@@axetroll In terms of the hardware, yes. The headset is better than what we have available on PC. The controller haptics are better. And the performance capability of PSVR2 + PS5 is as good as PC VR right now, but actually even better as the foveated rendering is able to improve performance compared to PC VR for the same titles. Graphics are some of the best you'll see in VR, on par with PC but with a lot of potential with PS exclusives to have better graphics than PC VR games. Overall, PSVR2 beats PC VR in many ways. The one reason why I probably won't get PSVR2, as a PC VR player with no PS5 at the moment, is because of the games library, modding, and the potential of upcoming micro-OLED headsets that can be better than PSVR2 (in terms of visuals). PC has such a good VR library and it always will. Modding means some games have massive potential, improving graphics and gameplay, where PSVR2 won't really have this. For example, Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR on PC can be modded. Modded, they look and play absolutely phenomenally. It's something you won't get on PSVR2. Overall though, as a PC VR player with no PS5, I am still tempted to get a PSVR2. I'll probably stick with PC, but it really is an amazing option and a true competitor to PC VR.
@@zackmac5917 thanks for the info Zack. I'm afraid to buy a PS5 e don't have the PC VR games to play with the console. Probably I'm wrong and all the games exist for both platforms, since they're the newest in game industry.
@@CakePrincessCelestia Really wish my Quest 2 had OLED, I don't understand why they didn't do it. The black levels are absolutely horrible! But this PSVR2 is way too expensive for me. It's more expensive than the PS5 itself, and in my country that means 1000 dollars. I just can't justify that price.
Psvr 2 is going to utterly destroy any current headset on the market. I've demoed it and it blows away the reverb g2 which was my current favorite. The picture quality is insane, its a huge jump forward from any current pcvr headset. Incredible.
I am really excited about this VR headset as I really want to see the VR market finally takes on mass adoption so that developers and product companies can work confidently.
They say the Fov Rendering means that they have made no sacrifices in graphics on GT7- Its flat screen perfect. That is incredible. We are in a VR revolution, with touch controls, "feeling water" in a game? Its almost Holodeck level stuff.
they have been literally saying this since the 90s... its just not gonna happen. Its a gimmic thats always cumbersome to setup and exhaustive to actually particpate in. Its just something to funk around with now and then and thats it.
@@ImmortalDraylo Comfort and accuracy of tracking remain the biggest hurdles. Long term they amount to pain on your cheekbones and motion sickness. And motion sickness is by the way almost impossible to solve. You can't mimick the actual accelerations the game simulates when you move in-game. Comfort will be solved with lighter designs like the Bigscreen Beyond. I have a good high-end PC and the original Vive, smaller form factor and reduced motion sickness would make me play VR just as much as I play other games.
Cute little Astrobot figure amongst PSVR 2 game cases! Astro has NOT missed a Sony console release since his conception. He is NOT going to miss out on his big PSVR2 debut. I believe Astros Playroom WILL be fully playable in vr and updated to take advantage of the PSVR2s new features. Can't wait!!
@@ssj3vegett0 I heard it was invite only and never received one from Sony…didn’t think it would be available any time soon so only recently found out that they actually are!
@@prplehearts yes invite only. but now its clear anyone can have one. but EVEN THEN lol you should've still saved friend. you knew eventually even if you thought you get one in april or so ...you would get one. going forward i want you to do this. save save save till you have 1,000$ for tech related stuff. and never touch that but only for tech related (psvr2 falling in that category) then you will always have $ ready to go...then when you deplete it, and buy what you want...resave. then when you have 1k again, you dont touch it, even if thats 4+ years out till PS6 comes out, but youll be ready to go when ps6 comes out...goodluck -ive been doing this since PS2 days, almost 40 now. i always had my tech stash, and got everything i wanted on release day. and after i bought what i needed i resaved, and had $ ready for the next thing..it works, been doing it for 20 years.
Cool video 👍👍 I preordered the standard version with the charging dock station. I already have Grand Turismo 7, No Man Sky, and RE Village, marinating in my PS5 fridge until launch. Peace ✌️
Gaming is where VR shine and Sony made a very good product here, My 2 cents: I would suggest PSVR2 players to clip the cable to their pants, it helps a lot you'll see.
This might bring more people into virtual reality. There’s probably a large body of gamers who would buy the PlayStation five anyway, now they might be motivated to go ahead and get the headset and try virtual reality for the first time. Getting flatscreen gamers to try virtual reality could be a big plus for the industry.
