Always go back to watch the 1st video of people I sub to. Mine is kinda "off" as well; but you did WAAAAAYYY better than me LOL. I used to fish for flounder back in 85 off the Nisqually "Pier" (when it existed. My first one that I caught was larger than a large dinner plate (caught it with my kid's Micky Mouse/K-mart kids pole). I didn't even know what the Heck it was!! An old guy next to me on the pier told me how good they were, and told me; "I will show you one time how to clean it/prepare it". I took that fish home and after frying it with some flour, it was (and still is), the best fish I ever ate! SKOL brother, keep up the great work here in WA! ~SotN

Dear Leif, I love your videos. Every time you invite us to be part of your adventures it is full of impressions and very satisfying espacially when you stuck at home in winter during pandemic. Even more it feels bad to chriticize you at this point. If you had the opportunity, to respect life and end the suffering of an animal quikly you should choose that way instead of putting it in a box to suffocate slowly. Nevertheless i enjoyed your latest videos and admire your respect and awareness for nature. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland

@NWFishingSecrets
@NWFishingSecrets 5 лет назад
Hey Chase! Thanks for watching and congrats on the new boat!! Lingcod just closed on the 15th, and you can't retain rockfish. Salmon is probably closed in MA 9 right now as well (refer to fishing regs). What I would go after especially on a first outing would be flounder in the flat areas SW of Possession Point in 50-80' of water. Use pieces of clam, fish, squid, worms, etc... They will also go after jigs in that area! If you can find areas with some rocks or kelp beds, you could try for cabezon, kelp greenling, and perch! Cabezon, like small crabs, so maybe try sand shrimp. They will also go after jigs. So will perch and kelp greenling! But I would definitely say to bring some floundering gear, as it is guaranteed fun! Also, since you have a boat now, I highly recommend downloading the "Navionics +" app. It's like $10/year but worth far more than that. Good luck and let me know how it goes!!! Feel free to send in some pictures of your catch (directions in my profile), and I'll show them off for you on my next vid.

Hi I live up in Vancouver BC , I catch them from shore I find the best time is one hour before slack low tide, high slack time would be good also at the right place , I go low slack because as he mentioned in the video sand worms , you can get these then in Sandy muddy type ground with rocks on top this is where I find them , these are the little creatures that bite you, I just use a sliding egg weight , put the weight on the main line , then a swivel with 5 foot leader , i hope this helps we catch these all around the Vancouver harbour ,
