Today’s #WeeklyWednesday is from the Coronado Playhouse’s 15th annual free Shakespeare production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” I had an absolute blast playing Puck (for which I won an Aubrey Award for Best Leading Actress in a Comedy, plus a couple of CPH Blue Ribbon Awards) - and I thought I’d share some of Puck’s major scenes/monologues, plus a few other bits to tie the story together. I was credited as Ashley Foughty for this show.
Puck's best-known monologues begin around 4:00 (“My mistress with a monster is in love…”) and 8:40 (“If we shadows have offended…”). Shakespeare aficionados will notice that some of the language/pronunciation was modified for our production. I love that CPH makes classic works accessible to all, and have very much enjoyed the shows I’ve worked on or attended there!
I also composed original music (and did sound design/effects) for the show; I’ll link those videos as well :)
