On todays video Patrick and I continue the clean out of the house and discover a HUGE safe hidden away under piles of debris! Subscribe for more! Items will be up for auction in Dec at kauctions.ca worldwide shipping on most items
Found this channel by algorithm. Really like how the narration isnt overly dramatized like other channels, and that Alex just talks through his finds in a genuine manner. Pretty refreshing.
My brother is in the process of doing this with my father's hoarded house so that we can settle his estate. I'm glad videos like this show people what a total NIGHTMARE cleaning up after hoarders and "collectors" is for those left behind with their mess.
Your house clearing series are addictive. It's fascinating to see people's stuff and wonder at all the forgotten memories. I hope you find some amazing treasures.
I know they're a lot of work for you, but I LOVE watching you go through hoarder houses! You just never know what you'll come across. Thanks for sharing and take care!
How I missed you unhoarding a place! This probably won’t be as gratifying as the Musician’s house and I know how much work is ahead of you guys but it’s amazing that this amount of stuff will be rescued from going to a landfill. Fingers crossed for lots of hidden gems!
Same here "No way" I have my own boxes and boxes in my home and in a storage unit that i should go through before I die. Had a good yard sale this past summer made over $400 and people say my yard sales have very unique and good collectibles. so they keep coming back :). I have one guy right now that wants to buy $1,000 worth of comics but I will only sell them when I need some extra cash. many more comics I can sell. Even sold some to a guy out West who also wants to buy more from me.
Im sure someone else has mentioned but HOLY you could make junk journal fun kits! So many things i wish I could get my hands on that was thrown away and given to the thrift store!!! Yes a lot of work and fun to go through if you aren't on a time limit and had more help. This is a huge load, a collector of a sorts. Shows not all Hoarders are "messy" TV shows the worse cases, people would be surprised how many hoarders live among them AND non hoarders that have questionable living conditions mental illness, procrastination, lack of skill etc does NOT discriminate. Thanks for being proper about the people you purchased the location from. :) Bonus for you but yeah, ephemera for DAYS you could kit up for people that craft and junk journal! Im going to go clean my little closets now and kick off my spring cleaning .. THANKS! :D
I'm convinced these people had a booth in a flea market at some point in the past. They were hugely popular - all the price tags add to my thinking. Lots of great stuff, thanks for taking us along with you.
I hope Alex will auction those big boxes again, so people can buy a box full of toys or mugs or Christmas wrapping paper. Everybody loves a good mystery box! 🙂
Hey Alex, that Kodak instant 📷 camera at 36:34 mark,is the exact same one I have..my very first camera which my parents bought me back around 1980 by memory. I still have it stored away with all my other various cameras. 😊 Love watching your adventures and all the great stuff you find. Keep up the great work and stay safe! PS: Your family are so nice. Blessings to you all 🙏❤❤🇦🇺
Alex, the fake eggs are used to encourage chickens to lay their eggs in nesting boxes instead of all over the place. This way you can have clean and fresh eggs every morning without the hassle of having to search the coop or yard to find them.
Thanks what a treat with all the videos back your very interesting to watch been a few years watching I'm my 89 old father's only caregiver he also watches I always have you on for him on all your library keep going strong you have a very lovely family
Alex you could have put a sign on the front lawn for the neighbors: FREE ( for all the stuff you didn’t want to take with you) You would be surprised at how much stuff you could get rid of without having to haul it anywhere else.😊
Amazes me the ginormous variety of different kinds of crap- vintage cameras to brass egg dating kit then some paper plates… then vintage art prints and 300 pairs of nothin’ special shoes --what an adventure
@@differenttakethanmost it is an endlessly interesting adventure. I don't the reasons behind the hoarding. Watching the walk thru the house is for me a look not only for interesting things but also for clues as to why this happened in the first place..
I just love every time you have a new hoard series to clean out! I dabbled in professional organizing for a few years recently in the Seattle area and watching you go through this home makes me want to jump into the TV screen, develop a system and join you guys in the dirty work! Haha I am rooting for you guys to uncover and seperate all of the furniture from the boxes! I think you rabbit trail so much Alex but it's quite endearing. You'll say "we have to do xyz task" then within seconds it's, "oh look, a 1960s collectible toy car!" You're a hoot!
We bought a hoarded house in a small town and I literally donated everything that wasn’t trash. It was mostly trash. The local thrift shop was like “stop, we are full” 😬😬😂
You are so funny, you always make me laugh! I adore your sense of humor! When you found the menstruation book, and said you are your wife's disorder, I literally laughed out loud. You sir are a breath of fresh air. 😊
The toy bag from 00:22:06 contains Pet Shop toys. They are one of the newer ones, but they are very collectible. And probably will be coveted in the future! They've been around about thirty plus years and the older ones are already been collected seriously.
A lot of dusty old goodies. The adventure of sorting is so much fun. Specially if you don’t know the person. You can look through the stuff and giggle a little bit. Just WOW. Love seeing this stuff thank you for sharing.
One of the tins in the box of "tobacco tins" behind the piano was a Cisco tin from 1967 celebrating Canadas centennial. The red case with the manicure tools in i was given one just like it back in the 1960's when I was a kid.
So fun! You are just a wealth of knowledge Alex. You seem to know what's valuable and what's not. You and Patrick have your work cut out for you. I do believe you will come out ahead. So much nice furniture too! Thanks for taking us along!
