To get a definitive answer you need to crack them send the SGC to PSA and the PSA to SGC

@@JasonSmith-fh9uw TAG Grading makes cracking slabs and resubmiting obsolete. Cracking slabs is for fools now. Just grade with TAG.

It’s not about who grades them “tougher”….. the real question is… who grades them more consistently? I should get the same grade 95% of the time.

psa is “ please submit again “ you’ll eventually get a grade. Bet if you crack it open and resend card to PSA , you’ll get a different grade!

It's not that PSA is tougher, its that they are NOTORIOUSLY INCONSISTENT.. resend the PSA 8 and most likely a 9 next time. They are just awful at grading. By sending the better of the freshly pulled card to PSA, you know that you felt the PSA would be a 9.. yet they are terrible at their jobs and gave it an 8..

@TheBnicholas1606 lol hopefully you didn't sell it. I'm sure select psa graders have been infiltrated to give low grades then the partner looks for the serial number and buys it to crack and get the true grade. Easy scam imo. Psa is super shady

Can't draw conclusions from this when they're grading different cards, regardless of if you think you sent PSA the better quality card. A real comparison would be cracking a graded PSA card and sending the same card to SGC.

@@saucypullswhat does your comment have to do with getting 10s? You're logic is that SHC gives higher grades in general, but you're assuming that is across the board. It's quite possible they grade easier on most of the spectrum, but are more conservative with 10 grades.

Definitely not a good way to test you’re not a card grader lol. Buy 10 copies of 9 from each company crack them open and send them to opposite company they came from.

Sgc should be used for 1971 and earlier, its a waste of money to grade modern with sgc. Psa is by far tougher on certain years and cards. Psa is by far more superior than other grading companies

People seeking real information know that this video is inconclusive and to me just a crock. You sent 2 different cards, you are not professional graders, and did not reveal any actual graders notes for content. This is just a biased video, why dont you do a video of you cracking them out of those cases carefully so as not to inflict any damages and swapping them send the psa8 to SGC and the SGC 9 to PSA. Everything online says SGC and Beckett grade tougher and not to mention PSA accquired SGC earlier this year.

Another test even prior to a swap would be to send the same card back to each company 5x and see if they differ on their grading each time its sent and get a real estimate of their consistency and accuracy while grading. Every one knows if the grader got his wheaties crapped in that morning it may reflect in the grade.

I have a few PSA graded cards that would grade lower if I were to crack and resubmit. I Feel like older wax should have a different grading scale than modern cards 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@billp6605 PSA bought out Genamint two years ago. There are press releases for it and numerous videos with Nat and his president speaking about it as a part of larger discussions. AI was always the future and it can detect blemishes that even a 10x loupe can't, grade centering, detects fakes, etc and helps PSA manage all their submissions each month. Nat calls it AI assisted grading. People are still involved but while the standards are the same, it is more consistent now and more accurate however, much tougher. Personally, I don't need my cards graded like diamonds but it is the future
