One note: when Kendrickl performs this song he has the crowd sing a good portion of it to him, almost like he's having a stadium full of people tell him to be humble.
He's talking about his own ego... Angel vs devil on your shoulders arguing with each other... Like hey! Sit down and don't f up you whole life behind your own ego! Be humble, Sit Down!
Tom never dissapoints. There are some song titles I see on reaction therapy and I go uh oh. How will Tom put mental health into this? And than I look at how long the video is and I go " Tom has a special talent😄" great reaction Tom!
So in the context of the album, he got a song called pride Which is very calm and chill and in contrast humble is more aggressive to make it a bit ironic, also I'm not entirely sure but I think people said he wrote this song to tell himself to be humble, with the whole B word I doubt he is talking to a woman specifically
He is actually speaking to himself. The whole song is about all the things he has attained and reigns supreme in as is the way with mainstream hip hop, then stopping to check his pride and remind himself, “sit down, bitch, be humble”.
He is taIking to both men and women. First verse he mentioned bitch which should represent women and throughout the second verse it was about himself, representating men. Generally, there's a way we feel when recount our achievements. We want to feel like we did all by ourselves, our intellect, we feel like we are better than others but this time is the time we need to be really humble. So many did better and don't achieve same results.
There are a wealth of dope songs of his for you to analyze, but I personally wouldn’t really consider this one tbh. Not sure what you have done already, but FEAR, U, How Much A Dollar Cost, Father Time, Why We Cry, XXX, Sing About Me/I’m Dying of Thirst, DUCKWORTH, and ADHD to name a few. Oh and FEEL is probably the best song for analysis out there of any artist honestly
You should check out the artist JID. He just dropped what many consider to be the album of the year, and he's considered one of the best, if not the best up and coming rapper of the new generation. He's basically like if Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, and Andre 3000 had a baby.
You should do u by kendrick if u want a good song to breakdown therapy from kendrick. Also great reaction, glad you were able to look past the fact that it’s explicit and still give the song praise!
When that beat drop he went crazy I love it!! Kendrick tone is so unique it brings you in not with only vocals but the beat sonically it sounds so pleasuring !
You should definitely listen to now or never by Kendrick. Great theme, great message, great for mental health and overall song or “I” by Kendrick. Dope song with a strong message as well
Hey Tom, once again a great video keep up the great work. I would love for you to react to “How to love - lil Wayne” with the music video. One of my favorite rap songs of all time.
Kendrick is my favourite rapper. His music inspires me to keep making my own songs. I want to meet Kendrick one day. I have to keep practicing because I’m currently terrible at rapping.
If you ever have time, I would consider giving I. Flight of the Navigator by Childish Gambino a listen. Very beautiful song with plenty of expressionistic lyricism
The album where humble is on there is a song titled pride and it's slow, while humble is fast and hype, which should actually be the opposite. Idk if he intended it but it's cool to think about it
Good afternoon Tom, Yet another iconic Kendrick Lamar track. I've seen this one in commercials, Dance shows, social media shorts, and movies, to name a few. Loved your reaction!
I like that you appreciate the music and can feel it. You missed the point of this song, the DAMN album is self contradicting and every song is the opposite of the title. A song titled “Humble” and every bar is K-dot stunting, bragging, lacking humility. The hook is him talking to himself
Gotta do "Pills in the Regal" by Juice -- someone different style than things you have listened too already as well as dipping into unreleased music. (If you are avoiding unreleased music I understand!)
I love these! I think you should listen to some Conway the Machine. 'The Cow', 'Stressed' or 'Half of it' all have the qualities I'm sure you'd like to hear/address.
i love the way you find ways to preach but i dont mind when thers nothing to teach i enjoy your precence im in therapy myself i would love to speak with you your amazing
An artist I adore, I think you might be interested in is Ricky Hil, I’ve listed a few songs here Ricky hil - (Songs) “Understand me” “From hell” “Tryin’” “Deadpool” “Can’t stay away” “What does she love in me”
You have to have to have to do “insane” by Eminem. And “fack”. You really wanna know what Eminem is all about as a person and how deep he really is. Listen to those. They’re so inspiring. Please listen to them
