www.longplays.org Played By: ScHlAuChi One of the first Playstation Racing games. It wasnt bad but needed much more tracks! - Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!
I had this, Toca Touring Cars, Tekken 3, F1 97 (amazing) and world Cup 98 brilliant as well. O and the diehard trilogy with the light gun. All really really good games. Man I'm old 🤣
I've been trying to find this game for years! All I remembered is that there was a yellow and pink car and a snow level, couldn't for the life of me remember the name. Thank you so much for posting this and the other games your channel is amazing and brings back so many memories :)
My gosh this game was so good. Ps1 is legendary for the feeling it created. So many classic games. Demo one with that music sends shivers down my spine and I feel like a kid again. I hope something great like this comes along again with real genius and not just a cash in like most things now
This was the one game on the demo disc which came with my playstation that I always wanted as a kid but never got. The attitude of the racers yelling at each other at the start, the graphics, the backgrounds... when I got back into collecting video games this was the very first one I ever bought. A d I played it non-stop for a good 3 or 4 hours and unlocked everything. Very short, but fun
I couldn’t find this game ANYWHERE in stores back then. I only played it through a demo disc. It had pretty good graphics for the time. They haven’t aged too badly.
Controls: X=Accelerate, O=Handbrake, Triangle=Reverse, Square=Brake, Up=Horn, Down=Rear view, Right=Move car right, Left=Move car left, L1=Change down gear, R2=Same thing as L1, R1=Change up gear, L2=Change viewpoint, START=Pause and press again to resume. Your welcome.
This game has always oozed style. Despite being essentially a porsche boxter commercial. There is just something about the art style and sound that just gets me.
For some reason the soundtrack just popped into my head today. I remember renting the game almost every week when i was young, just hearing the sound effects takes me back.
Played this game when i was around 7/8 when my uncle bought us a Ps1 on a small resell market. It was still in the late 2000s, but i did not know anything else than these games and i loved it. Wow.
I remember playing this on a PSmagazine Demo disc and thinking "Holly CRAP! This is the most amazing racing games graphics and physics wise EVER! Please bear in mind when I played the Demo I was in the midst of a long and very serious "Must complete and unlock all secrets and cars and tracks on ridge racer revolution!" and this game also came out long before Gran Turismo...The only thing that did piss me off was that all you could drive was porsche's! Was still very good for its time tho
I bought this back in 1998 and loved it, yesterday I got a delivery of this game in post and going to play it tonight. I still remember some short cuts on certain tracks.
Remember I got my mom to get me the demo one morning with the Playstation Magazine and I tried it even before going to school. It was a very anticipated game.
This was my first racing game on the psx. I remembered it playing really well, and watching this video proves that it wasn't just nostalgia making it seem that way. Love it.
Whoa! Some of the courses in PSX Porsche Challenge reminds me of the Disney Masterpiece: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937/1995) Cinderella (1950/1995) Sleeping Beauty (1959/1998) The Little Mermaid (1989/1998) Beauty and the Beast (1991/1994) Aladdin (1992/1996) Pocahontas (1995/1997) The Lion King (1994/1995)
One of my first psx games! 21:11 , 27:39 - What is the music style is this? It's mix of funk and breakbeats? But does this style have a name? Where I can find similar tracks or the musicians? - Wherein can find those tracks? They are on RU-vid but not completed (Sorry for my bad english)
Yeah I remember playing this on Demo 1 and I loved it. Usually I don't really go for driving games, but this on impressed me. Plus it was the first game I played on the PSX that used both the joysticks on the Dualshock controller, which I thought was cool.
Physics were not soo good. Very Stiff. But played the demo and looked amazing. One of the best looking games on PS1. Cant remmember game that had fully modeled drivers in a car racing game. Track also very detailed. Greatly optimized game. Aside Gran Turismo realy could not find better looking Car Racing game on PS1. If they fixed the physics and added like more cars that would be a smash hit back in the day.
Wow this brings back memories. As a kid I loved this game haha, remember "Marco the italian", Rachel (she was so hot lol) and the other 2, so fun. Miss those times :)
Ou man it was 1997 at this time was 7years old every morning at the weekend, i played Porsche boxster challange, Demo 1, nfs 2... This memorys.. Everyone feel with me.. Greetings from Germany
I tried the Demo of this game back then, when I got my PSX brand new. I was only used to Amiga graphics at the time and occassionally played a bit of PC at my mate's house. And damn, was it smooth! :D
Since it doesn't have that many environments (but with six different ways to arrange the track) to race your Boxster and the Boxster is the only car you can drive in this game, this is more of an advertisement video game.
"Alright guys, we need to advertise the new Porsche Boxster. How are we doing it?" "TV commercials!" "Newspaper adverts!" "Why don't we make a game and make it fun?" "Your a genius Phil, i'll give Sony a call"
i used to love the up triangle up triangle cheat for high voices, doing it over and over for the laughing sound effect, this takes me back, i wanna go back lol
I vividly remember seeing this game the first time at my friends place when I was a little kid and thinking.. "Woah.. we finally achieved photo realism in games!!" 😂🤣
The main thing i remember about this game is that as an 18 year old i rented it, then the very next day i got sacked from my bar job. So this game always reminds me of getting sacked lol
