I was just thinking about that because I was telling my old high school buddy the story of why I started using the name Jackal for all my video game characters names. It was because of Jackal from this game obviously, but yeah - An HD remaster of this game would rock so hard!
The cutscenes.. damn. I really like the post-apocaliptic/futuristic aspect of this game. Nowadays it's so rare to get to play games like this on today's generation of consoles.
I... have been looking for this game... forever. Just hearing Frank Welker say "You can beat your dog, but you can't beat that" brings back so many memories.
loved this game. Rock n roll racing 2: red Asphalt was one of my favourite games as a kid. The soundtrack is awesome too. Played it so much. So many good games on ps1 before internet was a big thing so people never heard of them.
Man this game brings back memories. I used to play this and take turns racing with my friends. I never settled for less than 1st place and would angrily restart the race if I even got 2nd. I remember doing bomback -> aztec -> nightmare (faster to fully upgrade but then the game got harder later stages) or tigershark -> hellfalcon -> nightmare. (took longer to upgrade but game overall felt easier once car upgraded. I never liked the tormenter. I always missed. Watching the missiles fly out of the hellfalcon and nightmare always made me happy. Skills made you faster and steer better, lock on faster, and deal more damage.
0:00-0:17. Oh how many times I heard that beautiful sound as a teenager. Where did time (and these wonderful games,) go? My best friend Ben and I had 2 Playstation's linked together to play this bad boy. We got all the way to the end stage, only for it to freeze on us. Talk about getting upset! Oh, the memories! 😆
I just found out tonight what the name of this game was! It has been bothering me on and off for the last two years since I started collecting games! So glad I found it^^^,
I adore the difficulty level in this game. They made it just right, and the art style still looks as awesome as it did when i was a kid! Back when they knew how to make games fun. Replayed it recently. I wish a remake with the same style was possible. Interplay Entertainment made some great hit games in the '90s. Also you play excellently :)
08:40 Unmistakable voice of Tony Jay. Utterly superb. Jim Cummings' too. What a pair of voices to have in this game. Takes me right back to the SatAM cartoon villains.
Este fue para mi uno de los mejores juegos de carrera con armas del ps1, tenía el mejor soundtrack de todos, en especial la canción del minuto 21:10 buenísima canción!!! Simplemente me trae unos muy lindos recuerdos
The best death screaming I have ever experience. Especially the one at 1:22:03. I am thinking to extract this as my SMS ringtone. This game is like "mission impossible" without using instantaneous S/L at every corners.........
Jesus, I remember this game being so cool 20 years ago. 12 year old me thought these were the best graphics ever. How times have changed. Says the guy that plays Minecraft.
your not alone, i used to think Jetforce Gemini on N64 or FF8 on PS1 had amazing graphics, even my brother who is 7 years older than me once saw me playin FF8 and said "i dont remember it looking this pixellated" and frankly i dont remember Jetforce Gemini looking like it does either, i guess when we are kids especially back in those times we perceive things differently than we do in later years as adults, kinda funny huh?
A big mutha truckers plus wipeout plus Star Wars EP1 Racer + Destruction Derby + Burnout + Carmageddon; I am honestly surprised and disappointed that this title didn't receive a more modern update on the current video game or media consoles ?!
I used to own this game way back in the day over 20 years ago. I loved it and beat it so many times! To this day I still use Jackal as my gamer tag and a ton of different RPG characters of mine have had that name as well. Lol Jackal was so bad and his voice was so mean! I have such fond memories of that game and of that character! I wish more people would have played this game and liked it! I've heard that it wasn't very well received and that makes me sad because I thought it was fantastic and extremely fun. How could you not like racing at super speeds while blowing way the opposition into bloody chunks?
the main mistake of many is the choice of the second car, I chose the first one and went through the game until the opportunity to buy the last one appeared and this tactic is awesome!
Tmr, este si que era un juegazo, por fin lo encontré ahora lo volveré a jugar 😭😭😭, no recordaba el 😅nombre 😢 este juego remasterizado en PS5 sería buenazo...!!!
How do you get the two player game on? In order to utilize the Two Player modes, you'll need a Link Cable and two separate PlayStation consoles. So that's how they sucked more money out of loyal customers in the 90,s, such gratitude! Bastards!
This game randomly just came to my mind after 20 years of playing it. After watching the first 10 minutes I remember why it is the coolest Racing game ever made with one bad to the bone story haha can we get a remake playstation??
its actually a spiritual successor to Blizzard's Rock and Roll Racing, in fact in the EU release it was called Rock n Roll Racing 2: Red Asphalt though its not set in the same universe (yes, the same Blizzard known for Warcraft and Starcraft) Blizzard had a rather humble start in games, they had 3 in particular prior to Warcraft first coming out on PC way back in the 90s..RPM Racing, Rock n Roll Racing and Lost Vikings, back then they were a fairly small studio
А для меня она всегда была "быстрейшей". Ибо даже тогда я уже успел повидать более красивые соньковские игрушки, но реально вот до сих пор не знаю PS1-игры с движком быстрее этой.
I NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN. If anyone knows how, PLEASE. The memories this brings back and absolutely nobody I know has heard of or played this before.
youll have to do what i do - either a PS1 or PS2, since it doesnt work right on PS3 (not all PS1 games work on that unfortunatly, despite the backwards compatibility) or you can run an emulator but that may not be as smooth depending
the trick is to not let him get behind you, if he can only use his rear weapon against you hes a pushover, but you do have to keep pace with him for that to happen because he moves fast and the arena is one giant circle so if he gets too far ahead he will just come right up behind you and thats when he destroys you
ok wait a minute...i remember playing this game a long long time ago when i was a kid, and I got the bad ending instead, I rmeember something that says "cheaters never win" when i defeated dranek. the ending scene was aboard a prison ship. I forgot what did I do to get the bad ending. can anyone explain why i got the bad ending? i kinda forgot
Rock N Roll racing was amazing, I don't know what this is but it must have been it's own game (Red Asphalt) and then they just dumped the RNR name onto it for brand recognition. It just isn't the same :/
yes, thats the game's soundtrack, all the audio in this video is straight from the game i know because i still have my old copy and it still works just fine, provided i hook up my PS1 or PS2 since the PS3 cant run the game properly (while the PS3 is Backwards Compatible with PS1 game discs, not all of them work because its basically running an emulator to do it and so compatibility isnt 100%, but its close! sadly this game is one of the ones that doesnt quite work)
Обалденная игра, но с гейплеем беда в том, что всё слишком быстро. Часто бывает, что просто не успеваешь в поворот и тыкаешься в стену. Не знаю зачем так, но это очень жирный минус. В остальном она великолепна.
I can't believe it's the sequel to SNES/Genesis Rock n' Roll Racing that had licensed soundtrack. They could put like 15 popular rock/metal songs on the CD but they gave it a typical instrumental music found in most racing games at the time. Too bad.
