That’s all they do, RU-vid trucker content is flooded with these clowns. For everyone one decent trucking video you have to scroll through 5 prime videos with dramatic clickbait titles
I left Prime a month ago to come over to J.B. Hunt. I worked at Prime for just over 4 years and rarely spoke with my FM. I ran the way he suggested and made good money. However, working MYSELF off of a load board has been the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s not a great week one week and then the next week is horrible. It’s been consistent 5k gross to the truck per week. Why? Because I run how and what I want to run and I’ve been home every weekend. I’m not sitting waiting for sales to tell me there are no loads or to dh 300 miles for a load. I will say that all the things I learned at Prime as a student and as a trainer has really come in handy over here. There is a lot more freight over here AND there is no cap to what I can make. It’s what I want to make each week.
Yeah, the ones who want to stay local or on a dedicated route are hurting because they limit themselves. In this market, it’s about being flexible. Also, drivers are still expecting COVID rates and get mad or butt hurt because they have to run a load at 2.50 a mile. Just having control on a load board has made a huge difference in the consistency of my pay each week.
@@highwayoftruth326are you on the flatbed side? I’ve been considering JB Hunt the the very same reasons but I don’t know anything about the flatbed side at that company if it even exists still
I drove for Prime as well as a solo driver. Sure there are wait times from time to time. I arrived at a shipper recently the day before appointment because they had overnight parking. I went in to see what the earliest I could check in the next day. That same night they knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to get loaded right then. It’s all about professional communication with there shippers and receivers in my eyes.
I just paid my truck off in Nov, so I got lucky on timing. This is my million mile year, and never had a service failure or claim. But this camera thing does have me thinking about other opportunities, but not until the market turns positive. I like being rational not emotional in my decisions.
As we deadhead from Ohio to California as a team. 11 years here, that was only the second time, ever, and the first time was at the end of January. This is the worst I’ve ever seen it. Like Dusty Rhodes said, hard times.
Remember, it’s your business, your equipment, your team… Reject garbage like that next time. Matter of fact, I suggest you leave Prime. You’re too far up their a** if you really did that 😂
I stopped hauling reffers because the delivery times and pick up times the dry van freight may pay horrible in certain areas but atleast u can find freight when you’re empty
I’m company driving at prime Inc as a team and I’m also leaving this month . We rarely hit 3500 miles as a team . I’ll be going local to haul fuel instead
I came in during the worst time. THANK GOD‼️ honestly because everything im getting is the best money ive ever seen. My dispatcher is great i make on average 15-2500 a week. My bad weeks are usually 1200. Great weeks are 3-4k but those are like kind of rare for a solo driver. I always take off every other Sunday. And like to have time to squeeze in Pilates. The wait times suck but im more of a lazy driver😂 so unless im hitting multiple weeks thats are like under 1200 im usually good. But also prime has great terminals. I dont have to drive fast. I dont have any expenses other than wifi, my truck and Pilates membership. I live on my truck full time like an appartment while saving for a house so im very happy. 😊
When it slows down like this you need to stay out longer. You can’t be home every 4 to 5 weeks. I’m doing fine but that’s because I stay out longer & I don’t stay home as long. I used to stay home for 2 weeks but now I stay home a week.
Interesting🤔 my damn recruiter is telling me its no openings rn and probably wont be until late summer...🤔 lemme finish this video because my receuiter must be bs'n
@@tvcoproductions3076 there’s no such thing as a driver shortage, there never was. They just say that cause the attention span of people is a few seconds, so they get to avoid topics like a solution to problems in the industry like parking, that they never touch on. And when someone starts asking too many questions, it’s “there’s a driver shortage” and everyone forgets what they were talking about and move on
ay bro did u notice at fridays prep rally that one old lady voicinng her opinion and really standing on business and than dude turned around and basicaly said "ohh, u want to go against tha grain, well now u get a camera and welcome to our pilot program"
@@Paine462 yea man and u cud tell she was shy as fucc and she went up to stand up for every single driver in that company and worked up tha courage to do it snd they hit her with that ...hold my beer smh they really lokey r foul for that. didnt take a single word she said into consideration.
@@Shawnjames21 its alot to type. jus go bac to watch it. shes their special guest soeaker and she is a driver and she really took up for all tha other drivers
Ive been putting up numbers with a trainee. Wait times and dh are crazy right now. Might have a 3k miles load that takes 5 days as a training truck running as a ream truck and the other 2 days will start setting up the next week
I’ve been saying it’s the downtime not the rates since last year. I’ve been holding strong but idk how much longer I can go. I haven’t been home since Christmas and I can’t even afford to go home the 24th like I planned.
People are leaving Prime because it sucks. Pretty simple. Having fancy gyms at the terminals doesn't pay my bills. I left for a dedicated job at another mega carrier and couldn't be happier.
I literally had to move out of FL just to join Prime since they weren't hiring down there anymore. Not even Swifty swift would give me a chance in FL. I had no other choice but to move back to NJ.
I hear that freight will rebound "hopefully " within the next 2 quarters. Run smart, Run efficient and tighten up....we'll roll outta this blood bath...no problem.
Due to covid and freight rates and demand skyrocketing we have so many people getting into this industry as an O/O or as company driver and we are flooding the availability of drivers,we now have major inflation, low supply and high availability of drivers, low rates and longer load/unload times the cleanse is ending alot of these new drivers careers, this market will pick back up again and itll repeat
Hey @Fr8sK8R, I'm looking at coming to Prime as i am deadset on getting into commercial trucking. Would you advise against coming to Prime right now? I'm looking at going through CDL training at Prime, any insight is appreciated. Thanks
I did and regret it. Don't go into flatbedding as a company driver. They will charge you 5k for the license and about 6k for the securement equipment. No company driver should pay for equipment. Plus you just don't make that much money flatbedding at Prime. 👎
@jimmycagnee65 if your company and can get the miles, it's reasonable, but if you are lease, you will be fighting to stay profitable. It's not worth it.
