PTR had nothing to do with the C93 IDFK why this guy thinks they built them. Those Century guns are parts kit shit they slapped together with dodgy receivers. PTR just put their roll mark on the final lot Century put together and dumped them out of inventory when they discontinued the line.
@@nevileasterling648 The HK clones Zeniths sells are made in Turkey and import of arms and ammunition from them is halted. Turkey is being sanctioned for doing some terrible shit. Turkeys corrupt government are awful and doing business with them should be discouraged.
@@Lonewolf6565 I have not heard of these sanctions. Nothing has been announced like the Saiga ban of 2014 and the Vepr ban of 2017. Where is your proof?
Everyone rags on the century version but mine has never had a hiccup in 8 years, it eats everything. It’s the only 223/5.66 I have that reliably eats cheap steel case ammo.
Really nice video and possibly the greatest Gun Trio available: your C93 with the much lesser-known superb HK P7, and the extremely effective MP5. I've seen multiple 'special police' (Bundespolizei etc) carry the regular MP5 in Frankfurt, Munich, L. Heathrow and at least a few train stations in Europe. Search for some attractive German police ladies who also carry these...…….. A former coworker (pilot) near Memphis has a select-fire MP5 (and s-.f. AK), but he hasn't bothered to join a gun club. At least two in the area allow you to 'qualify' for select-fire. One of them is in Lakeland TN.
Nice video, thanks for sharing. I just picked mine up last week, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I couldn't pass up the price when I saw the email from Buds. I haven't had a delayed roller rifle in several years so looking forward to playing with mine.
For $550 seems like a pretty sweet deal. Can't wait to get mine to the range when it shows up. Just wish I didn't have to add a paddle magazine release to it.
Hello. The problems with the slamfire is easy to fix. The hammerspring for .223 is NOT the same as the 9mm. 9mm, 5,56 and .308 have different springs. .308 spring is to hard and slowed down the bolt. The bolt tense the hammer. The bolt runns not to the end position. And the 9mm spring is to weak for fire up the primer. I have all three springs. The 9mm is the longest. 308 is shorter and the .556 looks a little bit as the .308 spring, but the dimension of the wire is fewer. And the fullautolever in the triggerpack have a wheel in 9mm and 5,56mm. In the .308 packs an the machineguns are lever with no wheel. Greetings from Germany
I got one of the first run C93 rifles when they first came out. Never had any trouble with it. Even running my sear pack with a hybrid pistol/rifle hammer spring. Very good rifle for a shooter. But CIA stuff is always hit and miss. My FAL had to be sent back for feed ramp modification.
I don’t understand? You call it a PTR C93 but PTR claims they never made a 93. Your receiver says century arms so how is this a PTR. I’m just really confused about the whole thing.
There was a small batch of Century C93 receivers that PTR acquired and refinished a few years ago. This was one of those. www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/411558601/buds+exclusive+ptr-91+century+international+arms+inc.+c93+sporter+.223+rem+5.56+nato+40+1
Interesting, I don't use a ton of 855... but I've certainly ran my fair share over the years without any problems I can think of. ..Then again, I'm not firing full auto or out of hk clones... so I guess I don't really have a leg to stand on here... am I still typing?
I have a lot of Federal M855 NATO spec ammo which is good to go. Even though this AE branded ammo is made by Federal, I don't believe they load it to the same specs as true military M855. It's probably fine for semi auto, but it does not preform well in full auto.
Hold on with all due respect making the assumption that the ammo is bad is foolhardy. Maybe you should chrono a few rounds and find out what’s actually going on? It is possible the rifle is built improperly. Wrong spring weights? You already established the hammer spring is weak or maybe the firing pin is dragging on a burr? Assumptions lead to wild goose chases in my experience.
lrm1981 I really love it, it’s fun to shoot. only thing bad I hear about is the 1/12 twist in the barrel and some ammo not stabilizing? I haven’t shot pass 50 yard to know the difference.
I was looking at some 93 clones on gun broker. I was going to bid on a real HK93 but it went up to $3200. To high for me. Then I found a HK93, 1982 vintage, with two 25rd mags at a local gun shop for $2500, OTD. I am quite pleased.
I don't know why Germany didn't replace the G3 with a HK33 or 93 the G3 is a awesome gun but its caliber was hard to control in full auto it was replaced by the G36 and the 416. So from 1950 or 1953-1990 the G3 was used.
By the time the hk33 was somewhat considered, the Germans wanted a modernized weapons system. The hk roller delayed blowback system is pretty clunky compared to more modern or contemporary designs. The hk33 was just glanced at but never seriously considered for military service.
@@mikec8086 i see i wonder why they didn't ask HK to see if they could fix the issue but the G36 and 416 are better then the HK33 so maybe it was good they didn't
@@randommandoade1465 I mean the only reason they switched was because nato was switching to 5.56 and they needed a 5.56 firearm, thus they decided they might as well get the top of the line then. The g3 was fine however the roller delayed blowback system is not friendly in full auto. The bolts are pretty heavy in comparison and move at a fast speed.
Once you warmed it up ,The head spacing opened up and you got Click instead of Bang, Larger rollers. That is why the Brass ammo failed, Putting in the heavier hammer spring ,Just made it into a slam fire .You state You bought this PTR C93 Machinegun for $600, Yea right, Maybe a Post sample. or did you already have a registered sear.? Good luck, Later from Texas.
I’ve read these rifles have issues with the 30 round steel mags locking into place. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue as I just picked one of these up.
Steel mag fits in mine but they're always tighter. If yours doesn't fit, you can take a little material off of the top of the mag catch. Go slow and take incremental amounts with a dremel. I always make tweaks to my magwell/catch 93/33/53 series HK guns. I want my mags to insert and release with a certain amount of friction. Good luck.
The firearm was purchased as a $500 semi auto rifle, but the trigger pack is the registered Machine Gun, which is valued at $30,000+ and is highly regulated by our government, unfortunately.
@@lrm1981 Thanks for explaining this ! What a great idea. Love the delayed roller blowback HKs....please keep making these videos. All the best from London :)
Unfortunate reliability in this vid. Spent more time playing with the mags. The clone did not impress me and I would not consider it a battle rifle or rely on it to defend. Spent all that money for the tax stamp and it's not reliable. I'll give a second chance maybe it's just a break in issue? Anyway good luck with the CLONE.