The trade off for wireless in graphics is just too much. Standalone headsets are ok for beginners but for me who had played vr for over 5 years I need more details in games, so the wire really doesn't bother me.
Wireless would be a joke. Would not last 20 minutes. Wired is ALWAYS the way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Mike, was waiting for your unboxing and review since long time and finally here it is. I don't trust others so is very important for me to hear about PSVR 2 from you. It's great you want to giveaway your preordered PSVR 2 and would be great for me since i'm a little channel and dont have the chance to purchase for me, nor the chance that PlayStation send me one for free 😅. So far there's no way i can bring contents about PSVR 2 for my subscribers. Hope i'm the lucky one. Thanks for this video.
hi mike! I love your content and I am happy that you are back and I hope I win bcs I am thinking of buying one , but in my country its 2500 bucks , so yeah I hope I win and sorry I made the comment long , and have a happy day!!😀😊🙂
I'll watch this one because you didn't tip it over and dump it out all over the table. Two other unboxing videos did this and I couldn't watch it anymore.
PSVR2 is a good buy for PS5 owners. I'm a Quest 2 with gaming PC owner and waiting for Quest 3 release before I decide what VR headset to purchase next. I still like the convenience of stand alone capability and also being able to have access to Oculus Rift library and Steam VR library because those are huge libraries with more titles being added every few months.
Probably won't be able to get one soon but I am super excited for those controllers! The adaptive triggers are already pretty cool on the PS5 controllers but in VR I feel like they could really up the immersion and it would be a welcome addition to the VR experience!
GT7 VR reviews have been really positive and what little I have seen looks amazing. I have the game but I'm still on the fence about the PSVR2. It would be awesome if you dove into that first. Can't wait for your review.
Main developer them selves said it’s one of if not the greatest experience on VR we have to date, obviously a little bias maybe, but he also was critical of his GT Sport on PSVR1. Credit where credits due, I’ll take his word for it.
It's was your videos that prompted me to buy an oculus quest 2 now they've gone and done it again, now I'm gonna have to save to buy this 🤣 Great video as always keep up the good work
I don’t now how can I win this vr headset but if I get hands on this, it will be great for my collection of vr. So tell me what do i have to do. I do everything for that and I mean it!!!
Have you tried the Pico 4 i have owned a Index Hp G2 and a Vive pro2 i will gladly exept a little less graphics quality to lose the cable and i even had a pulley system on the ceiling.
The Pico 4 has pancake lenses wich makes it light the Quest and playstation VR have fresnel lenses wich have more glare. You do need a good GPU and a wifi 6 router. But you can buy a Pico 4 and a Bobovr battery back and strap fore less then the playstation VR. I love the haptic controllers en eye tracking but a cabel and those stupid earplugs no thank you.
@Ryuukami I already pre-ordered a PS VR 2. I had never heard of a pico before, and I don't have a high-end gpu for my computer. It's the games that PS have which is where I will go play.
If I had a PS5 I would pick this up, but the specs and features definitely look cool, hopefully I get to try it out sometime. P.S Vertigo 2 hype gang where are you
I don't really care about wireless vr its nice but not everyone will have good enough wifi or blue tooth for it and plus I would like less latency and delay as possible and not to have the image compressed so I like wired but it would be nice to have both options though I mean I guess the quest 2 has both but you still get a compressed image and that's why I switch to the g2 and us that on my pc and the quest 2 as stand alone but I don't mind it having no wireless stuff I prefer wired but I know other people would like wireless
Got this preordered already. Can’t wait for the 22nd. The sad thing is that no current retailers in US are selling the hardware or games yet that I can see and when asked said retailers, they don’t show anything coming into inventory for 2-22-23 for games physically or accessories. Going to hold out on buying any games till I get headset and worse case buy one digital till physical copies of games I want are able to be purchased
Pre ordered the bundle and charger bought a ps5 too as they are easily available at last. GT7 is the main reason I’ve chosen to go back to PlayStation. Dependent on how good it is, this may lead to the Quest 2 being sold.
Personally, I'm really curious if it would be possible for a third party to develop software that lets this headset work with PC VR, because the specs and features sound really cool, but I don't have a PS5. The single USB C cable connection has me hopeful, but I also don't know if PCs can output video through their USB C outlets.
