i've never really tried varying the pressure that precisely, i just wait for a few seconds in pre infusion then apply strong pressure until the end of the shot. will give this a go!

Hey thanks, that looks like a very good recipe. Is this for medium roasted coffee?
@KaldisCoffeeRoastingCo
@KaldisCoffeeRoastingCo Год назад
Yes, medium to darker roasted coffees are great on this and a bit easier to dial in than something on the lighter side!

which scale do you use in the video?

It’s sold under a few brands but I bought it as a “weightman” - most robot users go for it as it’s cheap and fits between the legs!

What should be final duration of shot?

@IT10T 8 месяцев назад
These lever machines are more analog and it really doesn't matter how you profile the shot that much, its personal taste preference. You can use them 2k plus prosumers with an app that makes you think you are getting instant feedback with the bloom, but that doesn't mean the puck is experiencing the same pressures as the machines plumbing. People asking what the workflow of someone else's shot without asking the cherry grow elevation, the roast etc, is pointless.

yes, I agree definitely. I was just curious at the time of asking, but I am now more aware of the possibilities that manual lever machines provide. Thanks @@IT10T

"Stop when you see the drips", does it mean "keep 2bar" or "go to 0 bar" ?
@KaldisCoffeeRoastingCo
@KaldisCoffeeRoastingCo Год назад
Yes great question! We recommend you ramp down to 0 bars after the pre-infusion, then after 20 seconds ramp up to 9 bars.

@@KaldisCoffeeRoastingCo Won't releasing pressure unseat the puck? I thought a constant pressure helps hold the puck in place.

@@chinadonconan6933 well you can't make espresso without grinding the coffee, adding it to the portafilter, tamping it and creating pressure. Granted you can get an electric grinder, and an electric espresso machine but the electric ones are much more expensive.
@alinaqirizvi1441
@alinaqirizvi1441 Год назад
@@chinadonconan6933 and you will definitely notice it if you do things like distributing the coffee evenly because if it's improperly distributed the coffee with taste burnt and bitter whereas if it's properly extracted it will taste chocolatey and creamy

It's all hand finished and checked by a one man band (Paul Pratt). It'll last for generations and no breakable /plastic parts - just replace the gasket when needed.

it's actually incredible value, will last forever and makes coffee just as good as machines costing 10x as much
