As someone who LOVES me some Joe Scally. The issue isn’t his abilities, it’s how we play with our fullbacks. Gregg wants our guys to get higher up the pitch. Yes, Scally has more GCs than Weah (not my preferred RB either), but I think that’s a product of both good crossing, and a strong Mönchengladbach team. What Dest brings to the team simply cannot be replicated 1:1. His flair/ability to break a line with a great run isn’t matched by anyone in the pool. For me, I’d shift Wes to the right, where he has played well for Juve, let him bring the ball forward, and try to do what Dest does. He’d be much more successful at it than Scally would. Pair that with our winger depth being…well, we don’t have any solid backups beyond Haji, and I don’t like the idea of taking our best pure RW and moving him back.

​@Phogadacbiet Scally has the same deficiencies with Gladbach, that he has woth the USMNT, which is his weird inability to give up far post goals bc he loses his mark or the runner to his side. If we want to play the way that we have been for the USMNT with our fullback, then Weah is our guy, as he closely resembles what Dest can with the ball, has speed in spades and we know he can shoot and score from distance

@@ronniethomas8780 meh, I’d consider that a bit of a wash. Weah isn’t a defender. Even if Lille and Juve want him to be a wing back, he’s clearly shown that he’s not great on the defensive side of the ball. Not his fault, that’s just not the position he grew up playing. I sincerely doubt that positional play from Weah would be better than with Scally. Wes, at a minimum, has shown plenty of potential in that area from Juve. His ability to hit a very accurate long ball, to switch play, has been on hand a ton this season for Juve. And, I think he’s tactical nous on the defensive side is far better than Weah. Lastly, once again, Weah is our only pure RW. Pulisic plays their at club, but we have seen, repeatedly, that he looks best cutting in, and having freedom. I don’t think it makes sense to take Weah back, and move Pulisic there. Essentially you’re weakening 2 positions (LW and RB) rather than 1 (just RB).

@@Phogadacbiet for the record, I think it should be Scally that takes Dest' place as the starter, but I also think that means we have to change a bit the way we play, or we could go to a back 3 with wingbacks. The question is do we bring in another RB, or do we just bring Scally with the knowledge that we have 2 other capable RB's in McKennie and Weah, that would allow us to focus on supplementing other areas like in midfield or in attack?! I think Greg calls in only Scally, and we then bring in another midfielder or attacker

Yeah, it doesn't help when the gaffer changes everyone's position at the last minute and doesn't put pulisic in the best position. And even keep some of the best options on the bench.

@@matthewciolak3273 Joe Scally is great. I mean that. But I don't think he has the talent on the ball that Dest has, and that the USMNT desperately needs for the Copa America. There's plenty of talent in the midfield, and Weston is familiar with playing defense while also going forward, AND has talent on the ball that Scally doesn't. Not only that, it allows for Reyna to be in the lineup without any questions. Keep in mind that the talent level of the USMNT has to be at a level that can rise above the nonsensical way in which Berhalter coaches. I do mean "coaches", because he's not a manager, he's a soccer coach.

@@josuehernandez300 it wasn’t just against Inter. Pulisic has struggled against most of the top teams. I am not criticizing him. It takes time to adapt to a new league. He dominated the weaker teams and I am sure next year he will be awesome. Pioli’s tactics obviously did not help the situation.

As funny as it is to see the memory from Nottingham, those calls were exceptionally bad. What are these teams expected to do when since the introduction of VAR, the calls have been getting WORSE?

"Off the bench" is a term used to describe a player who is not part of the starting lineup and is instead brought into the game as a substitute.

Bro, why would Musah leave? He has gotten good minutes for a top 25 team in Europe. Obviously, if Pioli is sacked, and the new manager doesn’t rate him, then sure, but at this point, he’s had a solid debut season. There’s no reason to leave, especially being, at worst, their 3rd best 8? He’s clearly behind Reijnders. Adli seems to be a bit better IMO, but Bennacer is a 6, Pobega is kinda trash, and RLC is a 10, who Milan fans hate. There’s been no news of them going after more 8s, and with them competing in 3 fronts, again, next season, he’ll definitely play a role next year.

@@LaVerdad2 his viewpoints arent my personal issue here. Its his overly confident, "Im loud and proud" convictions that irk me to no end. He tries to stand so high and immovable with some of the worst takes I have ever heard. And once every blue moon, he'll strike gold. Hes also always trying to soften his remarks and deflect accurate criticisms(retrospectively) when faced with someone who knows what theyre talking about. His style is very propaganda driven and politically loud. I am just plain NOT a fan of that. I want to be informed, challenged, and educated by another perspective, not surface level triggers/click bait that will waste my time in the end because his views are dropping. But if there is someone like him you can recommend, who isnt him. I promise I will give them a good chance.
