you like them. Some people report the SVS subs having a heavier/thicker quality at the low end but at the expense of articulation relative to the PSA. Did you experience this at all?
@@keneths Thanks , good to know. Just working on setting up dual TV1813s, moving from dual PC-4000s. I haven't gotten too much listening time in yet as I was working on positioning, time aligning, EQ, etc. but will soon and compare for myself. From what I understand the TV1813s perform very similar to the TV2112 but down maybe 2db or so.
Depends on your style of music. If you have Spotify, search for Bass Boosted. There is also a Playlist called EDM HEAVY BASS. I like Skrillex mixes with Rap...like Purple Lamborghini
I noticed a lot of the "expert youtubers" are starting to have big egos and definitely have some dunning Kruger traits. Limited knowledge pretending to be experts and authorities on these topics.
