Pretty cool, we use very similar driver/amps for our semiconductor plating lift/spin/rotate heads at work. When installing two spades or ring lugs per screw on a terminal strip like line 1 and 2, install the bottom face down and the top face up to get them to lay more flat.

Generally, one wants to avoid ground both ends of cable shield; any current should flow only on ground wire inside the shield. Ideally, the heat sink fins would run vertically for better convection cooling. Driver box cable cutouts should have chafe protection (grommets).

@Anonnymouse53
@Anonnymouse53 11 месяцев назад
I have an SFX-100, and it looks to be very similar on paper, same drivers and THANOS controller, motors too? Though I've only 3DOF setup now. What's the rub here with Surge/Sway vs. say a G-Seat solution. I have 2 spare outputs and the preference (but not requirement) for a smaller physical footprint. My gut tells me that a G-Seat would be better for sustained G-sway loading (essentially no travel limit), with the drawback of no braking force. But if I already have belt tension for braking, am I missing out not having that linear motion? It seems to me that roll cues would be much easier to product with actuators than XYZ motion without wandering too far from center or having massive travel. The 3DOF was an easy decision, but once you go beyond that it feels like there are lots of decisions/considerations and without direct experience it seems difficult to navigate the minefield of options considering just how damn expensive it gets. Great review, very insightful / useful.

Without this detailed video of yours, most of these would be a pile of bars and wires on the floor a month after they were received. Lol. Great explanation. The company lists a free upgrade to 200 mm stroke on the surge actuator. Do you have that on this unit or the 150? They also show the steering wheel supports and a seat in the product description. Does it come with those? Thanks for sharing.

was just about to purchase 2 actuator kit (D-Box 2250i Gen 3) which would cost me about $5300 shipped. Looks like I can get 3 actuator system (for iRacing members) for $2799 shipped, and really interested to see your next video and how they compare in feel to the Gen 3 4450i review you recently completed. Was always curious as to why D-Box reduced their prices so much, without seeming to sacrifice on quality, and maybe other players like PT could be the reason they are selling for less. I'm sure D-Box is the better system, but I'm guessing it's not worth double the price 'better'. Does the PT system have the same 'vibration' tactile feedback system baked into the actuators like D-Box? Thanks Barry!

@Globespy
@Globespy 4 года назад
@@tronicgr - so what does this mean? People with existing PT-actuators will have a software function that essentially does the same thing as D-Box vibrations effect? I heard from PT-Actuators that they do not promote the vibration effects incorporated by D-Box due to the impact on reduced life expectancy of the actuator as a result of the vibration effects. And how easy will this plugin be to implement? Is it just a software update? Or hardware modification?
@tronicgr
@tronicgr 4 года назад
@@Globespy true, while the actuators are capable of such vibration effects its not recommended to extensively use them as it might shorten the life expectancy of the actuators (which right now are life time guaranteed 😉 ) m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GiXrXPJ6l98.html

Can a PT-actuator work with mitsubishi servo drivers MRJ?
@tronicgr
@tronicgr 4 года назад
No... its not going to be plug and play using other servos. It will take lots of custom wiring and experimenting to get proper parameters to be compatible with AMC-AASD15A, that is if the Mitsubishi servo drive even has similar digital inputs-outputs like the AASD-15A servo drives...

5:40, I would be ashamed of the termination of those power cables. You should NOT ever have lose strands visible beyond the end of the crimp, this would not even be acceptable on a 12vdc system let alone a 110-220vac system. The Earth terminal is fine, but the other three are not good.
