It is based on a true story actually! When both singers met for the first time Yung blood was telling Halsey about the song he was writing, he had seen a story about a couple who was together in hight school but ended up breaking up. When they were adults they decided to get together after all the years and she got into a car accident on the way to meet him. Its definitely a sad story!

The cool part of the story, in the studio Yung Blood was like I really think Travis Barker would sound great on the drums for this song. Halsey called Travis and 15 minutes later he was in the studio with them.

I was told grief is not linear. I'm glad other people suggested this song, too! I thought it would be perfect for your channel. Its a beautiful song, and a great way to start talking about grief itself. It doesn't matter what he would have done, he wasn't going to be there in that time. It helps seeing what that loop or coil of grief might look like. Both musicians have a lot of great mental health related music.

This song gives me chills I loved this song until it cut me deep. On 8/2/22 my Mom found my uncle dead on his floor in his house. He was 11 minutes away from our house. He died because his pancreas ruptured from severe alcoholism. It has been rough since

I lost my husband, the father of our 4 kids, while we were all on a family camping trip far from any help. He had a massive heart attack at 35 and passed away in my arms, right in front of our kids. I was mad at the world for a long time. Then thought I was doing ok only to realize that I never let myself just miss him. I heard everyone tell me I had to be strong for my kids and I really tried, thought I was. I fell apart when my youngest ,at the time, started telling as he got older how worried he was about me. Kids need to know that sometimes it ok to not be ok. Trying to hide that is far worse. This song highlights how grief can change and change you but it’s never quite as neatly wrapped up as this. I really think that needs to be stressed, as you mentioned. The expectations people around you have can often be too much. My husband supported my own music, buying me equipment, sitting quietly in the other room as he listened, never saying a lot. Took me 5 years before I could even go back to it. I still miss him every single day. Love your reactions.❤

idk if this is right or not but the story i see is she died in the car crash and he was 11 minutes away. which is why he is trying to make it to her before the timer ends. when my wife and i divorced a few months ago i used to listen to this all the time since my new place is 11 minutes away from her

Halsey is my favorite artist! She’s an incredible poet and writer. She’s so real and open about real life experiences with their bipolar and bisexuality, experiences with miscarriages, abusive relationships, and women’s rights. Would love to see more Halsey ❤yungblud is amazing too. They’re both great people as well and are still friends after they broke up.

This song hits me so hard every time. My best friend died from alcoholism April 29th 2021. She was my person, my soul mate, my ride or die for 20 years. Grief is the most brutal thing anyone ever has to go through.
