After outscoring Puerto Rico, 67-31, in the 2nd half, USA won their first exhibition game, 117-74. Anthony Edwards (15 points, 4 assists) and Cameron Johnson (15 points, 6 rebounds) combined for 30 points for USA, while Tyrese Haliburton added 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 12 assists in the victory. Tremont Waters led all scorers with 17 points for Puerto Rico.

This is not some random collection of stars and future stars. You can just tell by the second chance effort, defensive switching, rebounding and balanced box score. This is a TEAM. Great to see and hope this culture continues. US Basketball needs it

As a Puerto Rican, I'm proud that they even get to compete in stuff like this because now the world doesn't even honor our flag like they used to. I never doubted it, this team has some talent! Looks like they enjoy playing with one another and that's the most important thing in international ball. That was a good game! Good defensive team and the scoring is there and plus they can get out and run. Size in lots of positions and that Austin Reeves has some skills! His game is perfect for international play! Tougher opponents will come but they will be good though.

Huge W for team USA, I like the transition game and there defence was great too. The effort on defence was insane and they were all rotating well. The energy was nice and you could tell they know how to play with each other.

Banchero and Haliburton really stood out to me. Haliburton, I think everyone's already talking about how good he was in terms of playmaking, really showed why he's on another level. Banchero was also a blur, just felt like he was constantly in good position to use his athletic gifts to make an impact play.
