Making and pulling handles on a new batch of angular stoneware mugs is the topic of this weekend's video, together with a segment towards the end that shows my rather unorthodox method of refining them. Otherwise, this film goes over how handles are made in excruciating detail, from how the individual blanks are formed, flared out and scored and slipped onto the body. I throw using both a Rohde HMT 500 & 600 potter's wheel and fire using Rohde kilns too, the electric is a TE-200 and the gas kiln is a KG-340.
