I bought a psp go around 2 weeks ago in the facebook's marketplace. Well, the condition is pretty good and Im very happy with it. It's a very nice console.
The PSP and PSPgo will always be the ultimate handheld console for me but the DS Lite will always have a special place in my collection too. Tough call because I love them both. Great vid!
I was honestly really surprised to know how small this channel really was. the content seems much more high quality than what I'm used to for channels with under 1000 subscribers
personally i love how DS games look (specifically 3d DS games) because it's like a Nintendo version of the PS1 and playing it on my DSi (small version) looks great.
I found my old PSP 1000 and restored it back to its full glory for about $30(new screen, battery, buttons and SD2PSP adapter) i love this handheld and I am on the look out for a PSP GO. Great channel mate keep it up!
Just come across your channel. I have a psp 1003 that I've had since 2006. It was a farewell present from my brother who was terminally ill. Its pristine and it never leaves my flat. I wanted to have something to put in my pocket to take to work with and my Vita is a bit big for that. I found a PSP Go for £50 in excellent condition and must say i absolutely love it. I have fairly big hands but don't have any problem with comfort for the hour or so at a time that I use it. Also I hacked it and agree completely with you on the emulation side of things. Good video by the way. You deserve more subscribers.
You should definitely check out either or both 3DS and PS Vita. Both can play games from their predecessor natively. You're definitely gonna love Vita's homebrew scene. Since last year the Vita has received ports of big titles like the first three 3D GTA, Max Payne, Quake, and more in the future (Bully is looking to be the next big port in the works). I definitely would love it if you make a video about those consoles.
One thing I noticed about the PSP Go compared to PSP 1k, 2k and 3k is that it is A LOT more fragile... the charging port on it tends to give out after extended use. To date I've never had a charging port just go out on a PSP 1000, 2000 or 3000.
@@marksapollo Well I have a lot of PSP and PSP Go systems as I collect them haha. Even though the PSP Go is by far my favorite for handheld and on the go gaming, I hate to use them because of their fragility. The problem I encounter on several systems was the charging port wearing out, a big bummer. I guess if you are very ginger and/or use the cradle you could make it last a lot longer, but I found after just a few months of intense playing (not being rough, just using it a lot), that the charging port is what goes fastest. :(
@@uTubeNoITube That’s not good. As I understand the PSP Go charging stand is rare and very expensive since. I was looking at one for my Vita but whilst you can find them they are VERY expensive. I have a PSP I got at launch in my country. Don’t use it much but it still works, a solid little machine, I prefer it to my Vita and I’ll probably sell my Vita at some point.
@@marksapollo Vita is very nice too I also have many of those. And if you hack it it can hold a lot of stuff. The real advantage the PSP Go has is you can really put it in your pocket easily whereas a Vita or PSP you kind of need to put it in a backpack or something, it's not pocket sized. :P And yea the PSP Go itself and Charging Stands are quite expensive, I wish I had gotten some of them before prices skyrocketed, I myself don't even own one.
I have nintendo switch and psp go. Play both regulary! On psp I play old JPRG, tactics games. On switch - actual games. Different experience, love them all :) Good luck with channel!
I personally have multiples of each and love them both for different reasons. The PSP Go is an emulation machine while the DS just has a comfortable homey fee to it. My personal favorite handheld is the Neo Geo Pocket Color and after that the PSVita but I’m a fan boy of all devices lol. Great topic and better video man keep it up!
I totally agree with using a 2DS or 3DS instead of a DS Lite but if you get a bargain and you're after DS games consider the DSi, it does have better screens and can play games from its own sd card also it shares the charger with the 3DS series which are cheaper to buy if yours stops working
Check out twilight menu, gba emulation will work. I softmodded A dsi and never had trouble with gba, however the only romset that was recognized besides it was master-system. I couldn't get snes, genesis, etc.. to work for whatever reason. You were spot on when you said emulation could be hit or miss. Hopefully that helps. Both systems have great key points/homebrew when you get everything sorted out. Awesome video..
I agree with him on so many of these points but when he talks about playing gba games on the psp through emulation he doesn't even mention that the ds can play them natively, even if its not a flash cart.
I love my PSP go and I am glad I could buy one a few years ago. Now you have to pay much more on eBay and you cannot get them under 100€. The only thing which is not so good is that there is no really MicroSD2M2-adapter available. I know about the japanese guy who sells something like an adapter, but it is not easy to install this adapter and it costs much money because shipping from Japan is also expensive. Besides I also have a psp3000 and a hacked PS Vita with Adrenalin installed so I can play PSP and PSX games also on a bigger screen.... Thx for your video, you have a new subscriber 😉
Nice vid. I love both consoles. Although the DS and def 3DS have a nice library and I love playing nintendo exclusives on the system it's meant for. Just with a micro sd card and following an online guide, very easy to mod.
