A quick and easy "How to" to remove the flywheel from a Motorcycle engine. This Hayabusa flywheel needs an M20x1.5 puller, bolt, or in this case, Oil drain plug. There's no need to buy a purpose built flywheel puller for the job. Especially if you're like me and would rarely get any use out of such a tool.

One tip I can add, I was warned by a elderly mechanic when I was young, now it is my turn to warn you...Using your fist to hit the wrench, will build up calcium on the bone, Which can break loose when you are older, locking your wrist...(His wrist was fresh from surgery for that reason) I got that warning in 1970, and have made a point, if at all possible, to use a soft mallet... All that rambling, just to lead up to saying Greta clip, simple, and no BS..

Thanks for this. I am replacing the very tired 2001 busa with a new (to me) 1999 busa (with only 15,000 miles) in my kitcar. Didn’t realize that the stator hub needed to be swapped to match the ecu. Once installed all the “new” engine did was fart and backfire. ... Gonna pull the engine and use your trick tomorrow! Thanks a lot!

Great vid, helped me out on a gen 1 busa just now. Used a random sportbike axle (model unknown) from a box of parts in place of the bolt that you used. Thanks!

Mossberg Mike would you guys happen to know how would I diagnosed if that's bad does it make any noises? I replace the stator and the rectifier along with a new battery and my battery just died yesterday out of nowhere and it just continue to drain.

@@Redrider2k2 does the flywheel play a role in the balance like in the car or is it just for the stator to create current?

@@herbfontaine No, there are some pins that must be swapped around in the ecu wiring loom but I honestly cannot remember which went where. I have since moved to a standalone ECU so I couldn't help you even if I tried! Perhaps try with some google-fu!
