An accurate scale model, my favorite kind. No better person but JZed for the job. Always good to have an experienced technician on it.

The images on the model sales webpage serve as a better assembly guide than the instructions. Doesn't look like the level of QC expected for a $250 (+shipping) item. "mechanics feel" - lol

If a skilled professional can’t make sense of all the parts, what chance would I have? Time to rewrite the assembly instructions.

That other Canadian.....Not as successful in teaching me about Jet engine tech though!!! I get most good info through you and Mentor pilot. Mentor is more along the Cockpit procedures so the overlap is perfect.

Thanks for what you're doing. You definitely have better things to do with your time I'm sure. I come from an internal combustible engine back round. Suck,Squeeze, Bang,Blow, So just learning about continuing combustion is eye opening to me. I flew for the first time and before my flight I had to research how the CFM56 works which lead me to your channel. Wish I could do what you do. Just so much more pressure when the equipment your working on falls from the sky when the engine flames out.

haha yeap, as a retired CAF Instrument Electrical Tech, the wiring on that motor is more than cringeworthy ;). Two postings during my career had me working on CH-135 Twin Hueys with the PT6 twin pack. Definitely a reliable power plant.

I went through the instructions. Those two pieces are at the top of the assembly in step 10, the instructions for mounting the motor are in step 11. You are right though, the instructions are pretty bad.

That 250 is more interesting. I had no idea that the Bell Jetranger only had 250 shaft HP. Wasn't that a 5 million dollar chopper? I thought it needed much more power to lift 1.5ton straight up. It's not far from LSA power. Is that compressor one big cast section? or machined sections. I assume a replacement engine costs the better part of a million today but it looks like it could be done relatively inexpensively.

How many aircraft were affected by that recent Canadian PT-6 recall?
