Amy Cuddy is the kind of person who is actively making the world a better place! Great talk 😊. As always, you’re world class cool, Lewis. I really appreciate your work towards the betterment of humanity 💖
Louis you always do the best interviews. Open heart. Amy this is the first time I have learned of you... you are such a humble beautiful soul it has been my pleasure to listen to your message.
I am so Thankful for programming like this. I have always dealt with feelings of inadequacy and not being good enough ever since I was a child. I have been meditating four to five months since finding this program and seeing Dr Joe Dispenza and changing the mindset that criticism is negative and now am able to take criticism as an opportunity for growth. I am so Thankful you are following the calling to help others 😊
She is such a beautiful person, truly helping to empower other's and make the world a better place. I love it! Much Gratitude to all involved in making this video. 🥰🙏💕
“Anyone whose goal is 'something higher' must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.” ― Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Very well spoken. Being a RN, at first it was awesome being able to treat the patients without the family interfering. However, this feeling quickly turned to heartache as our patients dyed while being in the arms of no one. Our heartache deepened for patients and the families we had an opportunity to care for!
Courage and personal power, is one the most freeing acts of social bravery we can have. When we affirm to ourselves what makes us us, helps us perform better in all areas of life. I love the fact that Dr Amy is a pathological optimist. I must admit to feel very similar! Such an awesome interview Lewis, you rock.
Although Amy gave many insightful messages and valuable information, her staccato speaking actually may be showing anxiety she is not aware of as she has probably had it all of her life. It actually gave me a stomach ache. Her facial features also demonstrate being uptight. She also is not a model of public speaking as she uses "um" a lot and would probably benefit from attending Toastmasters.
@@patriciaacove4602 I hear you and yes, she has self doubt like many of us. Some show it more than others. It takes courage to speak publicly and I commend her for it. The awareness of their own tension and tightness in one who has been with anxiety for a long time is often amiss, I see your point here. I hope she finds her way with this. Sometimes we develop in areas of intellect or skill set and not in bodily self awareness; often in the area that we specialise in. I specialised in stress management and was burnt out by it many years ago. Then turned to the skills I helped others with. This in turn transformed into a discovery of personal creativity with music and voice. All a learning and evolving. I hope this feedback finds her in a place to receive and go to the next level. What a power house she will be.
Too much of everything harms so there must be balance even in your self-confidence and the right way how to balance your self-confidence is humility. Do not think too high about yourself but also not too low, find the balance. Be confident but also show respect to others, be kind. It is hard to achieve but it is worth it.
All of Amy’s truths are EXACTLY what I live by. Didn’t always stand tall. Working on conquering my feelings of smallness. Thank you again, Lewis, for bringing another beautiful message to us! ❤️
I have never met Amy Cuddy, but she is the first person that described how I felt (that I was faking it) as a new professional and I also came to that realization that I was doing the job and I am not faking it any more and I cried when I heard her say it and felt freed that I wasn’t the only person who felt that way in the world. LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!!
Thank you Lewis for bringing us these golden nuggets of life. U and the people u interview are here to help mankind evolve. Keep pressing on. You are awesome. We can raise our vibration as a species. 🤗
she's Brilliant! & so right, i was in an abusive relationship when i was younger and wasnt allowed to look up when i was outside. that relationship ended 22 years ago & only 2 years ago i realised i was still doing what he told me to do and only ever walking with my head down. im much more happy and confident now
Thanks, Sir. Be certain that I feel very fortunate having the privilege to see your videos as they are very explorative of situations, conditions, things, people. "More power !"
The "making your bed" conversation was funny. I actually talk about it in my TED Talk...making your bed is one of the most effective and easiest triggers of joy, because it gives you an immediate sense of success :). Love your channel Lewis...I do not comment a lot but I follow you a lot!!
So am 50 yrs old and as a youngster studying at boarding school for 7 or 8 yrs we had the discipline of making our beds 1st thing in the morning..zo our dormitories looked neat ..n we were nit allowed to mess it up till evening .i still practise that today.