Thanks for the video. Can’t wait to get mine. I preordered it because of GT7, but preordered kayak and will get Horizon as well. That’ll keep me busy for quite some time I reckon 😅
sadly it's unlikely to get official support, and it would take years for third party pcvr, if at all. psvr 1 took years and that was basically a monitor with a headstrap with some sticks
@@VirtualRealityOasis LOL, I prefer the creamy one XD But those controllers really are exciting. If there weren't the Pros from Medduh, they'd be something I'd want for the Quest.
I hope more VR multi-player games get cross-platform support AS ... multiplayer content for the PSVR is needed for VR console to go mainstream. I know we have Pavlov, but we need MORE!
Looks great… only blemish is the lack of two additional tracking cameras on either side of the sides of the unit. Anything going behind your ear; such as knocking a bow for instance, is going to get lost. Otherwise, neat tech. I think the price is $49-99 too expensive but I preordered one :) I simply need to experience Horizon VR myself. I will have it no other way!!
You don't actually pull the bow back behind your head in real life. And grabbing an arrow and stuff like that has always worked well with inside out tracked headsets. The predictive code going on in the controllers means they're pretty much where you think they are for a good few seconds while they're out of sight. If you pull the bow string behind your ear in real life, you'll just end up taking off your ear and your cheek sooner or later. When you shoot bows in real life you draw the string to your lips and aim down the arrow. Controllers will be within view when you use bows the right way. Always hilarious seeing people shoot bows in VR :D
@@vgaportauthority9932 lol that’s fair enough, but there are some other cases where it might crop up as an issue. I think mostly it’ll be on the user to just train and stay within the limitations
That hoodie is a penguin hoodie, a Canadian clothing brand that is so good. Just like really high quality stuff that you should buy before the world discovers it and starts manufacturing at turbo mass production.
SUBBED! Great coverage! PSVR2 looks like the next gen solution where other VR Headsets were lacking. Sure the cables there, but its addressed so many other issues AND improved the visual quality so much, it should be a hit!
Bro I’m so exited for this. On the first psvr I didn’t really use it because of the bad resolution and the screen door effect because it would make me nauseous, but this new psvr 2 is gonna be sweet. I already pre ordered and got 4 games for it!
Looks like a really solid offering and may be just the headset to get people into VR and really get the ball moving and gain some traction with main stream audiences. I know a lot of people are knit picking and complaining about it, but it’s has a really good specs and features list for the price, and asking for wireless with the same capabilities is a little unrealistic and entitled. They just need to eventually unlock the headset for use with PC or at the very least offer PC controller support, because it would only increase the number of units sold for sure. Take a note out of Xbox's book and get people in the ecosystem, regardless of where the consumers are. It's a win win for everyone and hanging on to console exclusivity is a dying idea of the past fueled by a pointless pride/loyalty to something very arbitrary.
That new VR hardware feel, thanks Sony for pushing the envelope with a whole range of stellar features included by default, without calling it Pro or Elite 🤣
Pavlov is launch day release now, confirmed yesterday. No idea when firewall is coming out, but Pavlov will probably keep the FPS community going for a little while.
Do we have a release date yet? I feel like this should have been the game that you release along side the PSVR2 too so everybody needs to own it. It would have a much bigger launch I believe!
I’m so excited for this. Thanks for the video!! I haven’t been this excited about new hardware since the PS1! Looking forward to your thoughts on comparing this to other PCVR headsets. I’ve been waiting since the original Oculus Rift CV1. Still use it, but I think (hope) Sony will deliver on the games we’ve been longing for in VR for a long time.
Thank you very much for the wonderful product review I was very happy to see and was waiting for this product to be unboxed May I ask what is the weight of the retail product packaging including all the contents? in KG (not including shipping packaging)
@@undead2481 sony would never. there against it. and that was with tech 6 years ago, im sure they made psvr2 even more difficult with more advance encryption. so all you got is modders, and by the time they figure it out, itll be around ps6 release...
@VirtualRealityOasis I cancelled it man, I gave up. Nothing to do with money. I can afford it. But can't see myself using it tbh. I've never tried a VR headset before so that is also one of the concerns I have, not sure I'd like it that much
Hello sir! Yes, I have preordered my headset and can’t wait. Unfortunately my son who had the same address is currently unable to pre-order his headset due to Sony’s rule of one per household. Can’t wait for your full review, though I’ll be forming my own opinion. Great video.
I'm going to wait and see for this one, only want to buy one new headset this year and going to wait until I see what the Quest 3 looks like before jumping. I already have the original PSVR, a Quest 2 and a Reverb G2 so have plenty to do in VR for now.
