I didn't understand bleed before either - so it has been a wonderful experience following you on this video thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us all.
Hi, Katharyne I always use Powerpoint and Tangent Templates to make my journals. I have to admit that I finally understand Bleed vs. No Bleed after you explained it here in this video. Thanks.
This was very good. I have been wondering how to manage the margins and whether I needed bleed. I will use this video as a reference. Tangent templates looks like a good deal. Thanks!!
Download 'Cute PDF' that way you can convert your powerpoint pages to .pdf . Simply click 'Print' and choose cute pdf as your printer, that will convert your work.
Thank you! This was so helpful!! You briefly alluded to the right side/left side margin issue - is there a way to set that up in Powerpoint? I think it's called "mirror margins"? Or do you just eyeball it? Do the Tangent Templates already take into account the mirror margins? Thanks again - this was seriously the best video I've seen on this subject! :-)
Not sure what adding the Dot Grid page from Tangent was about? Is this this for the page that goes opposite the "Dream Journal" headed page? If so do you only need to create one page with the Dream Journal heading, as shown in your video and export just two pages?
Hi Ann, many people like to insert lined, dot grid, journal paper etc. into their journals to give extra writing space or just to mix up the interior a little, so I was demonstrating how to do that. I'm not sure I understand your second question about exporting. When you upload to KDP, you will need a full interior, so you may want to duplicate the dream journal and dot grid pages throughout your book.
@@katharynetreasure Thanks for replying Katharyne! What I was asking was i.e. if the book is made up of basically the same two designed pages do you send in to KDP just those two pages for them to duplicate or do u send in the exact amount of pages you want in your book, such as 150? But then how do you go about setting out the pages in the order you want them if you have different in designs pages in your book? Maybe there is a video regarding this I need to watch? Also is Tangent mainly for Journals, diaries notebooks etc?
I am wondering if you could actually merge by doing the opposite operation. So you would export your PowerPoint slides as PDF. Then assuming you have the full version of adobe acrobat (not sure what the name is the full software is called..adobe creator?) you would break up the PDF create by Tangent and insert the PDF you created with PowerPoint. Alternatively, could you allow I the future the insertion of user defined templates in Tangent? My two cents.....
Hello. Can I get help? I did this... From 6x9 to 6.125x9.25. then saved as a pdf. My book has 106 pages. Also did this with an Experimental pdf that has 25 pages that only included a flat image in all slides extending to the full 6.125x9.25. But why when I upload does KDP switch my bleed to No bleed as soon as I upload the pdf and makes the bleed option unavailable? Saying I must use a print-ready PDF. Isn't it already Print Ready? No joke, I've spent close to 4hours just trying to upload 1 KDP book, used google, used reddit, used kdp calculator templates, used create space calculator templates, read the info that kdp directed me to but I cant find the answer. I just moved my books from createspace to kdp today. I know someone out there has uploaded in the format im trying to use hundreds of times but I have no idea why I can't seem to identify what exactly is the problem.
Hello! It sounds like there's a couple of different things going on here. Between Friday and today, KDP experienced a technical problem where they were issuing incorrect rejections on interiors, saying that they lacked bleed. They have acknowledged this and today, most people's books have been processing correctly, so I would try again with the bleed issue today. The Print Ready PDF is referring to the cover of the book, not the interior.
