Hi all!! I just took my exam last week and I passed YAYY. I live in south Florida. I studied using the PTCE bank and 2 books the PTCB simplified( best recommended) and PTCB hero and Amanda videos. My difficult level was Math and guess what… …around 5-6 questions were Math 🙏. I got the surprise that the exam was different from mostly I studied but using the “common sense” helped me a lot. Mainly you have to memorize drug brands- generic as most as possible(diabetics drug was top notch) be familiar with side effects of the drug class and interactions, controlled substances (everything), pharm tech functions and laws as REMS and ISMP, look alike drugs, Refrigerated drugs and stability was asked. I had a couple questions about vaccines too. Meanwhile, yours can be different to mine exam I’m sharing my experience. Good luck to everyone!!!

I took and passed the CPTE in 2008 and have been working as a PhT since then. I was recently hired at a vocational school to instruct the Pharm Tech program. These videos have been extremely helpful! To remind me of what is actually on the exam vs. What is used in "real life" pharmacy. Thank you for your clear explanations and the time you took to make these videos.

Hi Amanda just wanted to say how helpful your videos were on prepping for the ptcb. I passed the test with mainly taking notes from your videos and couldn’t be more thankful. It was my second try taking. First time was last year, I went a textbook route from Amazon and the info was just not sticking to me. I’m definitely not a textbook learner, but more of a visual and your videos helped so much. I will definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a study approach, to you 😊

I just watched the PTCB exam practice test 1. I really appreciate the way you explain all the answers and the step by step instructions with the math problems. I was a bit confused on question 77. I got 31 as the answer because the final day asked for only 1 pill for 1 day. Thank you so much for this video, I greatly appreciate your time and explanations.

16:40 For question number 12, you started to demonstrate the Tic Tac Toe method for the Alligation formula, only you didn’t do it properly (you just reused the Ratio-Method). The answer wont change, of course because you still used a proper method, just not the one you were demonstrating. The setup for the equation for the tic tac toe method as it’s taught to Technician’s after figuring out the total parts is: Total Parts/HC(or LC) part = 100/x, and then you cross multiply. In this case, for HC, it would be: Step 1) 1.5/1 = 100/x | Step 2) (1.5)(x) = (100)(1) | Step 3) Divide both sides by 1.5 to get x by itself ((1.5)(x)/1.5 = (100)(1)/1.5) | Step 4) x = 100/1.5 | Step 5) x = 66.6, thus we need 66.6g (or 67g) of the higher strength. Just wanted to clarify, because someone may not enjoy the ratio method as much, and may prefer the proper way for the Tic Tac Toe method over it. Other’s may not enjoy this method, and may prefer the Ratio method (which, as I said before, was displayed twice). Thank you for helping with reviewing for our exams. We do appreciate it. Hi Amanda, your videos are great! I did catch a mistake however - on question #77 the total number of tablets adds up to 31 because the last part of the sig reads 1qdx1, not 1qdx2. So it reads 1 tablet every day for 1 day. Just thought you’d want to know in case there is a way to correct it.

So excited to announce that with help from these videos as well as additional study materials I passed my PTCE today! The additional materials I used to study was a recommended book and the PTCB Practice Bank. I also recommend purchasing the pre-PTCE exam as well to test yourself to see what areas you need to study more. But overall these videos were definitely helpful for memorization!

I've worked as a pharmacy technician for a year at this point and I've unfortunately failed my first attempt at the ptcb after my temp license expired. I have my second attempt upcoming and your videos have taught me way more regarding what I need to know to pass the exam then I learned on the job so thank you so much

Question 12, I did it a lil different. I took 100x2 =200 Then I took the 67x2.5 and 33x1 and added and it should equal (100x2)
