Off topic question do you run a thermostat in your race cars? Do you run a heater core?

I’ve got this thing with my sm where when i let off the gas especially at higher rpm’s, bluish smoke will come out of the exhaust. i read somewhere that it’s because of the cross hatch in the block that cause the piston rings to line up and allow oil to pass through and get burned. what are your thoughts?

On my son's spec Miata, I wrapped the padding in a cheap piece of leather. It should help prevent the wear and tear on the padding as he gets in and out of the car...