Great ! Humanity at its best, left me feeling hopeful...just beautiful how you described the nurses story with such genuine admiration and pure love, I was so moved by your love for her
Lewis's studio is like a home 🙂Of course you are unique as an interviewer and the one who has the personal power your guest is speaking about For me you were the first who tried to change the man' s story, the myth
I am grateful for the goodness you are promoting in the world. Truth speaks to our souls and reassures us. There is an inner ‘knowing’ that is activated and validated when we hear it. The cognitive dissidence we feel in today’s tumultuous world is ‘called out’ and made clear. So many reassuring ‘aha’ moments here. I too feel like the weird one with regards to my attempts to be optimistic and yet I’m fighting that inner pull to a negative bias. Old programming tries hard to keep me from growing but I see that I’ve always fought against it. I’m healing and gaining more true confidence in being ‘me’... realizing that it’s OK to just be authentically me... quirks and all. Letting go of worrying about what others think and setting boundaries, living truth, living and learning while setting goals yet not limiting myself by trying to orchestrate every moment as life unfolds. Learning to be ‘present’ is the biggest boon. Entering ‘possibility’ and growth is the result. Goodness and greatness go hand in hand. Thanks again, Lewis et ‘al for your contributions to the ‘world of greatness’ that is there for all of us willing to partake. 🥰😘🙏
I am so glad I clicked on the wrong screen! This was the best interaction between 2 people that were so captivating right away I loved this video I didn’t agree with some things but I loved hearing you don’t have to like it I loved the breathing practice as I had learned from my psychologist JUST WOW
Just discovered your channel, I must admit I already watched multiple videos already. Very insightful, interesting and great advice from every person you interviewed on different subject. Keep on doing a great work!
Very insightful, very helpful. Yes, in a "on the edge" society, with individuals ready to jump into attacks,, and already dealing with online bullying, how do you gain the courage to show up?
Amy is great. But any method (like self affirmations) can be valid at any moment in a person’s life. Saying that anything “doesn’t really work” is a mistake. It definitely works for a lot of people. Psychologists are more controlling or bossy about how stuff “works” I find.
Really enjoyed this interview. Great questions and liked Amy's perspective and advice. I respect her Ted talk more than a academic"wanna-be". She's refreshing and positive.
I love the end where Lewis gives Amy a big thanks and lots of appreciation. She really does deserve it. She uplifts so many people and I hope she does feel acknowledged and appreciated. ❤️
I observe some people in our society like to bully successfu young l people especially when young women focusing on knowledge. No need to apologize or feel bad for being successful.
I am always trying to be conscious about my posture wherever I go..the breathing exercise WORKS! I always had a hard time falling asleep and now puff 😴 less than 5 min and I sleep like a baby.
Anybody who talks on haveing dyslexia who can’t use a pc or read books looking for there talants on what they good at and how to find it please. Good video I listen as I fall asleep thanks again
LOVE this. So glad I found this tonight because I'm beginning to feel like an alien not giving up on the underdog and light workering. It's not easy, but it's fulfilling. And this world needs heroes. ha! just looked up your zodiac because I was thinking Leo, as I have a Leo moon and Mars in Leo in 5th and 6th house. Aquarius sun. I'm guessing Gemini or Aqua moon and Aries rising because you seem to have so much air/fire. and lol I now have a new ability to guess accurately people's sun signs (90% accuracy rate) and Lewis, you scream Pisces and sure enough, you are one! thank YOU, google.
This lady is on point she has a beautiful mind every lady in this world just as beautiful if they use their mind as self respect understand of pending to be a boldly mind
I've been more afraid of FALLING FOR THE TRIBE. I NEVER FOLLOW THE TRIBE! That's the KISS OF DEATH TO PERSONAL GROWTH IN MANY CASES SUCCESS! Some have argued you need to BREAK FREE FROM THE TRIBE to chart your own course. Eagles fly alone and soar high.
Yes my son is 20 and still doesn’t want to get his DL and thinks he will have a perfect job and plays online games all the time on the Internet except for when he sleeps and eats maybe go out with family but would rather stay at home that encounter people….. idk what you really say to him or how to help him
I was thinking of this song while listening and looked it up for correct lyrics. I thought youd appreciate it! Rats it wont attzch..."Accentuate* the positive " by Bing Crosby.

@ 28:46 If you examined the motives of those colleagues making the comments, they are likely competitive and envious and cannot stand another person's success. Competition and belittling are often found together. I suspect having "thick skin" is important when giving TED talks.
Massive confidence in what?...You could be really good at video games but suck at talking to women. Hence you have massive amounts of confidence with gaming but not women...and having confidence in one aspect of your life doesn't necessarily mean it will transfer...I believe you should take what is most important to you in your life and build confidence in that avenue...that will make you happy. Later on, if you shift focus, then you can try to build confidence down another avenue...life is beautiful and always changing...learn to accept change and you will have a beautiful life.
Honnesty to acept watt i am ,just a human and courage to change watt fear change the perspektiv of my reality ,and its hurt but no pain no gain because the power its for meg love and belive idont need to be perfekt anymor.