Can't take anyone seriously, that considers PSP exclusive to be better than DS exclusives... Why do you think Nintendo sold so many DS's in the first place?
never had a psp go but had the other psp models, even street. i play psp games now on my psvita. i also had a ds. im actually thinking into buying a psp go
Both are great, but the bluetooth and av out on the go is a far better choice in long term. Pretty much like having a ps1... good luck buying the dock tho
I know the Vita is more expensive than either of those so it may not be a fair comparison, but I honestly think a moded Vita is a perfect handheld. Not only can it do everything the PSP could, but it can do it even better. Plus it has a lot of exclusive games and features of its own. While I prefer the form factor of the PSP Go, the VIta's form factor is still nice and comfortable and I would say it is still small enough that I can be carried around easily, unlike the Switch, making it superior in my view.
You play PSP go with a DS3 which keeps it in mint condition for years + you can connect to TV with cable or cradle which makes it a junior Switch. Sony have the brightest ideas but they arent even aware of them until Nintendo benefits. Keep playing deef to consumer opinion Sony.
I just much prefer games in Sonys consoles to Nintendo games and just because of that psp for me is way better, love psp library. But then again if you are fan on Nintendo games then its obviously DS
psp Is Arguably the better console . Ds And Nintendo Wii Were Causals Paradise . Look at Top Ds Games And U Gon See Sxht Like Brain Age And Cooking Mama Compared To Psp Top Games Like God Of War Grand Turismo Etc. Causal Market Gobbled Up The Ds That's Y It Beat Psp In Sales Tbh . I'm Going Psp Alllll the Way everytime Man I Have a Oled Modded vita and pretty Much Use It Everyday . Psp Libary Is Sooooo Good . 👍 Both Great Handhelds But Psp Is My Go To !
Buy a Vita play most PSP games in HD resolution, it will get DS emulation with Drastic soon and its already running lots of Dreamcast games with Flycast and yes it supports SD cards.
A vita is probably worse then a PSP for PSP games due to the difficulty of getting them. I mean you can legally get most of them on the Vita store but then it's way more expensive. PSP can sideload any and every PSP game and in house emulate most PS1 games. Modding a vita is much harder then a PSP and sideloading games is even harder. Drastic is great for DS though
@@PKD145 without any knowledge I hacked my Vita in 15 minutes and I can transfer post games in seconds via WiFi much faster because Vita's WiFi support higher speeds than PSP. A better way is having PS TV is always connected over LAN so instead of WiFi sending games over the came is easier and there is no plug in out problem. Gepatch plugin which upscale PSP games quality to Vita resolution is another advantage of Vita, not all games support it but more than half do. I got 2 go, 1 Vita and 2 PS TV playing GO super fun and it's really portable but Vita is from another planet.
I believe it's easier to run emulators and games on a PSP vs a ds. A ds is cheaper but the dim screen is what makes me not like it as much... ik the big price difference.
There is custom firmware for the DS Lite also Twilight menu You can do this on the DS Lite or the DSi and once you install Twilight menu and custom firmware you don't need a flashcart to play DS games they're played off DS expandable memory card Also works on the old or new 2ds or 3ds
No no no no no no.... If the PSP was better it probably had to sell better. Nothing and no-one can compete Nintendo in the Handheld market from the original Gameboy to the Switch Lite Nintendo was, is and always will be No1. Of course that's my opinion from a person that has a lot of handheld consoles. Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy advance, Gameboy advance SP, Sega Gamegear, NeoGeo pocket color, Wanderswan, PSP Fat, PSP 3000, PSP Go, Nintendo DS Fat, Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo Dsi, Nintendo DSi XL, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo 2DS XL, Nintendo Switch Lite and many more.
Ds lite is only good if you want to feels the authenticness ds games Psp will def outpaced the ds lite dsi all the way through due to the sheer power and capability of the psp is basically compacted psp
useless comparison tbh, as you said yourself. The entire choice comes down to your preference in games in the end. I’ll never buy a PSP simply because it doesn’t have a single valuable exclusive to me. (it should also be noted that the 3DS fixes pretty much every problem the DS Lite had in this comparison apart from the screens)
I would recommend using a screen protector for the DS Lite. Some people can be a little to harsh with the stylus and many being sold on eBay have scratches on the screen which could've been prevented with a screen protector.
I just like the ds lite for playing dual screen games. pretty happy with my phone + a controller, both of which I already have for other reasons, for everything else. probably retire the ds lite to the bathroom if a pocketable durable dual-screen smart phone ever becomes a thing.
Ngl the cfw on the psp just puts it way higher than the ds. But as the purist I am I picked up an r4 card for my ds and only play 1st party Nintendo games on my ds. I use my psp for basically everything else. I love the ds but god the psp in this current year just holds up way better than the ds
I have had a PSP1000 since launch, it’s great, personally I prefer it over my Vita which I’ll probably sell, but I picked up the DS Lite for Peanuts and it’s brilliant, dual screen, instant in, instant loading, both have pluses and minuses but I find the DS more portable, and it has Advances Wars. I also prefer the simplicity of the DS.
Ds lite winning ergonomics was BS. Try playing a game where you need to hold the stylus and press buttons at the same time. Your hands start to hurt instantly
