Now you went and made me regret getting rid of my old mower, when I bought my new one. The only thing wrong with the old Troy-bilt was the trans-axle unit...
Lucien good job amazing. Love the fact that took somebody else's junk and created a product that is a huge blessing to you. It sounds like you're from another country. I am 3rd Generation polish and I can tell you this my grandfather my father with exact same way and I am too I'm hoping to pass it down to my child. There's too many people with too much money to waste on buying new things period and letting someone else do the thinking for them.
A friend/neighbor did similar a while back using a gas push mower pulled behind his rider to mow about 2 acres. He just took the push handle off and built a bracket to keep it in position like you did only lighter duty. When I followed along on the 1.5 acre area adjacent to my place with my rider it was done very fast. I agree with mulching idea but not only for safety but also to make less work for the right side trailing mower. It has to cut it's own swathe plus recut the lead deck's discharge.
oh just quit it I did tried it with 2 mower just that one time for the video. Usually i use just the lawn tractor plus the mower on the right so there is no problem of recutting the grass. But you got the right idea bout mukching I keep one pull mower as a spare thx for you comment
thats a huge lawn thats when i would need a 39hp kubota front mounted mower with 60'' or 72'' mower deck wich wouldnt take long mow it when it runs it's 28 miles anhour speed
Not everyone, it other parts of the country...can, nor want to, "Mulch". Lawnmower's basic design is to cut and DISCHARGE grass...not make cole slaw out of fescue.
martianshoes I was told to mulch to self fertilize the grass and it has made my lawn beautiful. It is a lot less messy and looks better than long clippings on the grass. I can also mow along curbs, borders, and cars without clippings all over the place. I have really loved it thus far!
I would put a guide bar on the front of the first of the driver so it will help with knowing where rear mower is at for your cut line or on on each side.
Lankster Price I did think about that but i usually cut with only one “pull behind mower” so it cut to the left so i,m always all right i just align my lawn tractor on the last cut
Lucien, A great video, but moreso, great ingenuity (or is that engineuity ?) with the design, engineering, and fabrication. Just wondering, did you say you were going to "do something foolish" or you were going to "do something Polish?" haha Peace, j/k
I think it was the 1960’s that Cub Cadet sold a pull type mower along with a special rear hitch setup so you could pull two, just like your setup. Can you take another video showing the hitch system? About 14 years ago I got a free Snapper SPA520, 52” commercial walk behind mower minus the engine, plus I have three Snapper SPA360, 36” commercial walk behind mower decks and carrier frames. The SPA series have floating decks. The SPA520 I think I’m going to turn into a pull type mower.
well..... im fckin speechless....this is the coolest , smartest thing you have created n woow how much you gain more ground...hmmm i guess its gonna be a millertime sooner then you think huh lolol
I thought about that too but then when youd go for your next pass youd have thrown down so much clippings on the uncut that i think it would either clog up or not cut right.
Look for John Deere SST15 SST16 or SST18 zero turn tractors with a bad hydrostatic transmission. Remove seat, steering wheel and transaxles and sell those parts. Install axle and tires in the rear and build a hitch on the front. Bingo you have a pull type mower since they are made with front caster wheels.
What next i have seen them all man connecting 6 push mowers behind rideon. One video on youtube for someone to make that is pull behind behind wife with mower there will be millions of views.
you think your yard would take too long to mow without the 2 extra mowers in tow? Imagine having to push mow a yard your size. I'd think a riding tractor alone would be heaven. And what is this your neighbor gives you a spare mower? This is the 2nd video today I've seen where neighbors give you free stuff. I'm lucky if my neighbors would give me the time of day.
How has the transmission on the John Deere mower held up pulling the other mower? I worry about pulling mr DR 60” deck mower with a smaller yard mower like this?
lucien morais Thanks...it would be nice to be able to add to my cutting width like you are. I’m currently pulling the mower offset with my Mule and it takes forever to mow 6 acres.
Alain Derome Je ne comprend pas trop ta question Ce sont des roues de tracteur a gazon et si tu demandais pour les montures pivotantes je les ai construite moi meme J,espere que ça repond a ta question
while heading to sturgis in 92, we was nearing the badlands and could see a big dust cloud far ahead....as we approached there was a ol timer and he had about 16 20 " inch mowers linked in a v pattern and was getting it done. maybe a cousin of yours , regardless a very smart man like yourself
Great idea but I wonder how long the transmission will last in that mower. As they're not designed to pull any type of weight for an extended period of time. In my humble opinion
Roger Lund my grandpa used his John Deere hydro matic or whatever it’s called as a tractor for many years, pulling a 28 foot tracker boat with it frequently, that was 8 years ago and the mower still drives now after a mountain of other abuses
