Hi, I was looking at buying your Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops PSP 1000 System Bundle on your website and I was wondering if it’s a reshell or is it the original?
I'm not sure if I'm failing to properly navigate the site, but I'm only seeing listings in the catalog for complete PSP Go systems with new shells, not the shells on their own. Are they delisted at the moment?
Just came here to say that I purchased from your shop and was extremely satisfied! Love my PSP Go, was a dream deferred as a child and I love it. Thank you!
im not a technical person but i followed the tutorial and just successfully replaced the screen of my more-than-a-decade old psp go, thank you so much sir
This is a great video showing how to replace the shell and screen together. I bought a used psp go on ebay and when I got it the back of the shell was gross and the screen had a big scratch on it. Bought the replacement shell and a replacement screen. My only critique is you forgot to put the black film and the wireless button holder on the backplate at the end. Realistically you don't need it for functionality anyway. I like how you suggested using the original buttons and switches. At first glance you don't notice but after closer inspection you can tell the quality of ones in the kit are quite worse than the originals. I installed a new red shell and kept the old white buttons and it looks sick. I think the worse button is the ps home button. I originally put the one that came with the kit on and then decided to put the original on because it fits way better.
the fact that this takes 20 min is pretty cool. i was hesitant on ordering a used white psp go because they’re all so yellowed but i think i’ll just get one and buy one of your white shells
I could never do this myself haha. I can't even do a simple screen replace on the OG PSP models without messing it up. Props to anyone who has the capability to do these things. PSPgo one of my favorite handhelds ever made (along with GBA SP). I just love those form factors.
it would be a dream come true if replacement parts for these older devices get officially restocked by original manufacturer with og build quality some day. my psp 3000 is kicking the bucket slowley, gonna buy a new screen and I know thats gonna work, but me opening it up i just see so much wrong, its def gonna fail soon. Wish I could buy an official shell, etc from manufacturers sony originally used or smthn
people still sell original shells out there man, ebay should be your best bet, I remember seeing one on amazon not too long ago too but I wasnt sure if that was for the 1000, 2000 or 3000
i like these bootleg shells, it's a clever way to show it's not genuine, cuz it's a color it was never in, so it's not fooling anybody on that front, and it gives an older handheld that was only ever in 2 colors some new flavors! And it looks like they're damn nice looking as well, logos and everything.
The shell in general is good quality. The areas that are sub-par are the start/select button and the top side trim. I’ve never needed to use the backside of the screen where the sliding mechanism screws into, but that piece also looks to be low quality; your original one should typically be in good condition anyway to be reused with this new shell
I don't know if you still need to know but in case you do. When you put the front plate back on, the slider needs to be in a certain position (I think down). If it's loose and not springing, simply remove and reapply the front plate with the slider in the correct position.
I've been having battery drain issues with my PSP Go....even when it's fully shut down. Once it goes dead flat you can't charge it. You have to remove the battery for a while, then reinstall it and then it will start charging. It's a new replacement (eBay) battery.... OEM battery died. Running 6.61 with LME 2.3, Infinity 2 and a 64gig micro USB. I did read somewhere that LME can cause battery drain issues, or it could be just a crap battery. Have you experienced this before? Any thoughts?
I have minimal experience with PSP Go repair, since I really only do some shell swaps for the Go. So I don’t have any suggestions on the source of your issue.
@@Cyko.. I been running LME on two different PSP1000 for a while and have not had any issues at all.....only having the battery drain issues on a PSP Go. You think PRO will fix it?
@@Mardy72 Have you dropped it? It's possible the WiFI module inside is in a "stuck" position thus draining your battery? I use Pro because I heard it was a bit better. There's another one out but I can't remember the name, but Pro hasn't given me any issues and I was able to downgrade when necessary with it.
@blakeblundell9001 nice I found your ebay account before watching this video and noticed a few listing's in your website were identical. I thought I'd ask and I'll definitely keep an eye on your items, im currently eyeing ips swap gold 1000 😆
You’ll want to check that power switch is moving fully and that the screen flex cable is fully connected. It’s possible to short stuff out on the motherboard while the battery is connected if a metal tool touches 2 places that it shouldn’t. You could also remove the motherboard and attempt to turn it on with just the battery connected
@@blakeblundell9001 The Power switch is fully moving and the screen cable is connected well but nothing changed. How do i turn it on without the motherboard ?
Hi! Are you able to sell individual buttons? In need of a new black Start/Select set with the rubber padding it comes on and if you could do anything it'd be appreciated 🙏
For the reshell, I prefer to keep the stock start/select buttons and the back area of the screen (the section that has the sticker on it). If that’s fine with you then I could probably offer the service. I’m just usually pretty backed up every week, so I couldn’t handle tons of them a week. 10 or so per week would doable.
