Leary was doing real work. His mapping of consciousness and mind really became clear in his theory of eight circuits. Further expounded upon by R.A. Wilson and Antero Alli.
Instantly subscribed!🥦Excellent interview, I will look for Mike Jay's books.😃 I didn't know you had a channel on RU-vid, but it popped up in the recommended videos.👍 I remember watching some of your TV interviews (Thinking Allowed), my favorite was when you spoke to Terence McKenna. /A Danish psychonaut 💐👨🚀🌺
Nitrous is quite the stuff, I'm pretty sure that childhood nitrous experiences at the dentist were formative to my desire for psychedelic experiences later in life.
Wasn’t that more in how careless he was with his patients tho? I read Markel’s book about 7 years ago and it was fantastic but I don’t recall Freud being shown as abusive with cocaine on himself. Though, that could just be because I’m comparing it to Halsted, who definitely abused cocaine. Mike Jay references Markels book in his own FYI.
Leary testified before Congress that licensing should be introduced. Just as a drivers license is earned based on responsible demonstration before being issued. A jet pilot has an even more stringent set to follow and demonstrate before being able to responsibly pilot the jet aircraft. Same analogy to responsible use of psychoactive compounds.
I have had a vision with only the light pressing of my eyes by a ostheopath/physioterapist while working on my neck pain. Red dots became a lion, 😅, just like stars became Mufasa in Lion King. I have tried psychodelics, but I still think that is not as good as the experiences I had without. However, I have only had few experiences. I just don’t think the “trip” is worth the hangover, or whatever. But then, I am lucky I can have experiences with a clean body. I would love to hear about your thoughts on it, since I find myself very lonely on my approach. Either people are crazy about psychodelics, or don’t like it. And I am neutral.
Last thing I ever want to do is try drugs. I'd be afraid to loose control of my self and think it be funny to destroy a country by slamming an asteroid into it or something. No thank you. But to each there own