Omg Alex ..take the Chippendales board game in full veiw to the hotel when checking in tonight! Freak the clerk out!!!!! Goes with the case of rubber gloves and sequined nightwear of Patrick's....lolololol. I'm spewing wine out my nose at the thought of the clerks face....
My grandmother just used a regular pencil. Her fingers were swollen and painful from arthritis, so she couldn't use them to dial. If you took her dialing pen, you were in trouble!
@@ValleyOakPaper I used to use pens as well. I was very young when those phones were around and it was difficult for me to turn the dial without the pen.
Alex you need to wear a mask, there could be and probably is mold in there! I don't want my favorite junker to get sick!! Really enjoying these videos! It's fascinating what people hoard!
The Horseshoes at minute mark 33 are a puzzle. Get the ring off the chains. Such metal puzzles were common to see in bars and restaurants decades ago, to test the skill of the patrons.
Don't forget to check for hidden compartments in the rolltop desks. Many desks have them. I have one and you can't tell its even there without pulling all the little draws and panels.
Hi Alex I'm so proud of how creative and giving you are. I was watching a show about Canada and the problems with housing, interest rates, sky high taxes and imigration and inflation through the roof. In Vancouver the median price of annoyed is 1,200,000 for an average home there. You did so well this last few years I'm sure your tax man is your best buddy or not. I think you built your dream house at the right time. Debt is the killer for growth and saving. How can an average house sell for 1,200,000 what jobs can pay workers so they can afford that kind of price. Immigration is the same problem we have. Every dollars used of imigration takes your tax dollars out for your own neighbors pocket. This is the time to get out of debt as soon as you can. When the banks fail because they can't print anymore money they will be calling in all the loans to stay liquid. You are a great generous business man and your lucky your wife is a teacher with good income. I just see you working so hard and successful business are going to get wacked to play more taxes. Might be good you sold your bulidings. Good luck I know you can work through this but tons of people won't please have security at your house, cameras it might get crazy for a while. I've learned a bunch from you and I thank you. Semper Fi Neal Apollo beach FL
Oh I tell you what, I’ve been clearing a huge house out pretty much on my own for what seems like forever so far. I thought it was packed, but seeing this home made me kinda appreciate how much less it has. It’s hard going through trying to clear a house, particularly a home that family members lived in. This is really interesting through
Hi from Australia! I’m having a ball watching you go through all this old stuff. Really hope you come across some really cool things to exceed your break even point. Very exciting!
Love your showing! I would suggest you pay closer attention to the different pieces of glassware you find. I watch other people selling from their thrift store finds and selling for really good profits!!
Great episode, lovely to see Patrick with you I enjoyed the funny voice, and laugh you crack me up each time you laughed, Great seeing the furniture and items which will help. Can't wait to see part 3. 🙋♀️
As you sort through the boxes and furniture I can’t help but wonder about each purchasing decision and what in their lives resulted in the acquiring of so many items and then keeping it all for so many years. How long were they in the property etc. I’ve moved multiple times in my lifetime & each move inspired me to eliminate some clutter & unused things. It would be hard for a close family member to sort through it as it may bring back memories. I keep hoping you find something valuable. Enjoy your channel. I too found you shortly after the Potter’s house.
I am amazed at how long I am entertained by going through the contents of ONE box! :D I love this. So many more boxes to go! And that predator is awesome. 🥰
I just watched one of your videos, my first. It was a part one of an X part series. It would be super helpful if you'd keep similar naming convention so it'd be easy to find the subsequent parts.
Enjoying the “opening of the boxes!” …oh and the Wade whimsy figurines from Red Rose tea are highly collectable. So lot those up and go through them all because some of them are worth up to 700$!
Please for the love of god get a go pro...... for safety, so you can use both hands when your climbing around. So excited to see all the treasures..... i love it when you do a series.
That green glass cup you pulled out of the newspaper IS rare! You need to see if there are others! It’s uranium glass, in the pattern Royal Lace by Hazel Atlas.
I noticed too! I didn't know the exact pattern, but I could tell it was uranium glass. He should check the whole box with a UV light to see if there is anything else hiding in there.
The Disney in me yelling at the screen, "The Disney Park bag and box are rare! Keep it all together and auction it!!!" It looked like it was from early EPCOT.
I recently watched a Roll Top Desk restoration and the top wouldn't go all the way up. Because??? Lots of interesting things had fallen over the back and were under where the top goes and blocking it. Have fun. P.S. If you just cut the tape and flatten all the empty boxes you will have a better view of what"s tn there and they can be retaped and reused when needed.
Hey, I just watched that same episode of the roll top desk on the Fixing Furniture RU-vid channel !?! He did a good job bringing that desk back to life but kept its antique integrity. You are right about the empty boxes. I used to work in a warehouse where we shipped out items in boxes and became good at forming the boxes and sealing them with packing tape and a tape gun. I have used that skill many times moving from one apartment to another over the years.
Hi Alex, I was also worried when you said you paid $20K for it. I just thought that may have been a little too much. Hopefully there will be some good stuff in the safe. I feel that you will do okay in the end. You have the Predator, furniture, safe and all of the rest of the items. I just hate that it’s going to take so much time in order to go though everything. I am worried about the short time line they gave you to be finished. I will say a prayer for you guys. Looking forward to seeing the next video.
When you see toys like that, I’ve heard it can be worthwhile to look out for 90’s McDonald’s toys. Millennials tend to be nostalgic for childhood. (I can say that because I’m a millennial).
