PTC launched a Michelin restaurant in Brazil to create awareness for a rare disease. "SQF" is an abbreviation in Portuguese for Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome, a rare disease that limits diet intake to 20g of fat per day. To understand this struggle, a single egg has 5g of fat.
To create awareness for this disease that affects 1 in 1M people, PTC Therapeutics did the unimaginable and launched a Michelin restaurant: Mocotó SQF. Mocotó SQF was the first restaurant in the Global Michelin Guide and in all of Brazil to offer a tasting menu with less than 10g of total fat. To accomplish this, PTC worked closely with Mocotó, a globally acclaimed restaurant included in the Michelin Guide since 2015, and Chef Rodrigo Oliveira, star of famous culinary reality shows such as Iron Chef and Master Chef. It was the Chef himself who announced on social media that his restaurant was changing its name. We changed everything: the facade, uniforms, delivery packaging, social media, the food delivery app, recipe book, product labels and more.
During those three days, restaurant goers with "SQF" could - for the first time in their lives - dine in a restaurant, socialize with friends and family, and eat fearlessly.
