This is just a general impression I wanted to say to you sir. Im a final year medical student from a Sri Lankan university and I have learnt under dozens of consultants and registrars in our various appointments. I noted one interesting feature that is that as a whole psychiatrists are some of the most wholesome and kindhearted doctors I have met. I have become really surprised especially since the stereotypes against youll are complete nonsense. We have met devilish surgeons devilish physicians devilish paediatricians and devilish gynecologists but never a psychiatrist. I only have one request from you. You must have met hundreds of medical students in your career with mental illnesses and its only rising the strain is increasing to unbearable levels so much so that a large of medical students end up being unsound of mind by the time internship ends. A large number are scarred for life. I wish youll could lead the way for reformation and modernisation of the medical education curriculum and exam structure. Otherwise no one would want to become doctors and those who do become them dont reach their true potential and the remainder become zombies riddled with anxiety and depression and dying at early age of cardiovascular disease.
