Being that you add no way on your website to make contact, I will make contact publically here. I just read your new privacy policy and I encourage everyone who uses GE smart devices to do so. All my GE smart devices are unplugged. I and my information is not a commodity to be sold. The people who visit my property are also not a commodity to be sold. Your privacy policy summed up into one sentence is as follows. "We(GE) will use any information we can collect from you no matter what and use it to profit from you and we do so because despite our lie about caring about privacy, your information is nothing more than something to be harvested and sold".
Amen. Should at least be an opt out option... But preferably an opt in where those who want their data sold can sell it, for perks or money. Just selling my habits with no opt in and no ability to opt out should be criminal. Start demanding these protections in law from your elected officials. The EU is way ahead of the US in these manners sadly enough.
Hi there. We’d really like the opportunity to talk to you both about what the policy means and help clarify how your information is being used, as the descriptions shared here are not accurate. If you’d be open to a conversation with us, please connect with our team at www.gelighting.com/smart-home/contact.
